@hitman5806 "so cruising altitude will be something between that" - it all depends on the weight. A 777-200 will consume something between 6 and 7 t of fuel/hr , a 777-330 something in between 7 and 8 t of fuel/hr
@singel09 KLM have Economy up that far! most airlines dont have it past the wing! dont they have the galley on one side of the aircraft or is that the 747M?
No, it's still GE90, Murph. A GE90-115B, in fact. From the size and aspect of the engine, this is what you have in the video - as flown on the 777-300ER.
Looking at the data, there are also earlier -300 Trips that have PW and RR plants ... but this definitely looks like a -115B to me.
it has not so much to do with the interference, but more with the fact that a camera could become a dangerous flying object, in case the pilot has to hit the brakes. G-forces can be so strong, the camera would hit someone's head, and kill instantly.
its allowed. the only reason they tell you to turn electronics(like a phone) on a plane is because it cause radio interference. cameras don't generate radio interference
but they´re actually also saying turn off "ALL" your electronic devices, included if they dont have radio interference. But the reason to that i suppose is something that could be dangerous just on 10 million ;)
@singel09 klm does what they want to, they will not recieve 3-3-3 config, according to de diff in wing size, you can easily make up which is which 777
I agree, 3 min of taxi followed by a wide view shot to keep the whole engine in view. What was the point. Next time stand and take a picture for the same effect.
hey man, just though i would point out tht u were taking off on runway 36 not runway 36C. When you see a sign tht says 36C, its like two street signs tht show an intersection, the intersection here is between runway 36 and taxiway Charlie or Taxiway C.
Cool to hear you like KLM. You don't have to be afraid to be put on 737 only first when you start ;-) I'm a flight attendant for KLM, and when you enter the company you get trained on 1 shorthaul and 2 longhaul aircraft .
So basically you get the 737 and 747 period, and the 3th one is either the MD11, A330 or 777 (all longhaul)
However the last one you get trained on as you rise in seniority.
I got in on the 737, 747 and A330, and then you fly mixed Europe and Longhaul.
The 777 GE-90s diameter is nearly the same as the 737 fuselage diameter. Fokkers have the 2+3 seating (if I do not remember it wrong) and the 737s have 3+3. So the GE-90 diameter is definitely larger than the Fokker fuselage. It is all about increasing the by-pass ratio for higher thrust rather than the exhaust thrust.
It does not seem as if it was having much trouble lifting this heavy mass off to the air. Views are magnificant indeed. I was on Shiphol Feb this year too !
I dont know what it is but i love watching take-off's of other planes from inside a plane!I also love getting up early for a flight knowing that everyone else is asleep and just as you're lifting off you can see all the people in their little cars!!!flying is a great life!!
Wow. what a beauty.... Awesome sound. I particularly love the fact that the engines are massively huge on the front, but the back is tiny compared to 747 engines or such. xD !! Cant wait till A350 and 787. :)
I was on many flight but on some aircrafts such as the 777 there seemed to be that strange noise during take off( sounds like a compressor or a hair dryer wich is running very high)also vibrations...and it stopped at the time the plane reached cruising level.....as I remeber there was no such noise on the 747 but also on the avro jet ....anybody knows anything....you can also hear it a little in that video here:o)
These triple seven engine have huge compressors in the front. Because off their large diameter and the RPM at wich they are running, the tips of the compressor (the forward fan) reaches the speed of sound. The growning sound you hear is the tips of the compressor breaking the sound barrier.
How are you filming this? Are you allowed to whip out a camcorder as the plane is taking off now? I thought electronics were forbidden during takeoff... I'm flying to California in June and would love to record the takeoff. :)
