So 30 hours a week was considered addiction. And 4 hours a week is kinda pathetic. How do you get satisfaction out of less than an hour a day of gaming
haha people this was 1990 and games were a new thing ,i know and grew up in that era. Forget the world of todays technology and keep it simple with one old cord phone in a house ,one 30inch CRT TV and a microwave. Parents were alot more old fashion and came from the times of playing sports ,riding pushbikes ,Diners and living outdoors. Back then there wasnt much to do at home so you would spend alot more time outside. The other 10 years of gaming the "Atari age" were small games for 5 min play
sidenote, I can't recall this kid ever getting to stage 1-2 probably because he is only allowed to play for 34.285714 minutes a day. Strange fact, 34.285714 repeats forever and is the real time a day he is allowed to play. Do the math! He would never beat a game, he would always have to turn it off, nothing back then saved but zelda lmao. God his life must have sucked, I'm glad my parents weren't close minded and see the benefits of games, by the way I know what UNO is old lady, cards sucks.
4 hours a week what the fuck, he is the worlds worst mario 1 player, speaking of which, did anyone notice the peace sign on the flag he jumped off at the end of mario 1, stage 1-1, I'm from america I have never seen that on the flag before. i hate biased documentaries like this, that reiterate what ignorant people want to hear, like how computer games are bad or that tuning a car makes it perform worse? I got so pissed off when some fat bitch at work tried to tell me that i'm lazy because i play games. Gaming is the only time i relax and i think she is just jealous that when I'm at kung fu working on my abs she is in front of the tv working on her flabs.

Kids younger than 16-17 years are the worst with video game addiction. My nephew got into COD MW2 and he stopped eating, sleeping, and being sociable ect.
We pulled the plug on that shit. He's wake up in the morning the first thing he would ask is, "Can I play the game?"
When I didn't have a wife and 3 kids.....30 to 40 hours a week was nothing man. It was not even an addiction.
Now that I have a wife and 3 kids, then yea 30 to 40 hours a week can be an addiction you know why? Kids are needy...wife is needy...So I came to the conclusion that when you're married, you don't have a lot of time in your hands to enjoy the hobby you love. LOL
Also she said video games are mindless...depends on the game. Football can be a mindless activity too.
Gaming is great, so everybody should spend as much time as he wants with the greatest activity in the world. There are much worse things like fighting, fisting, war, drug use, Osama, Obama and so on, so leave the gamers alone!!!

Even games that you would never THINK would have puzzles... Have puzzles. If you hunt glitches, every game has puzzles. Even if they are annoying jumping puzzles, they still are puzzles. :D

I love when people complain about video games, then go and watch TV. At least with video games I am working my brain, unlike the mindless TV zombies. I think growing up on RTS games increased my multi-tasking performance.

This is a bios documentary, if you notice this kid only plays the first levels of "Mario Bros" a kid who plays that much would be wayyyy... past that. This is not actual footage of him playing. Also, if "Mario Bros" was a mindless game, any idiot would be able to finish it, and this is a very hard game. You need mental agility, hand eye coordination, memorizing patterns etc...

-_- Video games, mindless. That pisses me off. Any video game I've played requires thinking. Most video games have puzzle-solving in order to advance. Try Tetris or Fire Emblem, those are certainly not 'mindless' by any standard.

Even games that you would never THINK would have puzzles... Have puzzles. If you hunt glitches, every game has puzzles. Even if they are annoying jumping puzzles, they still are puzzles. :D
Also, this was taken in 1990. WHY WASN'T HE PLAYING A SNES? THE SNES WAS OUT THEN! Maybe he just prefered the NES, l know most people do.

And even fighting games require thinking. Some games have combos to pull off, and just about every fighting game requires the player to learn the moves of the characters and learn each character's strengths and weaknesses.
