  • Can I ask you why you have the Capo on the second fret?

  • @iaingbrennan To match the original recording. It sounds better too, and it is easier to play with a capo.

  • Expertly played, well done, I liked your version of Master Blaster, now this little gem by the Doobies, is this standard tuning?

  • @iaingbrennan Thanks. Yes, standard tuning.

  • First, your superb version of Master Blaster, now this little Doobies gem! Very nicely played, i assume this is in standard tuning?

  • Simple? HAH! Sounds great... my fingers are bleeding though

  • Really beautifully played. Thanks.

  • killer!

  • Wow, thanks for sharing this, outstanding job! Been wanting to learn that for years, and now I've got a shot. Once question, in the 8th bar on the G chord, it doesn't seem like there are enough notes. Can you help with the rhythm of that measure?

  • I LATE MY SCHOOL BEC. OF YOU.

  • right into:...people rushing everywhere...if they only slowed down once they might find something there...

I thought this tune was over my head. thanks!!

  • wow this is very beautifully done very very pretty and nice to listen to

  • What does the seventh string line mean?

  • Fantastic, I've always loved this piece...

  • Great job....this is actually written by James Earl Luft...

  • sweet

  • PERFECT 10****

  • To paraphrase Art Linkletter, I heartily enjoyed your performance! Thank you for sharing your talent and instruction.

  • Awesome!! I always thought this piece was played with two guitars. Great video! I'm gonna have fun learning this. THANKS!!

  • Well done! You rule! Thx 4 the lesson! What is the strumming style? Is it a pinch?

  • Amazing job. I thought I would be the first to upload this tune, but apparently I'm not the only dinosaur around here. So, I guess I can scratch this off my list of things to do. Thanks for posting the name, too. I no longer have the album and I couldn't remember the song title.

  • Thank you !

  • @oldwhtman hah. A dinosaur huh. I was a microbe..now that's when the Doobs threatened to take over the planet and then some punk meteor (media) storm kinda stunned it a tad....but talent will out as is evident

  • rein a dire .......juste admirer

  • great thanks for this! i love songs like this, so much fun to play

  • what an awesome lesson, what with the tab etc! superb!

  • Busted down...belongs to the 1973 The captain and Me album from the Doobie Brothers...I looked it for years and got the tape on 83 and lost it the same year in El Niño disaster...Pat Simmons always made a nice instrumental piece like this one..other good one is Slat Key soquel Rag...I am sure you can do it,,please...thanks a lot...keep playing so damn good....

  • Thanks you. Slat Key is a duet I think. might be difficult on just one guitar, but why not...

  • That was great . Do you also do "Larry The Two Step Logger " from Pat Simmons ? Its on a later CD .

I like how you also put the tab on it . Your fade out was right off the CD !!!!

    Great job man

  • Thanks Doobro. I don't know that tune but I'll try to find it.

  • I've been playing for years, even in a couple of bands once upon a time, and I've known 'kids' who can pick up a guitar and play great after six months. Not so with me. I have to practice constantly and if I stop for awhile, I forget it quick. Since the first issue of Guitar for the Practicing Musician (remember that one) I've relied on tabs so this video is a great format. Keep it up and hope to see more again. Great job, man! I really enjoy smooth and accurate playing.

  • Smooth great job

  • Wow,that was pretty good!!

  • Awesome.

  • killer

  • Very nice job...I think you can do Slat key soquel rag as well....

  • One of my favorite Doobie tunes ever. So short, but so Kool! I've be trying to get the right technique down for a long time! You sound just like Patrick. Great demo & great finger-picking. Thanks for posting BDACC. BTW...your Martin OMC-JS sounds wonderful!

  • Amazing! Your interpretation of a Patrick Simmons masterpiece is beautiful and excellent tab!

I am aiming to approach fingerstyle mastery. For now I have a few splices of songs and vocal on Brandon Dannals
