Why are people saying the effects are shitty? For the time it was state of the art. It's supposed to look like that anyway, Alex was bought into another world mirrored by that of his favorite Arcade game back home.
It's also worth mentioning that the arcade games in real life back then weren't as graphically as impressive as the graphics in this movie. They were probably too expensive to produce I guess.
yea this movie was the shit when i was a young lad ...this one and another where a kid is taken from his family then he breaks out on a space ship cruses it around and shit.....man im old
love this movie also, i seen it when it came to theater at the drive in, i have the dvd and the bluray, the blueray is awsome but i like to watch my old movies when vcr quality was around, just makes you feel like your back in the old days. anyone from michigan near cadillac area.
Robert Preston was cool in here and that Maggie lady was in that other movie that year in '84 was it called "Night of the Comet" I'm certain that's the name I've seen it a handful of times. I have the soundtrack to this film remastered. I was 6 when this came out. Red Dawn came out the same year. The Tigers won the World Series. They made movies right back then. So original. "THE LAST STARFIGHTER IS DEAD." Starman was the best in '84 sci-fi cinema all the way!!!
This is still one of my favorites. What i find is funny is that i can still remember a friend telling me that the movie's space scenes were all done by computer, "It was so realistic."
Yo Knight Rider lol

why all the 80's geeks talk all the time about this movie, I just watched it and it was one of the worst movie in my life... oh my god.

You kind of have to watch it as a kid. If I watch cartoons now they just don't have the same effect they would have if I was still 4.

it's like a mix back to the future and star wars all in one

This was before Back To The Future II. Actually, the Star Car from this movie is outside the Cafe 80's in Back to the Future II!

One of the all time classic lines. When that little thing flips over the Ko-dan's eye, it's just classic.

You've re-edited this, haven't you? You must have done.
"When it comes, you've got to grab it with both hands?"
"An experience he'll never forget?"
"You're going to love it! Love it!"
Please tell me you've monkeyed with this. Or tell me you haven't, either would be hilarious.
