@graemefarrell18 - Oh, it was grand (as per usual). I didn't film anything last month when I saw them twice. Nightwatchmen with a full band was amazing. I admit I cried a little... two weeks after I filmed this video on my crappy cell phone, my "mom" passed away. Song was so fitting. Have you been to some shows, Graeme?
@bonnastares Sorry to hear about your mom,fitting enough I guess! Yeah,I went to them in New York last month and the last (and first ) time i saw them before that was in Cork, Ireland about 6 years ago! I was holding out for nightwatchmen all night and they played it as their second last song...the older stuff they played was great too,truly a great band!
@graemefarrell18 I was at both of those shows in NYC last month, bopping away in the front. I was so thrilled when they played Mr. Benn the last night as it was a request I made back in the Fall- Paul was so apologetic for not playing it that he jumped off the stage to catch me before I left for the night. Such great people. Are you in IRE, now, and were just visiting for the show?
@bonnastares Wow,thats nice,the friend i was with,his grandmother used babysit the bassist Dominic,got into the gig for free,beauty! We're over here working for the summer. I was dying to see James Vincent McMorrow for the past year so it made it even better! Mr.Benn was great alright,tongue was fantastic,as was Eve the apple of my eye,they made that one really special, involving the crowd!
@graemefarrell18 - I have seen JVM 4 times in less than a year. He always amazes me. BX1, it has been 6 times. This year looks to be a record year for me, though, as they will be back in the States for the Fall. JVM already has a show in NYC for September, I believe, with full band (Check out the vid "If I Had a Boat" on Other Voices). Eve - yes, that was grand and from an '05 recording rarely heard.
@dracojeffjd Such a great show... I liked this much better than the Highline show I saw last year. We are lucky, as one gal told me "intimate" across the pond is 500 people. I caught the show on Saturday and it was maybe 40.
Safer than Love about 5 or 6 months before the album is out,great stuff! I'd be privileged if I were ye to have been there ;)
