Its true. the small E and B tend not to roll but slide over the roller because Teflon is so slick. It's perfectly fine.. I have noticed ZERO problems with this. Its still stays in tune fine. We have piezo saddles that do not use a roller at all and it still stays in tune because of the Teflons slippery makeup.
Yes it can make it stay stable longer as the rollers tend to stay free spinning longer and have a built in lubrication. However there are other reasons for tuning instability. And it depends on how it is unstable...sharp/flat or is it after bends of the G string? Back and forth is too high of rollers or a slipping or non existent locknut and the bending G string is due to poor string winding of the G string. Roto Sounds have a different twist that wont slip. Poor strings need soldering.
