  • Haha, I bet the people in the mall were like waaaaaaaa?

  • i found some of the application to be very useful, i'm sure they all are. but i found some of them to be especially useful. than there were some i couldn't imagine using it myself.

  • nice short, simple, controlled bursts of direction and movement for the internal strikes at the end, i.e. elbow, palm, wrist combos. ding.

  • i like it

  • nettes video finde die art echt gut

  • for me also it looks sometimes like jkd and sometimes like wing chun, but wudang fighting applications are quiet rarely shown in videos so without any example its hard to notice the difference for someone who never trained it. Whatever you call it and whatever it looks like, i like it, seems pretty direct and economic.

    Btw whats the music called?

  • @Peterminator0909

    Daft Punk - Aerodynamics =)

  • Wow, you should really be on the nine o clock news ore something!

  • Very nice =) Any martial art that can help protect you/save your life when you're in danger, is priceless =)

  • have punch like wing chun & dojo combined

  • Very nice.

  • isn't this bajiquan. all the moves i see look like it

  • @stevenliaw360

    Some is baji quan.

  • This looks like the same dude who goes by the name "Tommy Carruthers" in another MA video. As "Tommy Carruthers" he's supposedly is demonstrating JKD. Now this?

  • There are so many martial arts that have many similarities, after all there are but so many ways to destroy the human body; that your bound to see something you have seen before.

  • top video !

  • VERY NICE!! (and useful). Altough i m a dummy of Kung FU, I think its Wudang becoz i ve just watched a documentary series from Hong Kong abt Kung Fu, and i found the technique in this vid looks like what i saw in one of the episode from that documentary series introducing Wudang.

  • nice

  • nice moves dude ;)

  • WOW! GOOD SKILL! LOVE IT! You are really good!!

  • Seems like Chinese Kung Fu, but why Wudang? It looks like Wing Chun, but it is not. The reason why people think it is WC is that it has the techniques of "Inside Kung" of Kung Fu. However, WC is not the only "Inside Kung" system. Most of the techniques this guy performs are not WC skills.

  • All martial arts turn into karate when the shit hits the fan!! Kick, punches, blocks, throws, looks like good old karate to me!! Am I wrong here??

  • @Gman6755

The techniques are quite different, but yeah, you're kind of wrong :)

  • Very well donne. Respect.

  • Love it.

  • Tai Chi is practised slowly, but if ever used in combat it is damn fast. at least that is how my old Sifu showed me

  • respect geiles tricks

  • is it wu dang? to me, it more like wing chun

  • And for me it looks more like jkd and for my friend it looks more like kempo.... :) anyway, thanks for the praise!

  • @youlihan It really funny that you say that, because they both follow Taoist principles,This is my favorite clip.

  • @jlingx I think most martial arts look just about the same during combat, with slight subtleties because, unlike the Taolu, while in combat, you'll probably only use what's simple functional.

  • this is in Berlin Germany?

  • yes it is :)

  • @chris96kalonji looks like alexanderplatz in berlin yes ;)

  • que imbessil

  • Very nice! Practising with this mind the Internal Martial Arts can be used.

    Best wishes from Mario

  • in the middle of a shopping mall? really?....common guys.

  • nice

  • really cool, shifu

  • looks like jkd

  • A very nice video.

It is interesting how many traditional styles tend to end up looking very simmilar when put into achtuall application.

  • Great video, nice showing of the IMA applications!

  • Good stuff!! You would need all that and more at the mall in my town!! It has become little Africa!!

  • very very nice. Where do you train?

  • in Berlin, Germany.

  • Awesome!

  • What is the origin of Wudang Pai? It looks likes faster flowing tai chi.

  • origin of wudang pai is meditation.

  • wu dang pai is the style, tai chi is one of fist forms within wu dang system. origin of wu dang pai is from taoism, apart from meditation, also the observation of nature, living matters, energy, universe.... tai chi, pa gua, 5 elements etc.

  • Taoist Kungfu. Wudang is a school of Kungfu. Pai means school, genre, style.

  • actually, there are still many branches in the wu dang pai.

  • Absolutely brilliant techniques there!

  • What is your position regarding MMA competition?

  • mma increases the martial arts standarts for "one-on-one-fighting". Any system, or style will be practiced highly progressiv if the user want to compare himselfe in mma-like competitions. mma also is a way, that can let the martial artist find out his own arts effectivenes and its weak-points. But all these "if" someone practices for "fight". Many peaople practice ma just for body-control and health... of course in this case mma is not important.

  • That is so true sir.

  • that is the sweetest beard ive seen on a caucasiod ... i think it gives him special powers

  • Most impressive laoshi - thank for posting.

A question - does wudang arts use headbutts? it looks to me as it could be incorperated seamlessly.

    If not, why?

    EXCELLENT VIDEO.

  • Wudang Pai uses Head as a weapon as well... it is one of the 7 Stars. In forms u can c the headbutts too.

  • I remember from the shaolin training, they talked about "stars", but I just remember 6 of them, foot, knee, hipp, elbow, fist and head. what is the 7th?

  • shoulder.

  • every kungfu can use in fast and slow.

bruce lee use the weng chun change become fast attack....

  • Nice demo.

Onto an age old issue, I'd like to see a clip where the attacker doesn't hesitate and has strong intent.

Can you please make one where the attacker attacks with the same speed and ferocity as the defender? It will be a youtube first.

  • Well, actually it won't! But I agree, that would make it even more convincing.

  • That's real kicking alright!

  • sweet moves man.

I like the speed and the flow.

    good work.

  • Great. Your Timing and speed is great.I really like the baji applications with the ellbow. Chen Taiji has very similar applications espiacelly for ellbow. Thanks for posting!

  • ... :) i agree!

  • hmm this may be ok for a sat at wallmarts, not really hard enough to fight angery women at the summer sales looking for a bargain ;)

  • sir do you have any piguaquan based street self defense?

  • do u mean at THIS vid? or JUST 4 piguaquan another vid? Well in THIS vid there r 1 or 2 applications comming from the 9 fists of our method. Those 9 Fists r incl. also Pigua-Combos.

  • i meant for another vid and btw really cool vid but really i would love to see a vid that only includes piguaquan i have google'd youtube'd and yahoo'd my ass off but no results sir do you have one?

  • no i`m sorry NightHawk, but watch "Zhou Jing Xuan" at youtube, he have some nice apps for Piguaquan. Greet You.

  • Very interesting approach. Nothing wrong with functional use of Wudang methods. Nice work.

  • schöner kontrast in form und anwendungen zu den sonst "soften" wudang pai videos.

  • wudang is way before tsung and way more advanced

  • This looks like Wing Tsun to me, is there a link of some sort?

  • of course all the ma r linked with each other in one way, but i guess this is not the answer u like 2 listen from me right? ok, in THIS video all the application r trad. wudangquan and bajiquan apps. The Link 2 WT can be through the principles maybe. Even the WT dont uses rooting&offense like in wudangquan is used. greet u.

  • Thank you for the comment, I had heard of Ba Ji, Xing Yi, Bak Hok, Yi Quan but not Wudang Quan before. I'll study your video's, at first glance I must say it looks appealing, i.e. useful.

  • ok....but "internal" martial art?...sure?...

  • ok, ones 4 everyone: at "defense" there is no "internal" or "external", there is only "useful" or not... "internal" can be the "method-of-training", at "usage" everything become ONE! USE what HELPS u out. Himmet

  • ok...it's right, but the video isn' t only "self defense"...but "self defense -wudang pai"! , so I'm not polemic, but the methods of internal martial arts are not the same of karate or silat or jkd....so if I wanted to see in your video special skills of wudang, different from other arts, I can't understand the difference...excuse me but peraphs it's a limit of mine..however good defense

  • Hi,the problem starts with the thinking of "WUDANG PAI" = "INTERNAL". But it isnt! This is the Point. 8 years ago i been 2 China for more then 5-6 years and studied under several different Teachers. At Mt.Wudang i spent at least 3 years of practice. Believe me, "ONLY-INTERNAL" is just at the minds of ppl which didnt spend long time at wudang. Wudang Pai incl. MANNY external Forms&Apps. Of course there r internal apps 2 but in THIS case i "used" internal MOVES which u can c openly in this clip2.

  • ...i never would name it "WUDANG PAI" if MY teachers disagree. One very significant point of this vid r maybe the Kicks, right? I can tell u, until about 25 years earlier the well known GreatMaster of Wudang Pai and Lao Shan Nicknamed "Kong-Fei-Tui"(Empty-Fliying-Kick) used to win his fights JUST using his Legs. Not even one official challenge he used his Hands to fight. Those Kickstyle(which u can c at this vid 2) is past down 2 us through his disciple Zhang Dao Zhan, one of WD-Teachers.

  • ok...now I Understand well your method. bye

  • Very nice

  • Wudang Pai rules!!

  • SECOND PART WRITING:

So practice your forms and apply them because they work and of course you adapt to your situation so certain forms don't work but forms conditon your body...I dont know if I am making sense but I hope you can understand but the main point is to practice, practice, practice because you never know when some bullshit is going to happen to you. My friends and I never thought we were going to get jumped. We were just chilln at the park haven fun minding our business.

  • Great postures, positioning, stances, footwork, and everything! People pay attention to your forms and stances because they will save your life! My friends and I were jumped by 20 plus guys in China Town and I fought 6 of them but I was only hit once because I applied my techniques to completion and watched my surroundings. My friends are all fucked up now with broken arms and legs and fingers because they did not know how to defend themselves(if you want proof I have pics).

  • I never thought to do this with MA. My friends and I would do this with break dancing just start dancing in the mall but with MA it's even better. But I posted this before and I will post this here:

  • Wudang Pai ftw =)

  • this pretty amazing!

  • Great! Very fast and accurate.

But most of all I like the footwork on 0:40 ^^

if I imagine that those kicks would hit the head...ouch!

Hope to see more. Keep going! =)

  • Pretty nice!

  • This reminds me of what I'm doing, but I need more partner training.

  • Was haben die Leute am Alex gesagt? wollte keiner ´helfen´?

    Is echt nett :)

  • :) ja es gab schon n paar Leute die nachdenklich da standen... und die Polizei war so ziemlich 5 mal in der einen Stunde da... :)
