  • Did anyone see the eye staring at you when the signal broke up??!! 4:54

  • They should do another series of sketches showing us what the event was.

  • Best sketches ever. Shame that you didn't start with the first one, but nevertheless, AMAZING! :D

  • "Let's stand together..." so adorably sad

  • This is so hilariously depressing and depressingly hilarious.

  • @hyphz: I thought it be sad, because by that point the obviously used "fake" laughter in the background, to give a false sense happyness.

  • All of the laughter at the end is nervous, lonely laughter...frightened and despairing

  • @Salierethefish I think the point is that the laugh track kind of removes the point that, "there is no-one else". There should be no-one to laugh.

  • @hyphz It could be canned laughter

  • I'm sure there was one about Sheila dressed as a Tesco checkout girl for religious reasons.

  • These sketches really do stay with you long after you've seen them. Genuinely one of the most upsetting things I've seen on TV.

  • The Test Card F girl is really freaking creepy. Also, I would watch Mock The Event.

  • Oh, now I get it. "The event" was Barack Obama signing the new defense authorization act.

  • So... this is what happened to Numberwang...

  • This is actually a little bit creepy after watching about 10 minutes of it

  • Also, did you miss one at the beginning?

  • Also, I think we all know who the two "dislikes" are.

    They stand together.

  • You know, I find this oddly hopeful. In the first one, they'd formed a cargo cult, unsure if there were any other humans on Earth. In the second, clearly they'd found someone else, even if they'd had to kill him, and by the third, they'd an entire ops team at their disposal. They're all gone by the last, but someone's still out there, and likely someone found a way to defeat "them"... these two have a base's resources between just them, and their hopes have come true before.

  • I wish to be voltage calmed.

  • Aw... After the episode with "Open the Boxes," it all gets very sad. It breaks my heart to see them slowly fall apart.

  • 7:53 makes me burst out laughing. Every single time!

  • 2 people didn't remain indoors

  • 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains

The bible quote from the start.

  • This is masterful.

  • I've never been brought so close to tears by something so funny.

  • Does anyone know how I can download this onto my PipBoy?

  • @SIMONCOW311 Yes!

  • Hello 'them'! Thank you for the laughs...ha...ha...herr...

So thirsty...OMG, is that toxic waste?! GIMME!!

  • I really enjoyed this ^.^

  • This is what Fallout should have been.

  • NO, DO NOT IMAGINE THE EVENT HAPPENNING AGAIN, IT WILL CAUSE DISTRESS!!!!

  • In the last of the pre-event years a group was formed with the intention of taking one modest company and changing it into something that could bring peace to the World. Initially the group struggled, as their alcohol schemes failed due to mergers.

However this group would later limit it's scheme to only allow slightly less than two drinks, it became the Inebriati. Unfortunately, they elected a new leader who got fighty. The World was declared numberwang, that, was the event. REMAIN INDOORS!

  • The guy looks up and says yes . . . ARGHHHH

Am I the only one who is going to have nightmares because of that?

  • @Hexiva Yesss

  • @Interessant11 DO NOT try to remember the EVENT!!!!! It will cause distress!

  • @deaneedog You must be, because I find it frickin' hilarious.

  • @deaneedog Maybe you just didn't understand it

  • I love how at 1:00 they have a didldidi product... lol, I love these sketches.

  • 5:02 Twenty-SIX-hundred hours?

  • This would be downright depressing if it wasn't so downright hilarious. Would fit right in with the Fallout series

  • Revelations 6.13 -15 : "and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains."

Holy crap, no wonder they get distressed just thinking about The Event.

  • @TwoBlumen Keep smiling!

  • If this is what happens following The Event, then NBC has a lot to answer for.

  • I think one of the things I like most about Mitchell and Webb is just how fucking dark so much of it is--here, it's evil, depressing, funny as hell; in that Sherlock Holmes has Alzheimer's sketch it's incredibly poignant, and in both cases, it's sheer genius.

  • "President Butterfly" looks familiar...and yes, he was in the WWII pilots sketch as well...

  • A new beginning... A world free of Them...

We have a lot of rebuilding left, but going outdoors will be that much safer without the threat of Them hanging over our heads.

Still... Oh God, the Deep Crows...

  • laughter hurt it at the end, but a brilliant sketch

  • i would laugh when after a nuclear war ... or some other event ... this is the last surviving footage

  • The last broadcast is perhaps one of the most complex things I've ever seen on T.V. It's incredible how the host saying "Let's stand together" goes from being darkly humorous to completely heart-rending once you begin to fully appreciate the desperation that the two remaining survivors must be feeling, the implications of their last refuge from the horrors of their existence being destroyed, and the questions that are raised from the sudden, mass death of "Them".

  • I think that the event lodged something in my eyes.

  • If "The Event" actually does happen, I hope to be on The Quiz Broadcast

  • @squishy3000 DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE EVENT !

  • @voraistos BLESSED BE THE REGULATIONS!

  • @voraistos Yes... yes... yes... yes... yes

  • Who are them?

  • @asb5522 They used to be us

  • I think the Quiz Broadcasts might be one of my favourite Mitchell and Webb sketches! It's such a perfect blend of darkness and humour. Still, for some reason, I'd love to hear the last one without the laughter track, like the Holmes sketch had at the end; it's heart-wrenching, and by that point the humour is overtaken by the poignancy of the final situation, so the uneasy laughter is a little out of place for me here.

  • This is so wonderfully sinister.

  • This was actually quite touching by the end of it. It almost brought tears to my eyes when he said "Sheila's fine... Peter. Shelia's safe."

  • @Urielthemagicalcrab

Indeed. It's amazing how M&W can mi it all in together.

  • This was actually quite touching by the end of it.

  • Are these in order?

  • @CCNuck no...

  • @CCNuck I think so because everything get more and more tattered as they go along, but there's at least one more episode that I think occurs before these.

  • Frankly this show went downhill after they voltage calmed Sheila.

  • i have a question for mitchell and webb fans(such as myself):how would you live out a post apocalyptic-zombie infested world? i'd search for all the food and weaponry i could and then live in an abandoned, large building such as a bank/school/hotel spending my time boarding up all the windows and writing my life story in chalk on the floor of a large room

  • @flynntheman90 I would remain indoor and keep watching the quiz broadcast until I die from starvation or get eaten by "them". ;)

  • @flynntheman90 I would do exactly as the zombie survival guide says, yes there is a zombie survival guide!

  • @j667tnotb i know ! :) my friend bought it last week,he's been quoting bits every time we see something to do with zombies

  • @flynntheman90 well it is an epic book XD

  • @j667tnotb

    I love that book :P

  • @flynntheman90 Would you actually do that though? I'd like to too, but I'd probably give in to despair and kill myself I'm afraid.

  • @Yggdrasillpeter ah well it will always end in suicide I'm afraid, at least it usually does in the movies, I'd probably jump of the roof into a group of the zombies with grenades in my hands, that would be a way to go

  • This is actually very poignant after you watch a few of them.

  • @Haeronthegreat Haven't seen TV in 5 years so this is new to me but having grown up during the cold war with parents who worked on defence and in government, this is actually quite stressful viewing.

  • Damn, the voice of "Them" sounds so epic.
