i just did a practice half ironman yesterday...oh geez. i've only been training for about 9 months...but at this point, i can't comprehend doing double what i did yesterday. it makes me want to cry.

you don't get it.  the :"kick in the face" was figurative. but ironman isn't about not wanting that. ironman is HUGE, and those who don't wish to do it, don't get it.

Well, it's both. The figurative one lasts longer, but the real one can hurt and knock you off your game.
