Kate Mulgrew is deliciously articulate. So precise in what she says. She is Janeway and Janeway is Kate. She's smart, beautiful, and very strong. I think good 'ol Charlie is an ass in this interview - "big shoes to fill ..." more like big ego's. She was just as good as any one of those male Captains. 'Nuff said!

Im a guy, and I thought Kate mulgrew was simply PERFECT! I was curious when they first started airing the show, but I kept an open mind, and was VERY rewarded. I can't say one captain is better than the other. All of them have play their role very well :)  I hope they do yet another series...

Love Kate Mulgrew, you can see that a lot of her personality comes through in the Janeway character. Thank goodness they got rid of "Nicole Janeway" and Genevieve Bujold

That's an understatment!!! LOL From the clips I've seen of Bujold, she wasn't a very good Captain. I'm sure she is a good actress, just not in the part (for that I'm with you and very very glad) I can't imagine anyone else playing Janeway, because Kate IS Janeway and Janeway IS Kate. :)

She really made her character, and whats great about her is the level of intelligence she brings to the character.

Maybe it wasn't the role for her, but I still shudder to think that they picked her at all after all the auditions and someone like Kate Mulgrew waiting in the wings. @sw204me Yeah, exactly. The sci-fi writing wasn't particularly good; its only the chemistry the cast had, probably the best of any Star Trek series (though not necessarily the best Star Trek series period) that made this show.

I loved Voyager - it was never dull or stale for me. DS9 did have some boring episodes, but improved in later years. Enterprise had its moments. TNG was crummy for a couple years but then greatly improved. Just my opinion.

Usually actors, when not playing their roles, are completely different people. Kate Mulligrew, on the other hand, seems that she's playing the part of Captain Janeway when talking to the reporter. Nothing wrong. Just a noticeable characteristic in this interview.

The reason why there will never be a Voyager or DS9 movie is simple.

All of the actors are older now, and also it would seriously screw with the continuity of Trek to bring them all back together with so much time passed.

The only reason that they were able to do a TNG Nemesis movie, was that crew's arc never really 'ended'

What the hell would have to talk about Voyager after they came home? A two hour movie about life on earth? The masses wouldn't watch that. That's what made for TV is for.
