  • best theme song , EVER

  • my second fave clint film. one of the last of the old school actors

  • Watched this as a kid.

    Watching this as an Adult.

Will watch this as a geriatric.

Will watch this the next place I'm going...wherever that is !

    O5

  • Here's a challenge for you all:

Who is in the back of the Jeep pointing a rifle at the colonel?

It took me many years to figure out.

  • Best dang "war movie" ever made.....

  • 20+ people got run over by a jeep after staring at the people inside for 72 weeks and noticing they are enemies

  • God I first watched this movie in 3rd grade and loved it so much that I have made it a tradition to watch it every year. Every time I watch it I discover something new. I'm 21 by the way.

  • What a classic movie...

  • I love this song. When I was in the sixth and seventh grades I fell in love with this song. Still a classic and a favorite of mine to this day.

  • This song was used in the movie because of the military beat. The words of the song have NOTHING to do with the movie. I suggest the the individual who recommended the philosophy course go to an English university.

  • @Allisbuttoys

I would disagree and ask you to consider kelley's situation of having busted in rank because of being a scapegoat for a bad tactical event. I think you could analogize the song to him saying, "to hell with your sense of justice, I've decided to take my own path and live with the outcome....I am burning my bridges and moving forward."

  • Damn I hit comment on my phone & the send button is RIGHT next to the dislike. My apologies to Mr. Curb for buying a small touch screen knowing I have fingers the size of Ball Park hotdogs!!!

  • @alisbuttoys What does a comment formulated to take on a tone of intelligent superiority similar to that of Dennis Miller or Frasier have in common with a trivial & juvenile name like butt toys? Hope that I read your name incorrectly.

  • actually if you listen to the lyrics, it's quite a sad song.

all the lonely feelings and the burning memories :'(

  • One of my all time favorites! Thanks!

  • 20 people won't knock it off with them negative waves.

  • If you don't like this movie /song , then yer not breathing .

  • Allisbuttoys :: I could tell you but you wouldnt get it or believe it . Go to college and take a philosophy class

  • What does a bitter song about ingratitude and regret and a final awareness of narcissism ,have to do with a tongue in cheek war film ?

  • @Allisbuttoys Well, on one level, they are using the military's equipment to their own end which directly flips the bird to their higher-ups. It's questionable what the real source of the money is (holocaust). They also tricked a bunch of guys into building a bridge and then Kelly's boys left them in the breeze. Take that all to the esoteric and you get to where maddogtannen1966 says go take a philosophy class and get back to him ;) This is one of my favorite movies, best served w/ friends.

  • Kelly's Heroes anit just a movie its a way of life!

    Woof woof woof

  • Timeless movie I could watch this once a month

  • @JetskiDarrell Agreed. With friends or without friends but I tend to enjoy it more with a friend who enjoys it just as much as me. I amplifies the movie even more.

  • damned fine production.....thank you

  • Jesus this movie brings back fond memories

  • They don't make them like this anymore.

  • One of my all time favourites. I lost all my hearing at 18 years old and never heard a thing for the next 20 years. Then I had a Cochlear Implant done and can now hear again albeit it has it's limitations. My point being, I wish all videos had that little pop up which shows me what they are singing (the lyrics) and makes it all a lot easier for me to understand the song. Worth thinking about. I wish you could do this for all my favourite songs?

  • @spookmoor Many of the songs on here do have a version with lyrics. Yes it helps

  • @sjone1961 Thank you for the reply and yes they do have lyrics, but, not in time with the singing as seen here. Not that I have seen anyway, just a list of the words.

  • @spookmoor so true, it would be nice to have that way, but...

  • Don Rickles (Crapgame) a Democrat, mentions to Clint Eastwood (Kelly) a Republican, about doing a deal with the tank SS commander, and says "maybe he's a Republican".

  • Don Rickles (Crapgame) a Democrat, mentions to Clint Eastwood (Kelly) a Republican, about doing a deal with the tank SS commander, and says "maybe he's a Republican".

  • I never usualy do the standard comment on the people who voted thumbs down but...18 people are sending out them negative waves! :D

  • @JackRabbitSlim that is rich....lol

  • They almost won the war themselves lolololol I have seen this movie 30 times thru my life. It is a terrific one with great actors.

  • I remember my Father, taking me to see this film when I was 13, years old and I bought the single at the cinema! A classic!!! Fab film!!

  • can someone tell me what this song means like symbolizes or something

  • @blondyboy88 i think it refers to the concept breaking up with any friendship or relationship you built, like break up with everyone, terminate everything as burning bridges, referring as a connection

  • a WW2 movie with a bit of Woodstock thrown in :-)

  • @ivangrozny27

Lol xD YES!!! ^_^ I love this movie! :D

  • me encanta esta canción. ;)

  • and so begins the hunt for this comment by pkuhens56

  • THE SOLDIERS (M & F) OF WWII = MY HEROS

  • If it was'nt for our forgotten Hero's ... We wouldnt be seeing comments like this written in English..

  • 1:30 favorite part

  • @pkuhens56 Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Don Rickles aren't

  • all time fav movie can almost recite it line for line. DVD is always ready to play

  • ........ and the casting was fantastic. Carroll O'Connor, Telly Savalas, Donald Sutherland, etc. But every guy wanted to be Clint Eastwood - no other actor has ever had his presence on the screen. He was beyond cool with his "less is more" approach.

  • One of the best intros & songs in movie history. The music of the 60's and 70's is so much better than what came before or after. I'm glad I grew up then.

  • Great movie. Funny too. Oddball, Crap Game, Joe, Cowboy, Babra, etc. And of course, Kelly. The Military Channel has been showing it a lot lately.

  • The original (Video/D.V.D.) is better . They cut out parts when its on T.V.

  • Kellys heros is on again . Its on the Military Channel .

  • @maddogtannen1966

Just finished watching it. What a great movie. Half those guys are all dead now.RIP

  • Woof... that's my other dog impression..

  • Kellys Heros is on in 45 minutes . Check out the Military Channel . Thats 17:00 Hrs. Friday night . Its on again tomorrow , same Bat time same , Bat channel .

  • 18 people got Blown Up in the Johnny house with Don Rickles.

  • Those Jerries got soaked by the Willies.

  • "Kelly Heros" is on this Friday and Saturday on the Military Channel . August 19th and 20th .

  • @maddogtannen1966 ---yeah we watched it several times:)

  • I love how none of the Germans notice the Willys jeep!

  • @IRELANDSELITE The Germans used captured vehicles but had crosses dabbed on for recognition purposes.

  • 1st 13 secs of this was on Top Gear a few weeks back!

  • Guess where I got my nick from ;o)

  • @MrOddball63 ODDBALL :D

  • i remember my dad putting the VHS of Kellys Heroes on back in 94/95 when i was 4/5 been in love with this film and this song since then.

  • @misteraxl1 or maybe Vietnam. just sayin

  • We watched Kelly's Heros last night. My husband has wondered why I call him Moriarity for 27 years. Now he gets the message about those negative waves! He's in the music room learning to play Burning Bridges on the guitar.

  • @mrvonii

    :)

  • @mrvonii I bet that sounds like a Jazz band warming up , Do you manage to keep a straight face when he has finished destroying great numbers ?

  • @mrvonii good one Moriartyness !

  • Watching Kelly's Heroes RIGHT NOW. So many positive vibes man...

  • A DEAL deal. Maybe the guy's a Republican.

  • woof wooof wooof...thats my other dog impression...hahaha

  • This song reminds me of a lot of my old friendships that I let die. "All the burning bridges that have fallen after me..."

I guess ruining friendships is just an instinct of mine I'll never be rid of.

I'll always miss you all, even if you do hate me.

  • oddball

    oof oof

  • whats this song called?

  • @SuitMan5 would you believe "BURNING BRIDGES" ?

  • @FWW7450 omg i ment whos it by?

  • @SuitMan5 it's in the description lol, the band is called the mike curb congregation

  • @roflzilla24 Oh! i thought that was the gruop in the movie

  • @SuitMan5 lol no

  • what a cracking fillum...and an amazingly moving song...

  • I love the movie and this great video you made. My favorite war movie, hilarious good job and thank u

  • They should make a new movie, with similar settings, only to be in Iraq... about some hippy-like americans who screw war duties and killing and bush and america and go find lost treasure of Saddam. But, off course, todays american government would ban that film, because today is america MORE AND MORE BECOMING POLICE STATE! Greetings from US-bombed Serbia.

  • @misteraxl1 They already did that.

    Its called Three Kings.

The one with Clooney, Wahlberg and I-cube

  • @misteraxl1 No thanks are necessary...You're very welcome. Enjoy the Bombs.

  • my dads favorite movie...miss you dad..

  • moriarty what is it with the negative waves!

  • ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF THE 20TH CENTURY !

  • Call me crazy, but I love this song. I added it to my 1/16 scale RC tank so that I can play the song while I running the tank. I have six grand Children and they have memorized the song. They sing it all the time and drive my daughters crazy. When they visit, they ask to watch the movie. My father drove a Sherman during WWII. Thus my memories of my father.

  • WOOF WOOF, WOOF WOOF WOOF

    -ODDBALL

  • Incredible, I remember being a kid, and they advertised this movie for weeks, I have been hooked on it and this song ever since, classic!!!!

  • One of the best if not best movies with quite a few of the big stars at that time! I love this movie and watch it every chance I get. Watching it right now on some obscure cable channel!

  • sweet-ass drum line. this is what the army should be marching to

  • My favorite war movie and I love the song.

  • This probably my favorite war movie.

  • The dislike bar is just like Lady Gaga's penis... it's small, but it still shouldn't be there...

  • @Yitaren1 Is it just me, or does lady gaga look like Ric Flair?

  • I inherited a bunch of 45's from a sib and played them constantly way back then.. this one was a fave, the message struck a chord with me at 6-7 yrs old and still does..

    thanks for the movie credits..

  • only clint would ride through a nazi camp by himslef and run over a nazi officer. Clint has to be the best movie badass actor. This is an awesome movie by the way

  • @greenbay357 I actually saw it at a drive in the year it came out. Never forgot, still love it today.

  • The guys get together to rob the gold (individuals who are in it for number 1) but become reliant on each other . Favourite song from a film of all time by the way!To have a group of people together with different ways of doin things dont make sense! so burn them bridges and go for gold!!

  • Clint goes speeding down the road and douses those poor grunts trying to stay dry in the rain and get some hot food. I would have been pissed too.

  • I can relate to this song way more than I'd care to admit. Anyway... There was a roast for Clint about 20 years ago and Don Rickels was there as well as Donald Sutherland, Telly Savalas and I believe Stuart Margolin. When Rickels got to the podium he mentioned making the movie and said a few phrases that were obviously inside jokes. There was some laughter but Donald, Don, Telly ,Clint and Stuart were all busting up. For those of us who've seen the movie, it was a nice moment.

  • I have allways loved this song and the movie. I even named my first son Kelly from this movie. I still like it as the first time I heard it.

  • The second best opening and closing theme songs ever done!!!!! Awesome!!!

  • i want to remake this movie but have them in iraq i'll have to include donald, clint ,and rickles of course

  • @chefsean31

Three Kings (1999 - Clooney, Wallberg, Ice Cube) was based on the same premise (stealing gold at the end of a war [Kuwait]), but not even close to this masterpiece.

Saw this in the theatre when I was 10. Most of the jokes went over my head, but still loved it.

  • i like when big joe says to barbra "come on you idiot!"

  • You can literally see the sixties spinning out of control and the rest of society unravelling as you watch this film. Shame that freedom was experienced as a burning bridge.
