I purchased one and was a little disappointed in the picture quality. The image looked washed out and blurry and even worse when recording under low light or during dark scenes.

Even Cheaper Mini DV cameras by sony are alot better!

Cpacity 4GB its only 55 mins recording and then you have to buy expensive memory sticks that are double the price of SD cards.

well i got mine on sale for 300.00 but i think the average price is 370.00. best buy is the way to go. thats where i got mine. i think all the specks for the sr47 are greater. most stuff is the same but the sr47 is pretty much having one level better then the sx40. the touchscreen and software look the same. well, thats really it

What you heard is true. I use pinnacle. You can always convert files with a converter, but it might damage quality.

Between this and pocket cameras (which sometimes run on restricted time limits), i would defiantly say this. It is very reliable. I recommend you getting two memory cards and an extra battery. The large battery i have on in this review lasts more than twice as long as the one they give you. They can be found on the sony website. Sincerely, Jack

with gloves, holding would be hardish, but u could use the starp. filimg somone else it would be fine. i have never had trouble with uplaoding audio. i will upload a video directly from camera, no editing, right now. and about editing pinnacle would be best for this camera.

without an adaptor, i dont think so. I just use a usb cord adn click memoercard and copy my video files. You can definatley get an adapotro for the memorycard but it is eaiser to just use usb. So no, not easily.
