not to be a downer, but i really think that john mouffat's hercule poirot is indescribably fantastic. unfortunately it's merely an audio dramatization so i think people are less familiar with it, but it is worth a listen.

Poirot è un capolavoro letterario, uno dei personaggi più mitici della letteratura novecentesca! E David Suchet è un attore immenso che è riuscito ad incarnare alla perfezione il personaggio immaginato dalla Christie! Quando leggo i romanzi non posso non immaginarmi Poirot col volto di Suchet e la voce di Marinelli. E' uno dei rari casi in cui il protagonista dei romanzi e quello delle trasposizioni collimano perfettamente.

Grazie per il video, è bello vedere l'apprezzamento per certi talenti!

Hai ottimamente citato il grande Eugenio Marinelli, non si può non pensare a Suchet senza la sua voce. ;) Se poi tu confronti l'originale vedrai che sono uguali, sia nello stile interpretativo sia nell'uso dell'accento che non è mai macchiettistico.

Stavo pensando proprio ora che Marinelli sarebbe tra quegli attori che fanno doppiaggio da intervistare.

Mr. D. Suchet has understood something profound about the `kernel`-essence of H.Poirot. He appears as Hercule Poirot in flesh. It`s a kind of magic you see, because this is not said to undermine other actors. On the contrary, England has a well deserved reputation as a country with many extremely high-level character-actors/actresses. Mr. D. Suchet just happens to make the task for the others to play the role of H.Poirot just next to impossible. If this is not Brilliant, then, what is?
