  • By far the best explanation of the differential

It's an oooold film from Chevrolet produced in 1937 !!!!

    (fron youtube: ) yYAw79386WI

  • I got a free autodesk 10 pro everything is there I just need a crack...

  • I see,I understand but it is,nevertheless,still magic!

  • aha but if one wheel should come off the ground...

    the car will stall.

as all the tourqe is transferred to the wheel that is off the ground. and your not going anywhere haha

you need a limited slip diff in order to transfer the drive back to the stationary wheel.

  • Nice music!

  • is it hard to build things in autodesk inventor?

  • Does the gear that is connected to the crankshaft turn the box assembly, or the axle that the wheels are on?

  • @thegreekstatue turns the "box assembly"

  • Does the gear that is connected to the crankshaft turn the box assembly, or the axle that the wheels are on?

  • @thegreekstatue it turns the box assembly, off course, else it wouldnt be a differential

  • Very useful for trying out in GMOD. I am sure going to give it a try using wire.

  • Looks exactly like old Construction building kit. Except the wheels.

  • Interesting design.

I wonder how large the housing (casing) would have to be?

  • good one though

  • how do you make it move in inventor 5.3

  • lol autodesk inventor can easily draws a 3d gears and rotate/revolve they want but their dwngs. can't be fabricated.

  • if only Autodesk didnt cost $5,000

  • go to Philippines there are lots of resources only cost 2-4$....

  • its free on the website

  • @eoqazzaq the piratebay ftw my friend gives an opportunity to experiment with it

  • @eoqazzaq Mecano the "toy" displayed or animated only cost a few bucks pr set ;)

remember playing alot with it when i was a kid.. ;) loved it, and still do..

  • @eoqazzaq It's free if you're a college student!

  • @eoqazzaq

  • Anyone know what the name of the music is? It was a theme song for a news (CBS?) show when I was a kid.

  • its from a movie clockwork orange and it is beethoven

  • thanks a lot for sharing

  • Oh Merkur!

  • wow hella pro, i didnt know inventor can do such real renders!

  • Sample music FAIL.

  • Was thinking the same thing when I just read this comment... Nice vid, nice invention, but FAIL music. No music would've been better...

  • @Archeronoxydexed he did not invent it he just drew it in autodesk :P

  • @Archeronoxydexed he didn't invent this lol, this is already in every car xD

  • Anybody know what the casings are called that hold the bearings so the axle can spin? There is one on each side. Their connected to the brackets that connect to the metal baseboard.

  • nice piece of work

1 question" if in the 3rd mechanism an external force brakes the turning wheel(right wheel)will then power be transmitted to the stopped wheel and move him?

    tnx

  • I wait longingly for the day when software like this can be used everywhere on portable virtual reality systems.

  • Beethoven's Symphony No. 9

  • the music, who is the composer or title

  • Comment removed

  • Beethoven Symphony #9, second movement :D bye!

  • yea we have to do this kinda stuff in my class

if we get even the slightest thing wrong we get an F on the project it's pretty gay

  • Ok, so if you lay down a chunk of cash for something you need, like a toaster or microwave oven or whatever, and 3 weeks later the appliance doesn't work because the handle came off in your hand for no apparent reason. This was caused by some engineer who didn't pay attention to the details of his work which resulted in the yield strength of the handle being exceeded one time too many under nominal operating conditions. My point being; If the bar is not set high then what does the future hold?

  • An appliance handle. Obviously.

  • An engineer getting anything other than an A on assignment is akin to the nurse or doctor getting B and C's on test. In which case, I don't want them working on shit that I own!

  • well i'm only a sophomore in high school so cut me some slack

  • dammit son! don't make excuses. push yourself to the next level for the love of god, stop calling everything gay. you sound like a fucking homophobic immature asshole that wasn't raised right.

  • true that XD

  • good stuff!but i got a question, are the three mechanism differents in something?because i noticed at the first and at the third one, the four inner gears don't move at all...

  • it's exactly the same, all three. the difference is that the 1st 'car' is driving straight, the 2d takes a small turn left, and the 3d is making a hard turn left. the driver of the car desides.

  • It's hard to see the diference because the wheels are always straight forward and the arrows of the start are missing.

  • the one on the right, has only its right wheel moving, so its going in a circle, the middle one, one is moving slower than the other, so its going to be a larger circle and the first one are both moving at the same speed, so basically its moving straight :)

  • @vacuum20 its called a car differential and the idea is over 2000 years old :P

  • A model of this would be a great teaching tool.

It should be marketed as such. Good luck to any one who produces it ...This model is really clear.Great Job!!

  • Génial, mais il aurait fallu montrer l'effet différentiel!!!

  • wow man thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice!

    just got a little question...

if 1 wheel blocks... does the other wheel goes double speed? xD

    grtz, antii

  • yes, that's correct and that's whats in the video!

  • No, only the planet gears turns at double speed.

  • @djorkaef WRONG

  • brown guy.

  • right on !!!
