  • The twins were also not in this movie

  • God it's been years since I've seen this crap and holy hell I remember why I haven't watched it since.

  • lol i agree.... Murtagh: OH lets go to the VARDEN? I'm not a son of the traitor who actually helped make the rebellion.

  • dude ur helarious, just saying u bring up good points

  • you look like the guy from scooby doo and without a paddle.. lol

  • lord of the rings....way better

  • You know what as a fan of the Inheritance Cycle I can actually say that I did enjoy the movie. I know that they screwed things up and left things out but for the most part I still thought that it was a great movie. I honestly wish that they would just do a reboot of the movie and add all the characters and plot points the first movie didnt put in and then do the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movies

  • christopher paolini was definetly being polite. there is no way they could screw up his book and him actually enjoy it.

  • Star Wars Episodes 4, 5, and 6 had the worst storylines ever. Episode 6 in particular is just too painful ti watch. The "mighty" Empire defeated by Care Bears....that is just saaaaddddd.

  • The Hunger Games... I still have faith...

  • im glad they cancled the next movie for peet's sake its totaly difrent

  • Murtagh is the dude from Tron!

  • pretty much the whole entire ending is in eldest except murtagh is the shade

  • The books will always be better than the movies. Anyway Im curious how Eragon would look like if Peter Jackson would film it, in my opinion he did a nice job with LotR so why not try to remake Eragon ;p

  • Hey look at it thiss way if Hollywood or any.other movie screw u wouldnt have anything to review

  • i really like how they have the urgals in the movie as humans and no kull... wth. also where are the twins or dawrfs??? there is so many differences it is stupid the razacs were not killed until the 3rd book duh

  • Eragon: found the "stone" lying around his legs were grazed by her scales when she got angry, flew away before the house burned etc Brom: hes way older looking he wasn't that free to talk about Galbatorix he didn't die at the cell etc Murtagh: he'd sound better scottish had he a beard, perhaps? went missing after Eragon was notified Arya: she was unconscious for a long time etc SO MANY OTHERS. Boy, did you know this director also did visual effects for Series of Unfortunate Events? -.-
  • whos the man whos the man! .... oh crap im falling

  • I love the book idc if its a mix of other storys so what i like going "hey i no were thats from!!"

  • omg i remember seeing this movie when it came out i was like 6 and i liked it, then I re read the book 3 times in 3 years, and now i want to see the movie again and i just realised how much they messed it up, like when he kills durza they were in a chamber and durza cut his back and he was powerless

  • lol, although i like this review alot, one of my favorite things about it is how you call the book "the source material". thats awesome. I ALSO RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE HERE THAT YOU WATCH THE STARWARS PREQUALS REVIEWS BY REDLETTERMEDIA!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SarahSmiles they are only half Brothers As theyve got the Same mom but eragons father is Brom

  • They should like restart it all together, but As a series

  • whers jeod and helena

  • Eragon should have been a tv series that way they could have kept the things in the books correct, fucking movie sucked!

  • yeah biggest part that pissed me off so damn much was when murtagh showed eragon his scar that his father gave him...according to the book the scar was long and ran down his back...not some small stitched up worm like wound on his side/waist

  • YES I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SAYS HE COPIED STARWARS!!!

Read inheritance for avatar the last air bender (baby Hope) and the end of LOTR... excuse me while I go bang my head agents a wall as my soul slowly dies piece by piece.. :(

  • You think Eragon is like Star Wars? Read Eldest. Yeah that whole "I am your brother" thing was a tad too much for me at first. The series overall is good though. In a few years, I'd really love for them to make the film over, so you know, you can actually add a sequel (they left out all of the aspects of the book which were important to the plot of the sequel), and this time hopefully not piss me off by giving my favorite raven-haired character strawberry blonde hair.

  • The most accurate charater it the entire move is the egg.

  • The guy next to ajihad is his second in comand jumarehad (bad spelling) not horothgar! Anyway if any dward should of been there it should of been Orik! his absense basically meaning he can't be in any sequel also where the hell are the twins!

  • Oh yeah, and even if he's 15 - the author - "I knew he was young, but I expected him to be more... well, more". I mean, after reading "The Carpet People".

  • This movie is one huge plothole. I didn't read the books and I won't (it's the nausea I had after first 20 pages of the 1st book, that put me off), but the movie simply makes no sense in any way - no sense at all, at any point. I don't care if I reade the book or not; a movie should be a stand-alone product.

  • what movie were you talking about with the actor and the dragon at the last 45 seconds?

  • btw eragon and murtagh are brothers

  • @SarahSmiles1999 only half

  • what is the song that starts at around 5:30?

  • @laddarecess It's an Avril Lavigne song, don't recall the name. It's in the end credits of the movie.

  • @smeghead4269 its keep holding on

  • @smeghead4269 You sir are absolutely hilarious. Personally, while you're exactly right about this movie, i still watch it because it's hard to find a movie about dragons these days that isn't entirely about killing them.

  • @laddarecess It's called 'Keep Holding On' by Avril Lavigne

  • @laddarecess Its called Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne

  • If these people are supposed to save the world... we're doomed.

  • The thing with the star wars rip off point is that it is a basic story element: bad guys stronger than good guys, unexpected hero and rebels are actually stronger in reality. Though it is still a surprising resemblance.

  • @monsterSK2 The similarities are pretty damning, though.

  • @RussellThePumpkin Oh no doubt but having reread the whole story just for the next book I think there are major differences. :D (fan boy much?) Also just a side note the only reason Arya was the one carrying the egg is because she was one of the few elves that was willing to deal with and outside their forest. (little self-centered, but whatever) Although I dont want to get into much more due to spoilers there are many things that change the plot from being so similar to Star Wars. OutOfChar

  • @monsterSK2 I've read it too.

I didn't hate it at the time, and I even went on to read 'Eldest', although, admittedly, I was starting to get quite tired of his writing by then. I haven't bothered to read the third in the series as it was all getting a bit too LOTR for my liking.

  • @RussellThePumpkin Ya it has to be to ones likeing that is for sure. If you ever did read the third one a lot comes together and makes more sense, however dont if you dont like the story. That would be a waste of time. Sadly the third is also where so many parts that this movie failed with become so obvious it is sad. Without trying to spoil anything some of the worst complaints become sovled for the critics which is nice and thankfuly it hides most of the ties with Star Wars.

  • love the books and book 4 is coming very soon :D

  • @TheImmortalJon Hell Yeah November 8th

  • I very much enjoy the books, and HATED this movie, mostly for the reasons outlined in this 3 part video. About the Star Wars ripoff, I don't really have a problem with it, because it's still entertaining, and Pirates of the Caribbean AND Harry Potter also rip off Star Wars. It's a story so ingrained in our culture that similarities in modern fiction are inevitable.

  • @jmrepublican Very good point. Hell, even Star Wars borrowed elements from other stories.

  • @smeghead4269 I'm sorry to say I never realized how much these books related to star wars and my dad is a huge fan of it. When you brought up the star wars logo I laughed so hard my ribbs hurt though you have a very good point. Thank you for showing some of the things they let out you should read the other books if you haven't already it has a very good but a little bit sad ending.

  • @jmrepublican for sure star wars ripped off of every greek tragedy and comedy ever written. lucas even admits that

  • LOL,... ur brilliant... really... sooo funny... hahaha!!

  • Eragon and Durza in the final battle is really bad. The final battle in the book is nothing like that.

There are more books to the series including: Eldest, brisiger and one that hasn't come out yet.

  • @f1isthebest100 inheritance

  • Just read eragon and im nearly done with eldest, i thought about watching the film but thamks for the heads up because it seems like a serious disapointment

  • @vampirechimpanzee I saw the trailer for the movie and knew it was bad. I saw the trailer for Avatar the Last Aribender and knew it was going to be bad. Usually I can swallow a horrible movie but this, no I refused to watch it. Just in the name of being a fan of the book and the t.v. series.

  • Another big thing about the movie was that they eliminated all the characters and plot points necessary for the sequel, Eldest. Given how much the movie made ($200 million) despite being awful, and seeing as this is a four part book series, the producers of the movie blew up to ONE BILLION DOLLARS by failing.

  • Ahhhh...there it is.

  • That comparison with The Two Towers is the best indicator of how it tries to be like Lord of the Rings and how it just fails in doing so. Honestly, this movie was god AWFUL. I seriously hope the book is better.

  • I wouldn't call it plagiarism either, because Star Wars uses Jungian archetypes and a lot of fantasy fiction does that. The movie just makes it unpleasantly very obvious.

Thank you for the hilarious review XD

  • @peterfinnfilms sorry screwed up your username I have another comment below this.

  • @peterfilmfans it didnt happen in the book it made no sense here. In the book eragon is actually severely injured and maimed by the emperors right hand man dam another star wars rip off.

  • Eragon being the second worst film involving Jeremy Iron and dragons, hm

The first worst...Wait wait, let me check *goes to Wikipedia* Dungeons & Dragons!

  • I love these books and I took no offense to your comments about how it plagerizes star wars I don't know if you've read book 2 yet but at the end of that theirs another huge fucking star wars rip off 1 of the most iconic star wars lines/plot twist is used theirs also a big rip off in the middle book 3has no real rip offs I guess paloni was threatened a law suit and decided to write something different.

  • @Bwkjam the 3rd one does have starwars rips offs just lesser, the rescue, going back to oromis who ends up dead soon after and if you think of shades as death stars then the second shade being killed at the end is very simlier to in jedi but I kind think he had been doing it with at noticing at least at first.

  • Wait. Eragon couldn't save Brahm, but he saves a huge dragon with the same spell? I thought he wasn't strong enough.

  • lmao i love your videos :)
