where I hunt in Alabama mostly yes! on the inlaw's land no...he doesn't have enough weight on him. Doesn't have a pot belly yet or sway in his back. Nice neck though. I'd let that boy walk for another year 9 times out of 10 on prime land. On garbage land in Cullman Cty or Blount Cty where I hunt most, he's a keeper.
Thanks for the comments. What you didn't see is, the very next evening this buck was shot at a food plot 1/4 mile away (15 in. on the inside). No regrets, I've shot plenty of similar bucks, but a first for the guy that did shoot him. That's what it's all about!
