Awesome film! just watched it on Blu-ray with no lights on in the house. Ryan is awesome in this move - wish I'd seen it at the movies. Excellent acting and so well directed. I felt like I was there. God help anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. All I can say is learn the "1 inch punch technique" a'la "Kill Bill" :) Seriously though - brilliant film!
This film is of itself a class on how to make an awesome piece of suspense. You know the outcome (the fact is, he couldn't dig his way out without having the sand suffocate him), but you still feel devastated because the protagonist is so well developed that you fully sympathize with him.

Buried was excellent. Well acted, an interesting concept, and at times genuinely unsettling. Though it may just be the most agonizingly frustrating movie ever made.
Don't atch this movie it will really make you feel depressed to the highest degree. Especialy the ending. It will fuck with your head. I just saw it two days ago and I still feel depressed from that movie. Whoever wrote this has a fucked up mind creating this scenario and even more fucked up to let the main character die at the last minute when hope seemed possible.

Wat a pointless & predictable movie. Sure, Reynolds did a good part on his role, but you can't blame him for this amazingly weak & uninspiring plot. For 90 mins you're just watching one guy trapped in a coffin with a mobile phone calling for help & is trackable but absolutely no one can find him & dies in the end. The only exciting & action-packed part of the film is when the snake crawls in & out of the coffin, which I guess was their only way to get more of the audience's attention.

It had moment of humor and moment where you wanted to cry with him. Its not like the movie previews were misleading, you knew what the movie was about before watching it. The main conflict was being buried... and a helpless man.

-17 days salary for the crew, including the main actor.
-it was shot on 35mm film, so all the cost of the film stock and of course the post production
-all the payments for the tv commercials, the editors, the sound mixers, the stylist, the make up artist, etc.
Maybe, they could do it from less money, but it doesn' matter.

so did they found mark white alive or dead? Since Brenner said that they "rescued" him 3 weeks ago, which can probably meant that he knew bout his situation 3 weeks ago, he will probably be dead. But again, he lied when he said that he was already at home so he could lie bout the time. so I dunno. Did he found him alive or not?

This is a pretty insane movie. Very high anxiety. Don't watch it if you are claustrophobic.
I did watch it, and it's pretty good, but intense as hell.

He gets buried alive. They don't rescue him, they followed a false trail to Mark White. A person he was told was rescued. He was in the same position as him. That's the whole movie pretty much and a few phone calls. There is only one set and that's in the box there will be no other scene.

Buried was excellent. Well acted, an interesting concept, and at times genuinely unsettling. Though it may just be the most agonizingly frustrating movie ever made.

Don't atch this movie it will really make you feel depressed to the highest degree. Especialy the ending. It will fuck with your head. I just saw it two days ago and I still feel depressed from that movie. Whoever wrote this has a fucked up mind creating this scenario and even more fucked up to let the main character die at the last minute when hope seemed possible.

DNT READ IF U DIDN'T SEE IT. So I just finished this...complete downer. Ryan's acting was awesome, the suspense was there, n it pulled you in. Not that there always has to be a fairytale ending, but it (the ending) just took away the whole meaning of the movie. u'd expect the guy the get saved after all he went thru. It gets your hopes up (esp. at the very last seconds while the sand is filling the box) for the guy so much that you start praying that he makes it, then just like that, he's dead.

Mahdiranger I partially agree with you. Definantly a movie that shows, not necessarily how the u.s doesn't care about us, but of all the red tape that people have to go through to cover their hides. How before we help somebody, we have to prove that it's not our fault whatever happened. Very sad, but very real

Just watched this movie, if you watch this movie and within the first 5 minutes ur not thinking it's the best movie of ur life, go slap the person who recommended it, because u are at the best part in the movie, the part u THINK it will be good and get better but it don't, it's one guy in a box the whole movie, from beginning to end! it's pretty sad actually!

this movie was excellent it's not only about someone getting stuck in a box it's about how the united states does absolutely nothing about a person if they are capture by tourist..so for people who dont get this movie its sad and you dont care about any person who ever died by getting capture by a tourist.. meaning solders, citizens, journalist.. this things happen in real life just put yourself in his shoes and you will get the movie ill give it a 9 out of 10

Wat a pointless & predictable movie. Sure, Reynolds did a good part on his role, but you can't blame him for this amazingly weak & uninspiring plot. For 90 mins you're just watching one guy trapped in a coffin with a mobile phone calling for help & is trackable but absolutely no one can find him & dies in the end. The only exciting & action-packed part of the film is when the snake crawls in & out of the coffin, which I guess was their only way to get more of the audience's attention.

@885808326 I disagree... The movie was great... It was not predictable at all, because we all assume it will end happily... and it did not. It had moment of humor and moment where you wanted to cry with him. Its not like the movie previews were misleading, you knew what the movie was about before watching it. The main conflict was being buried... and a helpless man.
