This is Sam, I bought this phone (LG G2x - unlocked phone) from ebay. In that GPS is not working. Whenever I open the 'Navigation', 'Car Home', 'Latitude' or 'Maps' application, it keeps on displaying the message 'Searching for GPS...'. It is not able to find my location.
@jsksamuel Hey Sam, sorry for the delayed response. The only thing that I can think of is to go into the settings and verify that the GPS is enabled, otherwise you may want to take it back t T-mobile because you may have a faulty device. Mine has issues once in a while with locking on GPS, however, that happens very rarely.
@cmcolombianSh no unfortunately the green bars aren't included with this phone. Although it's stock Android, it's not identical to gingerbread on the Nexus S, my biggest disappointment was the lack of the crt screen-off animation.
is it worth to sell a computer for this phone? all i use my computer for is youtube, and personal websites like facebook, stickam , etc? or sometimes i like to use ebay or things to order stuff online? is it worth it?
@1Chivista3 Well this phone can definitely handle all of the tasks you mentioned. If you are ok with a much smaller screen then I would say go for it. Keep in mind that the Galaxy S2 phones are coming out very soon, I would suggesting waiting for that. The only advantage this phone has over those is the HDMI port, but you can buy an adapter for that on the GS2. The G2x is a great phone, but doesn't compare to the GS2 unfortunately, it is cheaper tho
@acuratlnigga Unfortunately the update isn't available for the Optimus 2x yet. I have seen an estimated time for the release, the last I saw it was supposed to be release in July but that obviously didn't happen. I'll let you know when I hear otherwise.
@cscorallo Well my normal day I use it from 9am to about 8pm with pretty heavy usage (check emails at least once an hour, browse a few sites, stream music for about 30min, play high graphic games for about 1 hour, etc...) and I usually have 30%-40% when I go to plug it in. I think you will be ok it's pretty good compared to some other phones I've used, just make sure that you are managing your battery properly.
@jocke811 Unfortunately I haven't herd anything recently regarding the update for the Optimus 2x but when it does get the update, it will be very different from the G2x. Although there hardware is identical, the software is completely different because the G2x is running stock android and the Optimus 2x has LG's custom UI. Its hard to say what the 2x will be like with 2.3 because I can't recall any LG phone running gingerbread with their custom UI.
@felopr Well I just bought the phone about 2 weeks ago so it came with gingerbread out of the box. That was something I was worried about though. I am happy to say that in 2 weeks I haven't experienced any random reboots(knock on wood). It sucks that the 1080p recording isn't working currently, but I'm sure there will be a fix for this soon. I would take 720 with no reboots>1080p with them any day.
@hioxd overall I would definitely say the G2x is better. I haven't experienced any problems with the phone at all in the 2 weeks I've had it beside a little bit of backlight leakage(only noticeable in a very dark room) but no reboots or other problems. The screen and call quality are great, and the camera is nice. If you wan't speed and a nicer display go with the G2x, if you want a easier interface, willing to sacrifice some speed, and are ok with a 3.7" screen then the MyTouch would be good.
@hioxd the sensation is a really nice phone with a great UI, but it is much slower than the G2x because the G2x is running stock android. HTC Sense, the UI HTC puts over android to make it more user friendly, slows the phone down significantly. If you can deal with a little lag than the Sensation would be a good choice. Overall, I think the G2x is a better device.
how do you get your time to display lik that on the homescreen

Stupid Ginger bread update. Downgraded the front facing camera to VGA rez. And you also lose all of the cool camera features

Have your signal bars ever turned green ? They are suppose to on Gingerbread but they don't for me

@4eyenigga So what, the camera is still decent, and having a slightly worse camera is better than having a buggy to shit phone.

@hioxd Yea they have't released a fix for it yet but the 720p is good enough to me, for now anyway. HDMI mirroring is a really nice feature also.
