  • thank you for this. my son was there and I still get upset watching.

  • A prime example of the actions of the few being represented as the actions of the majority, on both the side of the police and the protesters.

  • @paulfornasier - moreover, I will say this paulfornasier. I was walking around all day hoping to hear, maybe some relevant commentary, as to what issues were protested. Instead, it was really a bunch of gibberish about how central banks are owned by rich (idiot comment, they are public institutions) and how cbc is a tool of harper (please, if anything they have a lib bias) etc ... It really was foolish. If you lefties are gonna protest stuff, please get educated first. U owe us that at least.

  • @paulfornasier - bottom line is this. Police created a route north on spadina for protestors to follow to protect the interests of other society members. Protestors chose to confront police and try to force their way down queen. After protestors have demonstrated that they chose confrontation, police acted. So they surrounded protestors then arrested one by one. Police are forced to surround and contain cuz if bad elements get behind them, the situation can break into very violent confrontation.

  • @paulfornasier - another example of leftist spin. When I was there, the police arrested this one dude. There were 3 officers holding him. He was screaming "look it takes 3 cops to get me". Rubbish! That dude was 120 lbs soaking wet. My sister could kick his butt. Any one of those police, individually, could have used stronger force to subdue that dude. Instead, they used three cops so less force had to be used. Of course lefties spin that as 3 cops ganging up on 1 dude. Bull cookies.

  • @paulfornasier - I am not paranoid. I was witness to many clashes between protestors and police that day. But I had enough common sense that when I saw police lines forming on one side and protestors on the other, to remove myself from the middle of that situation and pulled back behind police lines. It is common sense to recognize when there is a potential situation the police have to contain a situation first before they can neutralize it. Not paranoia, but common sense.

  • The arrogance of the protestors was evident. As they blockaded the street a trolley came by. In the trolley was a passenger. The trolley had to be stopped, emptied and manually pulled back. I was thinking "look at that passenger. He paid his taxes for these streets. He paid his fare for that trolley ride but does he get what he is entitled to? No, because a bunch of arrogant, self-anointed political elites choose to circumvent the law and democracy to enforce their views on others" Shame u thugs

  • moreover paulfornasier - why do you think police tried to direct them north on spadina. Easy. Queen was narrow with private interests proximate to the street that the police could not protect against a group that in recent history had shown to engage in vandalism. Spadina is wide and private interests are far back from the street. Protestors could march there with no risk to property and still get their "message" across. But nooooo, protestors decided to stay and confront the police.

  • paulfornasier - I am not deluded. I never said that the police never surrounded and arrested the protestors, they did. But only after they gave the protestors the chance to go north on spadina. Sure, after the police provided a route north along which to march, but protestors chose to stay and confront the police .. sure after that the police arrested them. What would you expect? They broke the law. The streets belong to everyone. We have rules as to how they are used.

  • why do the anarchists have to ruin it for everyone?

  • fight da powa!

  • this is an amazing video my friend

  • If people were so fucking stupid there wouldn't have been riots. Canadians have the right to a peaceful protest, not a riot, where private businesses are vandalised, where police property is burned, where it is no longer peaceful. Think before you act.

  • The OPP was part of it too? damn

  • the different between these people and the police is that they get pay to watch you standing in the rain =)

  • how is it that no one rebelled? is so ridiculous! Come on, breaks a fucking bottle on the heads of policemen!

  • Is government going to learn it's lesson about having a major summit like the G8 & G20 in citys like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary ect. are not a good idea, doubt it. Having the summit at a smaller venue like London Ontario, Lethbridge Alberta or even somewhere else remote would be a good idea.

  • Yeah just arreest a dude for talking on the phone ffs!!

  • stunning footage and editing

  • I never imagined this could happen in a First World nation. ...least of all Canada!

  • people got arrested for saying thy have to go home?

  • Nice tribute Chris. Makes you wonder what happened to our Charter of rights and our democracy. I think this is the beginning of a police state. If they get away with this our way of life as Canadians is over. Welcome to the new world order.

  • Don't censor me. I'll keep posting!!! Do you live in a country where freedom of speech is censored??? Obviously, by the looks of things and the way Human rights were violated on your own people, yet you Canadians put on a front on the world stage that you are a country who promotes, protects and upholds Human Rights!!! Yeah right!!! By the looks of things you look like you live in a country run by cops.

  • The Black Bloc were cops instigating.

  • Lol, boo-fucking hoo you stood in the rain...if you where in Iran you could be shot...if anything you sheep should have busted through the police line...you fucking coward Torontonians

  • im the bodyguard behing the cameraman 0:47 lol man it was so bad

  • Awesome editing bro, I was the guy with the red bag and most of the time yellow rain poncho ...

I wasn't in your video but from watching it I know you got me on film.

I was one of the last people to escape Queen and Spadina :p

  • @winks420 I also stayed, soaked and cold, for the duration to witness our great police protecting democracy from those who think their political views should be so elevated above those of everyone else in society that they have the right to hijack and seize taxpayer funded streets so that they can jam their views down the throats of other people. Not a single person was arrested for what they said during G20. They were arrested for how they said it. Long live civil democracy!

  • Hey Bro awesome editing of the video .... You got some excellent footage at the G20 bro ... I bet I saw you down there.

I was one of the last people to escape Queen and Spadina on Sunday.

  • That really made me feel, great work!

  • Wow......great footage... were you held at the holding center...I love how you used the crosswalk sign at the film... keep up your great work

  • It saddens me greatly that the woman brought her baby to this event. I sure hope that she was not intending to protest with the child there in her arms because the availability of the LRAD is extremely dangerous to the child.

People will protest and law enforcement will maintain the orders but please... pick your fights. To declare war on the banks is your choice, but be responsible with your children.

When you feel that you have been 'legally' enslaved by banks, know what side the law's on

  • It's funny that I've watched this video about five or six times, and this was the first time I was able to catch myself in the video.

4:27 on the right edge of the frame, under someones umbrella.

  • @denmar411 awesome! I'm glad I could immortalize you like this lol

  • @christer1414 there is a guy jumping on top of the bus shelter, in your perspective I'm to the left edge of your frame, do you have footage of me shooting this? White collared shirt with blue jeans and a grey/green crumpler sidebag?

  • @denmar411 I see a guy with a green shirt and a DSLR. Is that you? And if it is, not I don't have footage of you shooting this lol. I only got that moment.

  • I was also there - this pretty much launched my career.

  • Thank you for the video. I was there too..

  • @MrAntiGod You're very welcome! I'm glad we all shared the experience.

  • Thankyou for posting this up - Much respects from the UK

  • The police behaved like third world thugs. The G20 summit was the best thing that ever happened to them because they could have carte blanche in mistreating the public. Way too many people have filed complaints for this to just have been random situations or isolated incidents. I hope some serious litigation occurs, because the only way to teach lessons is through money.

  • Great video, I was there and was arrested, held and released five hours later.

Question, what did you record your footage with?

    Thanks, Respect!

From the guy with the "Tyranny Response Team" shirt.

  • @manwello15 Hey thanks very much! Lol I saw your shirt and definitely had to put it in there. Everything was recorded on a Panasonic Hmc150. Such a wicked camera I am really loving it.

  • Great video. I was there and got detained .

  • ★★★★★ Brilliant! Excellent Production! Not a word but much said. When Protesters and Patriots use the same tactics on the Police, that is when the real battle begins.

  • police cars wer on site left alone for 7 hours before they got smashed.

    it was a news OP.

those who got arrested sorry for you guys .

next time lets just protest but where they dont expect us .

  • those riot squad pussies are guilty of treason every one of them. we as canadians do not employ our police to intimidate and abuse our citizens simply for expressing their opinions.

  • those riot squad pussies are guilty of treason every one of them. we as canadians do not employ our police to intimidate and abuse our citizens simply for expressing their opinions.

  • I want freedom as much as anyone, I really don't see how you can get it just standing in front of some Darth Vader loving Cops. They push the people away from the G20 and the powers that be laugh and go about destroying the world. Honestly this is not a protest, its a brawl

  • Fucking pigs

  • I was there. Chris, I have about 500 photographs from when we were penned in on the north side of queen until shortly after the rain started - if you have any use for them, let me know.

  • beautiful video

  • Why are all the idiots the immature, uneducated, tattooed, pierced, punk ass losers look like they where abandoned by their families and dropped on their heads when they where babies? We need to declare open season on these protester idiots and give them a good spanking. Take them out back and give them a good beating and watch them cry like babies. Should be in the USA where store owners can shoot them in the head and be done with it. Save tax payers the trouble of housing them in prison.

  • great vid

  • well done

  • good stuff. i sweat i pissing in my pants becuase I had a huge ice tea drink and could go anywhere so I had to do it.. it was raining anyways so no one noticed and i was forced. it was scary moments for sure

  • Great coverage and brilliant editing! I was there too, but I left when I noticed all the Toronto bike cops leaving (shortly after the tear gas squad arrived). There were a few times last weekend taking photos when I almost got caught in the police net.

  • @IdealistDreamer lol smart. I saw my opening quickly closing and just sort of felt that I needed to stay. I'm very glad I did. Even though this incident was small, I still felt like I had to be there to film. Very weird, I know.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh hey, it's me :O

  • Thank you so much for this! I was there, stuck in the rain for four hours. The sad thing is, I consider myself lucky that this and being surrounded by cops on Queen Street (some in riot gear) with my friend are the worst things that happened to me. Very well done.

  • @sherry5851 Thank you very much! We were lucky. Things could have gotten much worse. I feel for both sides of the story: the police and the protestors. Both had the right and need to be there, and both were heavily criticized for their presence. But at the end of the day, we all emerged alive and unscathed. That's enough to be thankful for.

  • @christer1414 Unscathed? Not at all. I still have panic attacks leaving my apartment, am *very* aware of my surroundings wherever I go, I do not trust the police...unscathed? Not for a very long time...

  • @sherry5851 I truly hope that this experience didn't scar you for life. The police were there defending the city from what had happened the day before. The protestors were there defending their civil liberties. Yes, it was a confrontation of ambitions, but that doesn't mean that one should fear one side or the other. We were caught up in something a larger than us and we have a story to tell because of it.

  • @christer1414 Why did the police LET what happened the day before happen and how does that justify arresting over 1,000 people (none of them charged with "the events"), roughing up old women, taking people's artificial legs, lying about the 5-metre rule and about using weapons, threatening gang rape to women at the detention centre, never mind leaving people in the rain for 41/2 hours. You bet that this experience has scarred me and I will never trust the police again.

  • @sherry5851 I have panic attacks at night that radical leftists, anarchists and scofflaws will again hijack the streets of Toronto and use intimidation and violence to threaten law abiding members of society. I am still concerned as I am sure many are still cashing their govt cheques waiting for the next opportunity to threaten the rest of us. Only the reassurance of police protection gives me comfort. Thank you police department(s) for a great effort.

  • @sfgoodfella I am a law abiding member of society who works full time in addition to doing volunteer work. I was law abiding that weekend. So it is OK to indiscriminately round up over 1000 people, none charged with the vandalism that occurred, and let the rioters run wild and *then* ask for pulic assistance in catching them, all for $1 billion of your dollars? If you agree with all this, then I hope you enjoy your police state.

  • @sfgoodfella You are a totally misguided fool. Let your misguided fear run you...and see where you end up. Would be nice if you used your eyes and ears to see truth, rather than spouting right wing police propaganda. If anyone is collecting a public cheque, it's you...

  • @paulfornasier What the heck are you talking about paulfornasier? More left wing delusion? I do not spread police propaganda. I saw the whole thing live. The marchers marched toward the corner of queen and spadina where the police formed a semi-circle to direct the march north up spadina. The marchers did not feel that they had to listen to the police and tried to force their way through the police along queen. The stopped and squatted and started yelling "let us through". more ...

  • @sfgoodfella Watch the CBC reports about the event that are posted on Youtube,. The people WERE told that they could leave by going north on Spadina but when they eventually chose to do so, they were confronted by riot police closing off that avenue.....and they had no way out at all. If you would have stayed in the situation as it further developed, you would have seen the end result. There are many sources to confirm this.

  • @sfgoodfella AND....your statements of paranoia are bizarre for someone who sat there with all these peaceful citizens in front of a police line (supposedly). What the hell were you doing there in the first place if you have such delusions of paranoia??

  • I commented to another observer that I thought was a reporter but eventually turned out to be an undercover RCMP (he identified himself to me). I said "look at these people. Anytime they want, they are free to march north on Spadina, but they want to stay here and pick a fight. Then after the fact, they are going to spin it as some sort of oppression." Idiots, who think that they are above the law that the rest of us must follow. I fear nothing but the ignorance of the left wing.

  • @sfgoodfella And I'm supposed to believe that? There were several videos posted from overhead that clearly showed 2 groups of people completely surrounded by the cops, with nowhere to escape. You're deluded if you think you were there.....or you are mistaken about a completely different situation.

  • amazing capture. i was there as well.

  • I feel very bad if I missed anyone, but I tried to address all the recent comments individually. I want to thank you all for the amazingly kind comments I have received. I am still very new at this and it is truly awesome that you all enjoyed something that I created. You have all been an amazing motivational force for me and I truly want to thank you for that. Thank you for the subscriptions and thank you for the love. Once again, this video was for all of us.

  • amazing.

  • im the girl at 50 secs with the baby. thats my oh my god i cant believe this is happening im terrified face.

    **in solidarity**

  • @chubbyfemme

You brought your infant baby to a protest?! Great mothering...you're a shoe-in for mother of the year.... You serve as a prime example of why granola hippies should wear condoms.

  • @Ejoe19 LOLZ

  • @Ejoe19

I'm very happy you understand the importance of birth control, kudos, but let's keep the name calling out of it?

  • @chubbyfemme why the hell would you take your kid to a protest

  • Incredible and great video Chris! I was detained in rain too. I was in first group boxed in at Queen Spadina and shot my own video. See on my youtube channel: hellomotivatorman

  • some very powerful images, beautifully shot. I still can't believe this is my city.

  • @hrhnikkiawesome Thank you! I'm a bit overwhlemed by all the kind words on my video, but I'm thrilled that people seem to like it. It was a very surreal experience to be a part of in my home town.

  • I saw an article my friend posted on facebook and the story was appalling! There is no way the police can justify their actions!

  • phenomenal work! What camera/lens?

  • WHY WASNT THE EATON CENTER OPEN?!?! I WANT TO GO SHOPPING!!!!

  • @nobodyknewmusic i lold

  • Hey OP; you're a fag. Nice granola eating newfag video

  • quality.

  • Stopp at 3:59

    London Police in Toronto?

  • @RuiCarlosSoares Yeah I saw a few Saskatchewan police as well. They came from all over for this.

  • @christer1414

But Saskatchewan is a territory in Canada!

Is London also a city in Canada ?

I´m from Germany and I only know, London in England/Europe.

    3:59 is Canadian police?

    Or is it England/Europe police?

    excuse my English

  • I was also part of the group that was detained and arrested. Thanks so much for making that video and being brave enough to film even as the police closed in on us (I know I felt scared to pull my camera out for fear of making the situation worse). It was emotional watching it and remembering how scary it was. I relate to the feelings you had of being afraid that 1 person would do something stupid to provoke the cops. Beautifully filmed. It hit close to home and I teared up while watching it.

  • @littlegirlracer81 Wow thank you very much. I was, dare I say, fortunate enough to be apart of this experience in order to share it with everyone. When someone can feel those sorts of emotions from my work, it really is the ultimate compliment. So thank you again.

  • I know it might be trivial with everything else that happened, but hope your equipment survived the rain.

As an fyi, I did see a class action lawsuit being prepared for those kettled in. info at G20queenandspadina AT gmail dot com

  • @Cameronx Lol that was my first concern actually. By the end when I was escorted out I had said "Alright guys I'm under arrest and that's ok, but please give me back the umbrella. I managed to keep this camera dry for 3 hours and I don't want to fuck it up now." lol Shows you where my head was.

  • Thank you Chris.

I have a greater appreciation for what happened on Sunday.

  • This is really incredible footage. My I inquire as to which video camera you are using?

  • @Studddder Thank you very much! I was always paranoid it was too shaky but now I think it sort of suits the mood of the action. It's a Panasonic Hmc150. Such a good camera.

  • @auroraron If your interest is saving tax payers money, look at what 1 billion spent on security only to in circle small number of people for hours and without cause. Each one be released. This crowd was made up of professionals, media, world cup spectaters and many other people. I hope your 'shoot them' comment was in regards those causing damage and not this peaceful march. I hope your just being a troll.

  • @Cameronx I do not agree with the 1 billion spent on security but that means nothing now because these dumb ass punks took away from that point and put the focus on their terrorist acts. Those people down there where told to back off and could not follow instruction during a riot so it suck to be them but I don't feel sorry one bit. The rioters are to blame. They need to be policed and there is a price to do it. Yes SHOOT THEM like in the USA or any other country. End of problem.

  • @auroraron Hmm. I'm going to assume that you are generalizing, which is the poison that corrupts the masses. The anarchists were not protestors, they were extremists who gave the peaceful protestors a bad name thanks to the media not willing to differentiate between the two.

  • @christer1414 There is LOTS of video that CLEARLY shows those so called peaceful protesters protecting the extremists as you call them. You guys stood around and let it all happen. You did nothing but get in the way of police trying to enforce the laws we made to stop these criminals. Your getting in the way is a criminal act and is part of the criminal code in Canada. It is far worse then breaking a window btw. You should also be in jail you dumb ass punks.

  • @auroraron Epic opinion. Misguided, ignorant and blatantly right wing, but is an opinion non the less. I've responded to the first inbred message with grace, however I won't hold my tongue again. Most of the "dumb ass punks" were regular people who wanted to get out and see what was happening to their city. According to you, we should all be locked in doors so as not to disturb the order of things. I love posts on my videos and I love discussions, but sometimes people can just be thick.

  • @auroraron You are an ignorant fool. On the Saturday, when most of the violence using Black Bloc tactics went down, the cops were told to stand back and let it happen. They were ordered to.

What do you have to say to that?

  • @auroraron how bout you look at the cops in 2007 Montabello Quebec, Where the cops dressed up as those "little punks" you refer to and threw rocks at the cops to start riots and to justify what they did after that . exactly what happened here in Toronto, 1999 in seattle . happened in van olympics too but the van police were smart and didnt start beating the shit outta people.. its called cointel pro false flag to justify the many wrong doings the cops did on the 2nd and last day.

  • @chucktaylorcss WTF does Quebec have to do with Toronto? You where all seen breaking our laws, damaging property, obstructing police and breaking a number of criminal codes. You dumb ass punks lost and the law won. WE made the laws and you better get used to living by them. Too bad the rest of still have some respect for those laws or you would have gotten a real good beating from the rest of us. Try your dumb ass shit in the USA and the second you enter a store they will blow your head off

  • @auroraron please buy a dictionary and learn to use it. Don't you feel embarrassed when you not only express a very ignorant position, but do so in a way that exposes your grade 9 education?

  • @christer1414 Plenty of video showing those "peaceful" protesters protecting the "anarchists" and interfering with police in the lawful execution of their duties. We made these laws and police had every right to be there and enforce them. Your a bunch of punk ass morons. You have no respect for OUR laws and other peoples property. You likely never owned anything, or held a job before. Its not media its video here that shows it all. Wish I was there I'd give you a beating too!

  • @auroraron They are OUR laws and the protestors had every right to be there peacefully. I haven't seen videos of peaceful protestors PROTECTING the anarchists. They don't like them either. Anarchists are counter productive to ALL peaceful rallies. Police do not have the right to beat people because YOU don't like them. And if by being there to film I deserve a beating, then maybe so do you for being ignorant.

  • @christer1414 You have a right to film. I did it for 15 years I have been on both sides. maybe one day you will learn too. Your rights end where others begin. Second, you do not have the right to interfere with police. If you do then you should be arrested for it. If you resist and get a beating in the process so be it. You do NOT have the right to interfere with police and it does not matter if you think, or know that they are doing anything wrong.

  • @christer1414

I'm an anarchist. I do nothing to cause violence. Not all anarchists are extremists, some of them had the same experience you had. Don't blame the majority, blame the extremist.

  • @auroraron a little more evidence of your ignorance sir. the anarchists are the ones you have a problem with. The people in this video and many others of this day are pedestrians stranded on an island in a sea of police. These people stood there in the rain for hours because they did not want to approach the police line and be arrested or beaten for no reason. these people are the law abiding citizens that just wanted to see what was going down on their streets, waiting patiently to leave.

  • @christer1414

I dislike how people are turning this against the Police. Yes, it's unfortunate that some people who weren't involved ended up getting caught in the middle of this, but if you don't want to get into trouble, then don't go to where the trouble is. Secondly, people say that the Police were too hostile, could you imagine what would happen if the Black Bloc Anarchists actually made it to the G20 buildings? Far worse things then being stuck in the rain for a few hours.

    Continued.

  • @christer1414

Also, people say that Police were acting too harshly. I'm not sure if you heard about the Riots that took place in 2007 when the Montreal-Canadians beat the Boston Bruins in the first round of the NHL Playoffs, rioters managed to torch and smash 16 Police cars, and that was just a Hockey Riot. This had potential to be way more dangerous. That fact that only 2 Police cars were burned and some windows smashed is amazing considering how passive the Police were trying to be.

  • @Syzygy36 My thoughts exactly. I'm very thankful that no one was seriously injured in these demonstrations. Whatever side people take, hopefully everyone can appreciate that fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @auroraron

Hey, since you generalized about me, I'm gonna do the same to you. Since we both have the right to.

How much education have you obtained? My university degree looks pretty nice on my desk, where I think my mature thoughts in a head most assuredly never dropped, except in despair, and most assuredly with a haircut you'd call "punk ass" but I call "awesome".

And it's our ability to agree to disagree on this that I was trying to protect that day.

    You're welcome.

  • I was the guy with the Everything is ok sign,

  • I was reading your reply's and some disagree with the video and some say well you shouldn't been there and you should of know to if you lived downtown. The last that I checked this was a free country and I and many more didn't know just by walking by either you were going to work or heading home from work you would be arrested without cause just because the protest chose to walk down the street you were walking home on, If this was in your backyard would you lock your doors and don't come out?

  • What a beautiful video it shows all the emotions .... I want to save this as like you I was arrested @ Queen & Spadina just for being in the wrong spot at the wrong time and I was in that rain too for hours my heart goes out to all the others that were in this mess .

    James

  • This was a good quality short film capturing those 'moments.' Thanks for sharing.

  • I have a fantastic idea, every G8/20 summit from now on will be held in Russia or China.

  • Chris,

    That was a great video!

    Luke

  • I'm spreading this as far as possible.

"As I said on my fb:

Documentary filmmaker Chris Harris just allowed me to understand what happened to me on Sunday June 27th in the heart of my own city, my own home.

I understand the world around me in terms of narrative.

I am an English student, I can't help it.

I needed this inconcievable moment in my life narrativized for me and I'm grateful someone wi...th means and talent has done so.

    Thank you, Chris."

  • This is beautiful footage no matter who's side you are taking over the whole situation. The music was a superb choice and went so well with the editing. You got some very picturesque shots in there comparing both sides. Wonderful job.

  • @tbagandbonkers - totally agree with you. I don't even live in the area, but I was smart enough to know from Saturday's escapades that it would be a stupid area to go and hang out in. Those poor police officers in all that layers of armour in the heat having to deal with arrogant little people shoving their cheap little cell phones and cameras at them and shouting obscenities. Maybe if this society (especially young/middle age) had some respect for the police, we wouldn't have such apathy.

  • @msshabbyfufu The police changed attitude not the people. The entire point of having on the ground police commanders is to use subjective opinions to police the situation. I was at King/bay and it was way more crazy. BUT, the police chief was super awesome and talked with everybody and kept an open line of communication to and from police. Seriously dude, the media portrayal is something else. Don't judge everyone because you stared at a TV for a few hours.

  • Dude great job on the editing!!! Solid edits! Could we by any chance see the raw footage?!?! Would love to experience what you experienced there fully from start to finish

  • Great job with the video!

  • i admire your work.

and the picture quality is gorgeous,

what type of camera was used?

  • I was there and was appalled at the treatment we received.

  • thanx for the video man.. i stopped taking pictures when the rain started because i didnt want to take my camera out.. but i wish i did because it got f***ed anyway

  • this is great editing,

    quality stuff!

  • @ilive2write Thank you very much!

  • @ilive2write thank you very much. I've said it before but all this positive feedback has truly humbled me. I'm very glad I was a part of this experience. I hope I have made something not only for the individuals involved, but also to share the experience with people who weren't.

  • @christer1414 i particularly enjoyed the way you transitioned it, the depth of field and the different points of "view" incorporated within the piece. is film a large hobby? you're pretty darn good at it.

  • @ilive2write Why thank you! It's something I'm getting ready to pursue. It's mostly just been what you've seen on my youtube page (although I think I have about 2 more videos on my Vimeo account that aren't here). I haven't really made any money or anything from it yet, so it still very much a past-time. Hopefully I can make that past-tense within the next year since this video has allowed for some unexpected exposure.

  • I'm in this. Thanks for sharing. What a bullshit experience. Most people arrested worked and lived in the area (guess that's why they kept all the shops/restaurants open.

To all those saying we had it coming for being there...some people had no choice because there is home! That's the same argument as "she wore a low cut top, so she had it coming when she got assaulted".

This whole thing was a giant mistake.

    Thanks again for posting this.

  • @tbagandbonkers Sorry man, but if you live in the area, you had the choice to stay in your house and wait for the proverbial "smoke to clear". In fact, the people who live in that area should have known better since they would have seen first hand the riots that happened just HOURS before this happened. Nope...you're not going to convince me that you just HAD to be there when the protest was going on. I'm not saying you got what you deserved, I'm just saying you could have avoided it...

  • @neilsaxby you missed the entire point. You have taken what the police and media have spoon fed you. No one was doing anything. The person beside me that got arrested was there because she worked at the horseshoe tavern on the corner. How do you explain that? It was a normal day on queen street. The "protest" was 50 people walking around singing.

  • @tbagandbonkers It was ANYTHING but a normal day on Queen St. It was anything but a normal WEEKEND in Toronto...
