Yeah...I have a big ego, so I tend to try to think I'm the best trumpet player in the world. Truthfully, I'm not, especially if I can be out played by someone younger, like this "Ms. Venema". Amazing performance, though the last note sounded a little strained.

It's Melissa Venema during a concert from Andre Rieu in Maastricht (Dutch). Don't think that if you can't play trumpet that well, no one can.

I agree. I used to play trumpet professionally and have (shame) at times faked it with recordings (eg. for sports events) - she is definitely playing - HOWEVER I can't see a clip mic or a backpack on her so I doubt that the sound we are hearing is live. In essence, I think she is playing along with a recording (like I did a couple of times)

I know what you mean.

But i know about Andre Rieu and i know that they normally use stage microphones (above, in front and even in the back of the orchestra) And i don't know for 100%, but as far as i know, Andre never used backtracks.

Everyone uses different mouth positioning and because of that everyone develops different embouchure.

However fact is that this girl plays trumpet (and very well for what i think) and the sound you hear is her sound.

@rj5347tamu sure, but posture affects how your air flow is and how your breathing is. say she were about to hit a very high note, if she were slouching and not holding her horn up as she is in this video, it would be nearly impossible. you notice she stays in the same range of notes the entire course of the performance, only varying rhythms. if she were to hit a high note, she would have lots of trouble. i agree she's very talented, but improving her posture would be very beneficial to her.

Um das zu erkennen, braucht man nicht mal zwingend selbst Trompete zu spielen. Es reicht, grundlegende Kenntnisse von Akustik und Tonaufnahme zu besitzen, und schon weiß man: für so eine Audioaufnahme hätte die Trompete ein separates Mikrofon gebraucht. Andernfalls hätte das, selbst bei perfektestem Live-Spiel, etwas... nun ja... "anders" geklungen. Und kein Fernseh-Tontechniker hätte sich jemals drauf eingelassen :-)

A peça permite que crianças consigam tocá-la. Sou profissional na área de edição e vídeo.

O que notei, é que a criança toca em um ambiente muito aberto e o som está

sem captação adequada, mas o som do trompete está muito bem captado.

Jamais uma criança tocaria ao ar livre uma peça com uma altura dessas sem amplificação. A regencia está um pouco atrazada em relação ao som e o dedilhado da criança. Em edição, só se atraza todo o vídeo e não a metade dele.

aba meiner meinung nach sind die haltung und der ansatz völlig egal, solang es zum spielen gut funktioniert!!

..bei mir z.B. kann niemand einen ansatzfehler haltungsfehler etc. feststellen, bringe aber dennoch seit ca. einem jahr nichts mehr auf der trompete zusammen, obwohl ich fleißig übe und alles probiere und einen sehr qualifizierten lehrer habe!!

caro amigo, postura nao interessa muito porque eu conheço muitos musicos que tocam com uma postura quase curva e ainda assim sao bons musicos, outros que até têm um modo posição do bocal muito estranho mesmo mas tocam muito bem, as tecnicas por muito estranhas e incorrectas que sejam nao quer dizer que nao sejam efecientes, porem william eu concordo totalmente consigo ela tem uma postura incorrecta sim mas nao deixa de ser uma boa actuação

talvez o amigo nao saiba que muitas tonalidades saem so com uma posiçao dos pistons, por exmplo a trompa em FA qualquer musico que toque nela pode tirar escalas sem o uso das valvulas, ou ate mesmo so com uma valvula e o sem valvulas, é tudo uma questao de pratica e experiencia. abraço
