Axl still shows up hours late for GNR shows, and it costs the band like 1000 dollars for every minute they play after their scheduled slot and thats the main reason for slash leaving. Unfortunately, the newer GNR fans are left with fat Axl and some random, constantly changing lineup...

The Covelli Centre has a lot of really good people performing there its just like any other place that holds concerts and events. So I dont see how them being "so close" makes them "desperate". When you find a way to explain that to me let me know.

@allorockftw Axl would have been irreplaceable. For me, he's the greatest Rock N' Roll front man of all time. Axl got so big to the point where the media started bringing him down, just like it did with Brittany Spears and Michael Jackson. If people actually got to know him for five minuets they would realize that he's not a bad guy.
Having grown up with, listened to and seen (before and after the first album) the original GnR lineup, I personally would like to see Axl drop the 'Guns' N Roses' name and tour as 'W Axl Rose'. He's the only one left from the original band and it's not authentic for him to call his 'band' GnR.
@YoBroMan Well he got all the licenses and rights back when the band blew up in the late 80's early 90's. It was because of this that he tried to go digital when the current band members wanted to stay analog. Because Axl had the rights, it was his final decision. Although it is much more complicated then ''axl wanted to go digital and slash wanted to stay analog'', this is what ultimately brought you the Guns N' Roses of today.
@wolfthing11 Plant touring as Zeppelin, Roth touring a Van Halen, Tyler touring as Aerosmith, Vince touring as Motley Crue, etc, etc. All of Maiden's success came with the 'classic' lineup, Just like Leppard's classic lineup doesn't include Pete, or the Chili Peppers 'classic' lineup doesn't include Irons. It's really personal preference, it's debatable, but I just made a point regarding GnR, not meant to be applied to other bands.

I think the other reason it's interesting that people still care is because Guns N Roses, as good as they were, were not all that influential. Younger rock bands generally did not follow their direction in the way they did with groups like Nirvana and Korn. How many important bands are influenced by them?
@lamentate07 with guns n roses it was more the actual band members that were influencing. Take slash for example, many guitarists aspire to be like him or similar lead guitarist because of his playing style, appearance and personality

I met Slash and Duff at a strip club in Hartford CT.He's wife was with him. she was HOT as hell. A Hole Rose had been kicked out the previous night..and banned. I was kind of surprised how matter fact they were about it. Obviously they didn't care..lol.I was playing Pinball ( Bride of Pinbot) his people came over and said he wanted to play.. I got flustered and quickly flushed all 3 balls and turned over the table. It was surreal being around them that close.. Slash is a very easy going dude.

In his book he says during the Use Your Illusion leg of the tour he arranged for a Pinball Machine from the local arcade to be taken up the stairs to the 30th floor of his hotel so he could play it, he would rather play Pinball than spend time with groupies lol.
Guns N Roses also had an awesome pinball machine that I remember playing about 15 years ago, it was a load of fun, same as the KISS Pinball machine.

I But I could tell he was a fan because like me he was stoked that the machine was just serviced..it was out of service and down before, the board was really fast..bumpers crisp..the action was sweet.. @xxBarathakxx uhmmmmm well the Guns N Roes concert I went to was at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio .... and I live in Liberty (which is closer then 20 min) and they sounded awesome! The Covelli Centre has a lot of really good people performing there its just like any other place that holds concerts and events. So I dont see how them being "so close" makes them "desperate". When you find a way to explain that to me let me know.

Axl got so big to the point where the media started bringing him down, just like it did with Brittany Spears and Michael Jackson. Having grown up with, listened to and seen (before and after the first album) the original GnR lineup, I personally would like to see Axl drop the 'Guns' N Roses' name and tour as 'W Axl Rose'. He's the only one left from the original band and it's not authentic for him to call his 'band' GnR.

@YoBroMan Well he got all the licenses and rights back when the band blew up in the late 80's early 90's. It was because of this that he tried to go digital when the current band members wanted to stay analog. Because Axl had the rights, it was his final decision. Although it is much more complicated then ''axl wanted to go digital and slash wanted to stay analog'', this is what ultimately brought you the Guns N' Roses of today.

@wolfthing11 Plant touring as Zeppelin, Roth touring a Van Halen, Tyler touring as Aerosmith, Vince touring as Motley Crue, etc, etc. All of Maiden's success came with the 'classic' lineup, Just like Leppard's classic lineup doesn't include Pete, or the Chili Peppers 'classic' lineup doesn't include Irons. It's really personal preference, it's debatable, but I just made a point regarding GnR, not meant to be applied to other bands.

I think the other reason it's interesting that people still care is because Guns N Roses, as good as they were, were not all that influential. Younger rock bands generally did not follow their direction in the way they did with groups like Nirvana and Korn. How many important bands are influenced by them?

They had a huge impact in the late 80's/early 90's though. shame they imploded. they seemed to have it all. Not even the 'grunge revolution' could stop them.

I used to live in the Farmington valley ..Connecticut... A Rose had family there we used to laugh about it because there were a lot of A hole wannabees dressing like him... we wondered if it was really him half the time. I met Slash and Duff at a strip club in Hartford CT.He's wife was with him. she was HOT as hell. A Hole Rose had been kicked out the previous night..and banned. I was kind of surprised how matter fact they were about it. Obviously they didn't care..lol.I was playing Pinball ( Bride of Pinbot) his people came over and said he wanted to play.. I got flustered and quickly flushed all 3 balls and turned over the table. It was surreal being around them that close.. Slash is a very easy going dude.

In his book he says during the Use Your Illusion leg of the tour he arranged for a Pinball Machine from the local arcade to be taken up the stairs to the 30th floor of his hotel so he could play it, he would rather play Pinball than spend time with groupies lol.
Guns N Roses also had an awesome pinball machine that I remember playing about 15 years ago, it was a load of fun, same as the KISS Pinball machine.

I But I could tell he was a fan because like me he was stoked that the machine was just serviced..it was out of service and down before, the board was really fast..bumpers crisp..the action was sweet.. But I was outmatched..I was a video Arcade Manager for many years so I knew a better player when I saw one. My favorites are The who's Tommy, and Adams Family. Pin bot and bride of top 10 for sure.

@andybirger I have seen Axl's recent stuff, it was a hell of alot better than his Rock N Rio performance...can't say I am a fan of DJ Ashba deciding to wear a tophat, smoke, and move like Slash.
It's easy for kids to get confused, DJ Ashba is putting himself in more and more lead sections to the point where Axl may not need 4 Guitarists. However, they say it's flattering when you are copied, but some say it's sacrilege to still tour as Guns N' Roses, when the only original gun or rose is Axl.

When you've just turned old enough to drink and you have a Number #1 Debut Album, bank accounts go out of control, so does common sense and that's how they wind up hooked.
Every single one of them is sober, the only one who I'm not sure on is Axl himself as he has never publicly admitted or denied any recent substance abuse.

@jaymie8266 Well, both Germans and the Dutch come from the Germanic tribes of old, they are distant ancestors(I think) so that could be why they get confused. They are very similar and are neighboring countries. Quick question, do you know how to say "the" in dutch? I don't, "the" is German is der, die or das depending on the tense(past/present/future) of the word succeeding it. It's cool sassy pants! At least we're not spewing hate all over each other about this like a lot of youtubers.
