Some people actually need a program like this. i.e. Disabled People. I myself am disabled and have been unable to find work even with a college degree. However, I do volunteer 40 hours a week of my time and help the community as much as humanly possible. It is unfortunate that discrimination takes place. People need to understand that by cracking down on discrimination they will actually save a lot of money by reducing the need for puplic assistance, Not everyone is a free loader

many apartment complexes and neighborhoods dont accept section 8 vouchers is because the residents dont want them. we lived in a really quiet place. then they made one street section 8. the crime went up, all day all you could hear was boom boom from cars, everytime somebody moved out they had to rebuild the house and it drove the prices of nearby homes down

I used to have Section 8, what a nightmare that was....the landlord did not fix things to keep it up to code, there was chronic crime there, etc...The landlord would harrass to the point I had to call the police. HUD would not do anything and it says right on their website, you can call the landlord complaint line, which I did 3 times, to no avail. What a waste of taxpayer's money. They care about money and nothing else. My next door neighbor died from a mold related lung infection...!!!!!

we were screwed out of our last apartment by HUD and a slumlord.Then they rented to hud recipients.HUD should not ever pay a slumlord again who refuses to fix things they do though.I am angry with HUD.WE have no civil rights here.I am disabled and have 2 young children 10 and 11.We are discriminated against

In California, the only people on long term HUD housing are the drug addicts. My elderly grandmother after losing everything in Hurricane Katrina is denied any housing and any rental assistance.

HUD housing should be closed down , if it cannot help the elderly and disabled then it should not exist at all. Call Congress to let them know what you think. Not that it will help.

What you posted is exactly right, And every where you go here in Los Angeles for a decent apartment, You find out that there is a waiting list a mile long. Alot of apartment buildings don't accept section 8 vouchers. I have driven through parts of downtown la where homeless people live ,and it is horribly crowded.

If there is an issue with failing inspections, this woman can choose to do the repair work herself. However, HUD (a socialist construct) like other socialist endeavors creates an atmosphere of entitlement, and dependence. Why is this woman recieving welfare payments for 28 years. average small home mortgage in my town is $350-500 average Apartment rental in my town is $400-700

no banks will pay any mortgage now a days and Hud only takes you if you have perfect credit
