  • Also, look at that rare line of thunderstorms you see near Allentown and central jersey. That's also something that you might seen during the summer as opposed to the end of December.

  • I remember that night. A line of severe thunderstorms came through. In fact, the NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning.

  • The Earth is 4,000,000 miles closer to the Sun in late December than it is in early July.

    Could be an effect of Solar Perigee? We always called that the "December Thaw" back in Connecticut.
