i fill propane tanks at the elevayor i work at. i alays wonder when id b filling a tank used to power a live steam locomotive. maybe i filled the tank used for the loco in this vid.
great video. i live not far from where the real locomotives were made. its nice to see the live steam vesion of the allghenny. it b nice to see the real thing operate wouldnt it?
1604 is in no condition to be restored. ur best bet is the 1601 in Michigan. 1601 hasnt been touched since they moved her there under her own steam. looks like shes in great condition. good luck on the lottery. when u get the restoration started let me know. i wanna help bring them back.
Hehe...it'll be right after I reengineer a GG1 so it can use environmentally friendly transformer cooling methods and get one back on the rails. Hey, if the Brits can build a 4-6-2 from scratch...
Maybe the guy who just won the $232 million Powerball is a railfan...
Gotta love the shot where the 3 or 4 'train guys' converge on the engine for some "maintenance", with the little oil can and all, LoL!! Liked the "aerial shots" from the JD Cabin!! (c:
never mind the train I likes the trailer with C&O on it LOL

@microbusss I did too. They had some coaches over to the side that had faded CNJ logos too.

as much as I love that whistle, I still think they should find a hooter for it.
ronthecyborg 1 year ago
@ronthecyborg Do they make scale model whistles that could hit a low note like that?
FastFlyingVirginian 1 year ago
I'm pretty sure. The reall hooters were pitched higher than the lowest note on this whistle....
if you really want to be sure, just search up "Allegheny 2-6-6-6 video footage" on Youtube. The hooter whistle is one of the first things you hear.

Yeah, it would be nice. When I win the lottery, I'll call up the B&O Museum and see if we can't put the 1604 back on the road. :)
