  • forwardbias...she was ordered into reverse and "Hard Starboard".... if that's the case the captiain turned into the iceberg, but only glanced it. Had he hit it head on... the ship would have never sunken. Is it only me or was there some reason for them to save money or something by never bringing the bulkheads up to the deck so they wouldn't spill over to the next compartment? She was doomed before she was launched.

  • Brilliant vid!! <3 so sad and haunting...

  • I have this book of images, still gives me nightmares. It was ultimate terror. A ship supposed to be unsinkable. Going down, and not enough for even half aboard. Luckily Titanic was only sailing at like half capacity. More than 3,000 could of died if fully booked... Its like 9/11. Seeing those towers fall, even if on TV. This was like the 9/11 of 100 years ago, instead of intentional evil though, it was just too much trust in technology. And lack of regulations.

  • hey my name is also matthew and love the titanic ! ;D

  • hey my name is also matthew and love titanic ! ;D

  • It was the 9-11 of her time, a horrible way to die... Jumping into water, so cold, it was like thousands of knives stabbing into you... If you were even lucky to jump off ship, most 3rd class never had a chance... They were trapped below.

  • Hey how come I can't play it on my iPod??

  • @justin10347 i don't know, i don't have an iPod lol ^_^

  • Evidence shows there was never no reverse order. Engines were not altered to minutes after the collision. According to someone that survived in the engine room. So for the reduction in turning theory that the ship lost turning by stopping and reversing. The ship was still going full speed when it hit. Sooner the ship would of missed, later the ship would of taken a more direct hit, to one or two compartments. Ship would of stayed afloat... If the bulkheads were just afew feet higher...

  • the first old clip is of olympic not titanic

  • No ship is unsinkable, even Bismarck, 14 inch steel, 32 compartments, and taking over 1000 hits from british ships, finally the Germans, gave up and sank her at their own hand. Though Titanic was far from a battle ship, many felt as her being safe, unsinkable, but she sank, from rather mild damage. Her pumps could only pump out 10% of the water coming in. From a mild glance from an iceburg. If Titanic had hit head on, the ship likely would of survived, but with a violent jolt to passengers.
