  • I love the Stars on the wires.

  • very beautifully made!

this is the best graduation cake that i've ever seen!

    yet i have a question

How do you make the star fondant stick on to the stick that is there?

    please answer

    thanks

  • thanks for that comment...you made me blush!

to make the stars I rolled out my gumpaste to about 1/8'' and then got my wire put a little bit of gum glue (tylose powder mixed with water and allowed to make a syrup like consstency or get some gumpaste and adding water to dillute it), then stuck the wire into the star. I let mine sit on the board for a minute or two and then let dry on a styrofoam block. easy...maybe i'll make a tutorial on how to do this.

  • no problem

    thank you for the reply!

  • Wow, great job. Your writing is so good and your icing looks so smooth. My writing is horrible. I really like your cake.

  • This is great! I SO wish I could pipe letters like you! I love them! And thanks for the advice about the icing...I looked up Sharon Zambito's icing recipe..I might give it a try! Thanks again!

  • Just beautiful! I love the whole idea. My sister-in-law is very involved in conservation and the environment so when she turned 40 I gave her a copy of "The Lorax" along with a Banksia tree (that's an Australian Native plant) in a beautiful pot... she loved it.

  • Very nice Chris! Good job! :)
