Watch at 3:12. Jeff adjusts his bass, not hitting the strings and the bass plays a fill! He's not playing bass on the show! There must've been someone backstage playing for him. I know that sounds crazy. But the bass is note-perfect the entire song, while he's jumping around so crazy. I know he's good, but no one is that good.

Jack Irons was Edie's pal from his San Diego days and filled in nicely.

Dave was technically good ( that's a given) but a band is more a sum of it's parts than a bunch of individuals and he just didn't fit in as a band member. Binaural is a great album too. Pearl Jam album is a let down I'll concede.
