  • Yes sir I love songs like these and we Sing em' at Weeping Mary Baptist Church. White Oak, SC every sunday. Go Head Gethsemane do yall thing

  • I really enjoy thise hymns! I'm so glad they are posted. Does anyone know of a posting that has "Tell Me What Are They Doing Up In Heaven Today"?

  • REMINDS OF THE CHURCH I WAS RAISED IN........... GOSPEL WATER BRANCH BAPTIST CHURCH!!!!!!!......THE SAINTS OLD IM 18 AND I KNO ALL ABOUT THIS

  • You have to go to a back woods country church to hear this. Boy do I miss this. I live here in Cayce, SC. The city churches have just about done away with the senior choir or songs like this. Even in some city churches they have done away with the Hammond. Man that sounds so good. Bless God.

  • I grew up in Mullins, South Carolina and this really is a tradition!!! I never could figure out what they were singing and didn't really appreciate it until I was older. I am passionate about genealogy and when I studied my family history and their struggles just to survive in SC... I started to understand how they could come to church and sing this way... Again, I can appreciate it now but then I didn't.

  • this is singing at it's best!!! FROM THE HEART.. I grew up on this......Do you hear that harmony!!!! MY GOD

  • At times I feel as if i am fighting to win the prize, but when i listen to this, I realize that my praises have continued to go up and the blessings are still coming down....Hallelujah

  • This video is a blessing, because I'd heard of this tradition but never experienced it firsthand, even via video. Bless you, Gethsemane.

  • Then don't listen to it..thanks!

  • The folks in the oongretation know the songs. There are hymn books.

  • I have no clue what they're singing......To be brutally honest it sounds like they all just went up & just said let's just sing something.

  • @Scorpion603 The words are by the great hymn writer Isaac Watts (1674-1748)

Must I be carried to the skies

    On flowery beds of ease,

While others fought to win the prize,

    And sailed through bloody seas?

The method of singing is fascinating.

  • @Scorpion603

Dummy the song leader gives you the words. You don't understand English.

  • It is singing....just not the type you're used to.

  • its the meaning of the song, and idc what nobody says this sounds gud

  • Surely you are not serious!! Its supposed to be sung this way, in this churches context! My God, don't limit a songs potential to it being sung in one fashion. That kills it's true Spirit!

  • i love it...........
