They do. Bonnie Hunt is a total dog lover and often does dog stuff, and there was an irritating piece on the (second half of the) Today show recently with Kathie Lee Gifford and the other host whose name I can't remember. Of course, it was the hosts who were annoying. Anyhow, they were, with Cesar Millan, promoting shelter dogs. Okay, so Kelly wasn't on either show, but they do do it.
