I wanted to swap a Ve30de on my 3rd gen maxima. But the car is a GXE and it has the Vg motor. Would the motor fit with the GXE's RE4F02A tranny nd ECU?
The transmission is at full line pressure, which means less slippage and instant shifts. The RE4F04V transmission is a VERY tough transmission, easily capable of holding 400whp on a constant basis at the drag strip. It's the RE4F02A transmission that Nissan used in the 89-94 Maxima that can't hold much power.
The 92-94 Maxima SE automatics have the RE4F04V transmission. The 95-99 Maxima also has this transmission as an option, but it's a different casing since it mounts to a VQ engine instead of the 92-94's VE engine.
@Aaron92SE yea, 5 months after i posted this comment to you my tranny started slipping. its been abused nasty all its life it has 278k miles before it went out. it slipped for 2 weeks straight and finally gave out completely.
so yea i believe u their strong trannys! not sure which one i had but its the locking one on the 95 vq
My transmission currently has over 210K miles on it and it's still going strong. The car currently has a VQ35DE engine swap which is making over 270whp All Motor. Please check out some of my other videos.
@Aaron92SE no shit your tranny is fine you only have 270 whp. my 95 corsica came with that right off the lot lol. 270 hp lmao. why did you bother writing this? honda accords have 260 off the lot
@MediaMisDirected You know it's not good to lie about your corsica, it never came out with 270whp off the lot. More like 160whp...with 185lb ft..... if you have the 3.1 v6.
All Motor, it was around 180whp. With the 75 shot, it was around 255whp.
But I just swapped a VQ35 engine into this car. It should be putting down around 270whp ALL MOTOR. I may be spraying it by Winter 09. Check out my other videos to see this new engine swap.

your full of shit
the car was only rated at like 180hp at the crank
then through the tranny (which is a shitty automatic) and all the wear and tear that car was only making about 120-130whp and with a 75 shot it probably made 160-170whp max
The VE30DE engine is rated at 190hp at the crank. It ran 16.7 stock in the 1/4 mile. After all the work and modifications I did, I got it to run 13.7 All Motor in the 1/4 mile with an estimated 225hp at the crank. It made an easy 250whp with the nitrous though.
Now, that 92 Maxima has a VQ35DE engine swap making over 270whp All Motor and runs 12s. Nitrous is soon to come too. :)
Get wet. It's safer. You might run lean with dry unless it's a small shot or you have an upgraded fuel pump and injectors. A wet kit is really easy to set up. If I could do it, anyone can...(Not to sound like a Zex spokesperson. Lol.)
I think this guy in the video has too big of a shot. A 4 cylinder Maxima with a 75 shot?? that's unsafe. Should be 55 max. V8's rock. they can take up to 500 shots. Extremely modified ones, I've seen a 1000 shot. that's crazy.
I knew a guy when I lived in ohio had a 572 caddy with a 300 shot and a 250 fogger lol......then he ditched the spray for a 8-71 blower......blew the engine on the 3rd boosted pass
the old maximas from the late 80's early 90's could be had with a four I used to work in a garage and I worked on a 93 maxima it was a four. I am not confusing it with an altima either.
It must have been a custom engine swap. The 89-94 3rd generation Maxima only came with a V6. A VE30DE and the more popular VG30E engine were the two that were offered. The Stanza looks similar and comes with a KA24 4 cyl engine.
I was a maxima. It defiantly was not custom the enigne looked factory and it was as old as the car. I was not a tricked out car at all it was an older ladys car.
I was not arguing with him I was just saying that I worked on a maxima that had a four in it thats all. I know what a maxima and a stanza look like. that engine was old and dirty like the rest of the car. It was also a single over head cam engine so it was not anything made to be fast.
not impressed...but then again I go 9s in the 1/4

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. How hard would it be to swap the RE4F02A for a RE4F04V into a GXE model?

Well, if I DID get a nitrous shot, it would be small. I have no interest in a shot that will ruin my engine.

Actually, a '92 Maxima has a V6. My '91 shares the same engine as the 1st gen. 300ZX.

That's why I use cars with V8s only.
Example..my 1950 chevy, that I bought/started working on, used to drag race...then sat for 2 or 3 years in a field. Started right up, no problems.
You can beat the hell out of them, and they still keep on going!
1093T 3 years ago
A 75 shot on a Nissan V6 is actually pretty conservative. Some people have done a 150-200 shot without any problems. It's all about the tune.
Aaron92SE 3 years ago
yep my friends old 200sx SER was running with a 150 shot single fogger... it blow up after 20-25lbs bottles.
