Single player is & should be the most important aspect of any game as thats where the true creativeness comes in any game! The Uncharted games have shown that this gen & the only game i think that could surpass the likes of Uncharted is The Last Guardian!

i never like shooting game storylines really if i want a game with a storyline ill go by like final fantasy kingdom hearts assassins creed or something although i will say gears of war always have good storylines uncharted call of duty and battlefield dont matter because you are a random soldier in a random squad and you arent memorable i love master chief but some of the story is a bit drab the storyline is always infiltrate then escape but halo is still decent

And I have ps3 and xbox! I mean look at when socom came out not the recent one cuz that was quite good but the one before that was just dog Todd the game was just multiplayer and it sucked big time!

You do see a subtle transition in game development where developers are adding Multiplayer or basing their single player around multiplayer which means it was enough of an emphasis to add into their game via; Mass Effect 3, Star Wars Old Republic, Uncharted 2&3, Dead Space, Warhammer 40k, and various other SP focused games.

I like BG's videos, but I think he was wrong on this one. I've been playing games since Pong. Amstrad CPC464, Commodore 64, Atari etc... I have been playing single player games since the very early 80s. Multi-players are increasingly becoming an important factor, but the campaign mode on games is absolutley still the most fundamental aspect of the game. MW3 and BF3 being the two most notable exceptions.

What people seem to not realize is that there's a ton, and I mean ton of consoles purchased who's owner hasn't even connect it to the internet. You can't just alienate those people. What memorable gaming moments ever came from the competitive online aspect of the game? People have fun stories to tell about their online matches, but you'll never get that experience a story can give you.

It's like mainstream music, it gets you hyped, fun to listen to over and over, but it doesn't touch the soul.

For me, gaming is mostly about the singleplayer. Don't get me wrong, I'll play some multiplayer if I'm bored, but I'm always most excited about the SP! Besides, after those 'MP-based' games have their servers shut down, what happens then? You are just left with some shitty singleplayer campaign and a broken MP that doesn't work anymore. I'll take my Uncharteds, Final Fantasys, Zeldas, Ratchet and Clanks, Jaks, Marios, the list goes on and on and on over any MP-based game.

I think it depends on what you feel like playing, sometime's online is cool sometime's just playing the single player is cool. Sports Games, Fighting Games, couple other game types that are good for multiplayer instead of just playing the Season Mode or Story Mode. Thing I don't like is online Achievements or for PS3 Trophies, I think them are lame.

I absolutely agree with you. But to me call of duty kinda ruined online gaming because all people care about is k/d ratios and stupid shit like that, but they forget to have fun! Like halo 2 online, funnest game ever, people really didn't care about stats and shit, well at least me. Also, halo's single player is very important, a lot of people forget halo has more to offer other than the games.

It depends on what you define as most. Battlefield, Cod (if you like it I fucking hate Cod now), Killzone, Socom, Halo, Gears, Twisted Metal (probably, not out yet on PS3 obviously). However you name games like Sonic, Batman, Skyrim, Ratchet & Clank (besides All4One), MOST lol, most games you named don't even have multiplayer. But SOME games that have both like Uncharted, Red Dead, GTA, (notice these are all 3rd person), & SOME games that have both like the ones above are better in mp. All cool.

Multiplayer is ok for those FPS games, but that's about it. I'm an SP mode gamer. If anything, MP is killing some SP titles because devs keep adding MP mode to games that don't need it and shouldn't have it. Case in point: AC:B...this game should NEVER have had MP. Never needed it. Now they're going to do it again with AC:R. I'll still play but won't plat either because of the MP aspect.
