OMG THE FIVE STAIRSTEPS, I had the pleasure of seeing them right here in my home town, PHILADELPHIA at the UPTOWN,,, Come On UNSUNG,, Step it up. This would be a great family group you guys should look into... YA THINK !!!!!!!!!!!
Actually when I went to the Regal Theater and saw the Jackson Five, I had thought it would be the Five Stairsteps. We only half read who was to appear there. In short, I always felt that the Jackson Five bit the style of the Stairsteps. Jermaine has a voice and way of singing like the Stairsteps lead singer. Just a thought. It's all about management of a group though because I know that the Five Stairsteps were better, even though I loved the Jacksons eventually.
very captivating song! I lov all the comments I dint know the history on this group! Go Chi-town and before the Jacksons what a shame they didnt get the recognition they deserve cuz they sound great!
LORD this takes a girl back to the real time in music boy I was 14 years old and had the nerve to be in love . Yeah this was a blue light special and you'd have your hair smashed in and sweated back lots of heat flowing. Miss thoses Days.

@boomerang905 And the Stairsteps were my Chicago hometown group. Even Curtis Mayfield wrote some songs for them. They were bad. Fore real.

Nuances galore in this song especially for a very young teen. Outstanding vocals, bass and drums.

If they were under the motown banner they would have been more famous than the jackson five.

this was the sound I grew up on. Wonderful and deep. How nice to hear REAL vocalizing with ACTUAL music (none of the sampeling stuff)

This tune was one of their many Windy C hits, peaking at #89 in February of 1967-
christheone8773 2 years ago
#89? That doesn't sound very impressive to me.
lwmson 2 years ago
That was the ranking that this tune received on the Billboard Hot 100 chart - on the Billboard Black Singles chart, it could have ranked higher-
