i live in Long beach too,my house was destroyed, I'm still living in government housing.=-(

I lived a bit up from where the video ended. I am in St. Louis, Mo now and missed home...came to this site...wow. I stayed thru it..worked with red cross...and animals...my o my...We didnt get help for a week and a half. Only Fema people ...bla bla...Now ther is a new underground economy developing...I lived by where the huge train sized storage containers hit...I was on the south side of the tracks..

as hard as it may be to be away from your home, sometimes its for the best....i had family move up to chicago after living in Homestead when Andrew hit...never looked back. I'm greatly sorry for everything you've lost

i was living in Biloxi for awhile one year after Katrina hit...but had a friend who was there when the storm hit in 05.

Not to be a stickler, but this is not the city of Long Beach. Its Pass Christian which is the city west of Long Beach. The church in the background is not St. Thomas and Long Beach's Hancock Bank is just south of the railroad tracks.

thanks for the clarification. honestly, it was kind of hard to tell when one town started and one ended, just because of the damage - and because i was relatively new to the area.

Unreal... My sister, Connie, lived in Long Beach and I grew up in Gulfport (since moved to Florida). Wow, it really wiped you guys out. Gee, if you only watched the news reports one would think only New Orleans was affected by Katrina. Thanks for ths video on Mississippi...
