The old saying stands "Buyer Beware" if something is at a price to good to be true it probably is best thing was to let it go for scrap. Have you had any more disasters since ?
why would anyone buy a car on ebay?i buy and sell cars but never on ebay or sell them on ebay .you must see the car u want to buy inspect it then offer.man even if you go in person u can still get a crap car now imagine on ebay were u dont see or know shit about the car?i hope you learned something new with you bad experience it happens dont worry keep buying just not on ebay.
@cagonesss nothing wrong with buying on ebay plus a lot of dealers now sell online the thing is if you go to look at any car and you dont like it dont buy it. simple as . what can they really do come on. leave you bad feedback lol. i being round to pick up cars off ebay and didnt like it so i didnt buy, and thats not just ebay thats local papers autotrader and a few other places
It might be best if you take someone with more experience when you buy another car. Things you might miss, he or she will probably spot. It's easy to forget to check specific items when the excitement takes over. I would agree about ebay, it's known as theifbay for a good reason. I also love the old Rovers, the 220D was excellent and the 1.8vvc was very quick. I once had a 216vitesse and 3500 one which was amazing for comfort - I miss Rover cars, they were ahead of their time...
Well we all have bought a lemon in our life time but the moment the advert said "new tyres" and you arrive and they are not new I would have walked away instantly.
Whats the warning about?? whining buyers that didn't get the amazing deal they expected?? i don't know why you are whining about it? you still made money on it, its not like you were led to belive it was in mint condition, theres noone here to blame but yourself so suck it up buttercup
A rover 416 with over 160k miles on the clock for £123, what did you seriously expect. you Walked directly into that one. Damage to the rear was clear to see, as is damaged panel work around the car. With that mileage a K series would definately have been apart before, at least once, HGF clearly noted, tyres are easy to check and if you reckon its been claimed for on insurance an HPi check would tell you. No sympathy, I buy and sell many old cars on eBay, its easy if you know what to look for.
Years ago, when I was still mechanically and electrically inexperienced, I ended up buying many dodgy second hand cars. My flaw was that I put too much trust in the common man to be honest with me, which I've now learned can be costly.
The majority of sellers lied through their teeth and showed no shame in doing so.
The lesson: DON'T TRUST ANYTHING ANY CAR SELLER SAYS AND ALWAYS TAKE AN EXPERT WITH YOU NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE FOR WHEELS
Timeout. U didnt get ripped off. In the Ebay ad, it clearly states "head gasket needs attention" so what are you complaining about? It was clearly stated
Always consult with Ron Jeremy before buying a used car. For that matter, ditto for a new car. An entertaining video, if you can control your emotions. Vulcans only, should watch this video.
@gardenspoon welcome to earth, and with the economy the way it is everyone is looking to take advantage of the other person,my advice to you and everyone else is....IF ITS GOOD AND CHEAP IT WILL NOT BE FAST.......,IF ITS GOOD AND FAST IT WILL NOT BE CHEAP.........,AND IF ITS FAST AND CHEAP IT WILL NOT BE GOOD..... is your choice
I'm sorry to be so abrupt, but you've only got yourself to blame not ebay. After winning the bid, when going to get the car and the car wasn't as advertised I would have asked for the price to be dropped or walked away. If u saw a car for spares or repair on autotrader or something like that, you go and look at it and it's not as it was it was in the advert, u wouldn't pay the asking price, you would barter. Ebay is no different
Who cares you made a shitload of money off the parts and probably ripped the people you sold them to so stick it I hope the gas had HCL or sand in it.
haha i love it when a plan comes together just like winding people up lol nah i only came across this cause i been offered a Rover 200 with a k-series engine in it but heard they had bad gasket problems so was unsure whether to get it anyway if he says 123 quid for it i'll tell him to fuck off lol no hard feelings hehe laters :)
i watched the whole video and nearly fell asleep this was obviously posted to warn all us dumbass's that sometimes people on ebay don't describe there items very honestly because us dumbass's would'nt actually realise they did such things on ebay my god what a complete waste of everybodys time wonderfull oh and its spelt liar not lair lol
@originalnutta2006 Great! I made a small spelling mistake! That happens while typing sometimes, you however don't understand what an apostrophe is for, or where to put them. Please bugger off you moron.
but that guy who sold it probably had exactly the same done to him ya cant blame the bloke for wanting to get rid of it anyway whats the point of wasting everyones time with your pointless and boring rant about ebay this could of been a space for something really interesting
@originalnutta2006 That guy may have had the same thing done to him - how does that make it okay? Why are you defending this guy - he was a lair, just the kind of seller that makes Ebay somewhere to be cautious of.
Anyway, you might think my video was boring, but then you clearly didn't watch much of it before you started writing your ignorant comments.
theres no pleasing some people i bet you made that back in scrap or selling bits and bobs. if i bought a car for 123 quid i think i'd know it was'nt gonna be quite as described lol
@originalnutta2006 What has the price got to do with it? Whenever I've sold something on Ebay I don't pretend it is better than it is, because it would piss the buyer off. As you've misunderstood the message in this video - yes I did make my money back, but that isn't the point, the point is that some sellers are dishonest and should be avoided .
@gardenspoon A tip of the hat to an honest fellow. Many people would have just tried to pass their problem on to the next guy. I guess there is nothing better than buying the old fashioned way. There is no replacing real human contact. Its much more difficult to swindle someone in person rather than dealing with them over a computer.
@alzebub666 Yes, I had a 618 - brilliant car, but slow. I actually prefer Rover's 2 litre engine, it's more economical and more powerful, but many fear head-gasket problems, but they are free from such glitches.
@Danny77uk I didn't, there was something wrong with the feedback facility at the time so I let it go, and I consider it to be my own fault for not looking at what I'd bought until I started to work on it.
I know what you've been through, Paul. I bought a horse for from Ebay once, but the stupid thing arrived dead. What good is a horse to me dead? I suppose I can cut off the head and put it in some bloke's bed as a prank. Whatever...
@hybridpanda I have bought and sold quite a few cars on Ebay - I just love messing with cars!!
My last car which has appeared in a few of my vids I bought for £366, cleaned it up, drove it around for 8 months and then sold it with a more accurate add and got £490 - didn't need to spend a penny on it. It can be quite easy to make a bit of cash.
i feel sorry for u i bought a 2009 vw jetta that was in "excellent" condition 16000 miles 1 carful owner
owned by some rent a car place , driver door would not shut properly, head was warped, infact there was so much wrong i could go on for hours
i sold the car in parts so made some money
