  • my great grandfather started this place back in the 30s. I WANT IT BACK!

  • I miss this place. Now its an expensive "Sweet Celebrations" :( No more Kays after bike riding or going to the park. I loved superman icecream and bubblegum icecream. We need to bring Kay's back immediatly! I been going there my whole life and then they closed it and changed it to sweet celebrations :(

  • Sad.....They closed ours back in the mid '80s (it's an Auto Zone now). Kay's sure had good banana splits!

  • It sadden's me also, I remember going there for ice cream after baseball practice at sandy springs park when I was 4 year old back in the 80's

  • i was soo sad when they closed :[[

  • At least they decided to keep the giant ice cream cone.

  • This is sad, I worked there when they closed. It brings back memories!

  • i remember the gas station beside it. the men would always give me and my brother bubble gum. c: but im going to miss that place. i loved the superman ice cream.

  • it's some kinda hi-end ice cream place now

  • Yeah, it does suck, theres still one in south knoxville though, but still sad =(

  • I remember that! It was right on the corner close to McD's.

  • But who remembers when this location WASN'T Kays and Kays was in Midland??? I do - shows my age.. ;-)

  • When was that? Where was it?

  • It was wayyy back when lol. Back when "New" Midland plaza was just Midland Plaza am I right utkgrad101? I live in Maryville figured I'd brush up on the old landmarks around here lol.

  • I'm not going to pretend to really care about the closing, sorry. The same thing is happening all over the country.

  • Just because it's happening all over the country dosn't make it any less upsetting. However, I hear the local Food City is going to start selling Kay's ice cream.

  • I'm depressed now...I used to go there all the time...

  • It is SOOOOO SAD!!! I live right across from it, I could almost see my house in some of those pictures. A true Maryville landmark closes
