  • Jerks, they dd it on purpose. Can't complan though I guess, I am happy they are alive but this scene convinced me that they were gonners.

  • I haven't cried like that since Titanic

  • they should have died. would have been a great metaphor for innocence lost and losing the childhood mentality as you mature. but this movie holds up, stil

  • I thought they would die at first when they started holding hands, I wanted to cry. But the claw at first made me jump then when I saw the aliens I laugh my but off!!

  • Any1 know the name of the music that goes with this scene?

  • my cousins all watched this without me when it came out and told me to go watch it by myself.. right before i went in they told me all the toys died and i didnt believe them.. until this scene.. i was sooo sad

  • Except that isn't really what happened in the movie. Evidently you didn't watch it @StevenBeDrummin

  • @HiddenFacedMatt i can understand how my comment confused you.. but i said UNTIL this scene i didnt say how i felt after the claw came.

  • Fair enough but you could have worded it better @StevenBeDrummin

  • The bit where Buzz takes Jessie's hand did it for me. Grown man, weeping like a five year old.

  • I really don't think I'm the only one who legitimately thought they were going to literally kill a part of my childhood. I'm not sure who was more scared, Woody, Buzz or Myself.

  • i remember fucking crying not in the theather but when i got home

    Im 16

  • Should have died.

  • I think i'm th only one but, i wanna see a movie about lot so and the garbage man! just saying...

  • I knew they would be fine, but why that scene got me: They didn't knew! For them they are really going to die and the most they could is die with dignity and together.

  • When i saw the blue light, i thought is it god? Then i saw the claw drop and i immediately knew who it was.

  • I watched this in my home theater with my family and I was about to get up from the couch and jump into the TV and save my childhood friends

  • Play dead island trailer music. cry.

  • When I saw this part, the only things going through my mind was: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! TAKE ME INSTEAD!"

  • if they would have died like that my childhood would have gone with them.

  • What i thought about the aliens after toy story 2: their funny but pretty pointless

What i thought about the aliens after toy story 3: YOU GUYS FUCKING RULE!!!!!!!1

  • man this would have bean cool if they died

  • @clubzacyhgg45 Asshole

  • @agentringer hey i'm just saying

  • I remember I was thinking in the IMAX theater "NOOOOOOOOOO!" IT CANT END THIS WAY! this is by far one of the greatest PIXAR scenes in Film History

  • @hprules25 Lol hail the 90s

  • The Claw!

  • I remember sitting in the theater watching this when I was 19 years old and seeing little kids crying at this scene and i thought "YOU DON'T GET TO FUCKING CRY! YOU DIDN'T GROW UP WITH THESE TOYS LIKE I DID!"

  • @hprules25 same

  • @hprules25 So because of this they aren't allowed to cry? How does that work?

  • the part that gets me is at 1:00 when Woody (being the fighter that he is) is still trying to climb & find a way out, only to look at Buzz and realize theres nothing more they can do

  • lyk dis if u cry evertim!

  • @Chosenwaffle i wud lyk if u didt youz unnesasari grmr erorz

  • @Chosenwaffle I cry, but I don't Like gibberish. That nonsense stopped being cool years ago (if it ever was cool to begin with). Grow up already.

  • damn this is intense

  • To me this is symbolic of Jesus and the church because when we think its all over and we think we're about to get consumed with the flames of life he comes right in the nick of time

  • Man this scene is so brilliant even just the music in the background reminds me of everything this scene means even every visual, with just the music by the way, and I tear up ;-;

  • i start lose hope when at the part when buzz hold jesssie hand T_T

  • I didn't find this scene sad at all..I knew they weren't going to die. Who the hell would of thought they were going to do that in a damn PG movie. The ending scene is where the real sadness is. I wept a little at the end.

  • @rodrigopacheco12 it wasnt made for kids it was made for the people that grew up with toy story

  • Cars 2 has nothing on this. what happened pixar?

  • @WtfSimpleplan It wasn't a bad movie. People just hated it just because the protag is different.

  • @gerardz101 I personally didn't like it, but I can see why people do. There's just no scene in the movies that comes close to being as great as this is though.

  • @WtfSimpleplan Yeah I kinda agree, it was mediocre at best. But in no way it deserved 38% in RT. I honestly think everyone's expectation are so high that anything that wasn't as good as Toy Story 3 'sucks'. I just happened to watch Cars 2 before Toy Story 3 so it doesn't really affect me I guess.

  • @WtfSimpleplan

what happened is they made over a billion dollars in merchandise off cars 1. as hard as it is to face, pixar actually sold out.

  • I wish i woulda saw this in theaters just to see everybodys reaction

  • This scene really touched me, just seeing them all in a predicament that's to intense for them to get out of, and just seeing all there little hands coming together, then seeing woody looking up to all of them it seems like he would say wtf are you guys doing? Since he always has something to say about the plans they make, then shortly realizes theres really nothing they can do and then joins them.

  • I thought this film was good and all, but personally, I would've liked to see the toys catch Lotso and throw his ass in the fire. Then he would scream in agony while there would be detailed animation of his "fur" being burned off, exposing the cotton underneath. Maybe his eyes would melt off, too. Sure, this would've given the film a PG rating and given millions of kids nightmares, but hey, even Sesame Street did it with their I-beam. I'm pretty sick, aren't I?

  • mute this video and listen to this while you watch it /watch?v=mjWs-TkjaaQ

  • @CHUBBLE117 Dam that was epic, really great song choice for an amazing clip

  • This scene ALONE is why I KNOW Toy Story 3 was ROBBED of overall best motion picture at the Oscars that year.

  • This scene was so beautiful to me, how they all faced their end together. I almost felt betrayed when they got rescued. But then we got to see Andy's last playtime with the toys at Bonnie's house. So it was worth it.

Is there anything Pixar can't do? Besides curing cancer.

  • Thank god for those lil green alien dudes they are some true life savers!

  • It annoys me that some felt that this scene should have been cut from the movie. Earth to parents: Good movies require genuine conflict. If your child cannot handle said conflict, feel free to leave the theatre or not take your kids-movies shouldn't have to be watered down so you can babysit your kids for two hours.

  • This is the most moving scene in the whole Toy Story trilogy.

  • i cried at this scene:(

  • This scene is the reason the green aliens are now my favorites of all time.

  • I'm 12 and I grew up watching Toy Story. I nearly cried watching this scene again. :(

  • There's something so visceral and authentic about this part. The expression in the eyes is worth a thousand words. So well done.

  • I don't have to watch the whole movie to bawl like a baby on this part....

  • I already disliked Toy Story 3 because in my opinion, it lost the humorous and zany qualities that the first two movies possessed. This scene basically made my feelings for this movie spiral out of control.

  • Lotso featured so prominantly in the trailer and merchandise that I had no idea how much of a massive cunt he'd turn out to be. Was anyone else disapointed that he wasn't ripped apart by dogs at the end?

  • @Beelzeboogie i wanted him to be burned like shit....the pixar people gave him a not so deserved ending

  • So here's an insight into my thought process while watching this for the first time:

Ha! Cool, how are they going to get out of this? I'm sure they'll be fine. Im... sure... they'll be fine. There's... nothing.... to worry about. They will be fine won't they? They'll... be... Oh god what's happening? What are they doing? They can't do this! They can't do this! No! No! NO! STOP THE FILM! STOP THE FUCKING FILM!

  • @Beelzeboogie exact same for me. Even though it's Toy Story and a kids film, and this kind of thing happens in every movie, and I thought I knew better, somehow I was convinced that they could actually kill them off.

  • i. cried. so. damn. much.

  • Only those who watched the first 2 series can fully understand what toys had been through in their whole life. after their owners grown up, most of them will rot in the dumpster. Woody and his friends are only the lucky ones...so, please cherish your toys.

  • @EP1KCAMPER LOL XD

  • And one manly tear was shed that day. :'C

  • am i the only one that got pissed off when it didnt show the ending in this video?

  • The first time I saw this I was shocked...the movie had been just okay until this scene (I never get the full impact of anything the first time I see it) but this scene, the garbage truck and dump scenes...wow, I got them right away! I don't think I've ever been as "on the edge of my seat" as I was for this. Awesome!

  • I was hysterically bawling in the theater when I saw this, I really thought there was no hope. The part when they hold hands is so heartbreaking

  • god I was blubbering like a bitch. Best films ever

  • GOD BLESS THAT CLAW.

  • Oh my Glob, you guys, DRAMA BOMB!!

  • Dis shit iz emosh :')

  • The look that they gave each other was so powerful and moving *sighs*.. it was too real of a moment

  • In the theater, me and all the other 18-20 year olds in the room were sobbing, thinking there was no possible way they were going to escape from there and we were all as scared as Woody and the others were, but then out of nowhere...THE CLAW SAVES THEM! Me and a bunch of other people lept out of our seats and whee cheering! we were so relieved!

The newer kids who don't even know these characters didn't understand, screw them :D

  • Damnit, I'm crying all over again.

  • Pixar trolled the shit out of us.

  • would've been the ballsiest move ever if Disney just ended it on this scene

  • @Tmartin1438 the scary thing is, they were going to. for once they wern't going to have a happy ending. that was very early in the writing stages though. before they though up bonnie.

  • After I saw this scene, I thought "Ok, that explains the Academy nomination." A good movie ellicits emotions from the audience.

  • *toys holding hands and accepting their fate*

Every single adult in the audience who grew up with these characters: *crying their eyes out*

  • the claw!

    everything makes sence

  • THE CLLLAAAWWWWWW

  • DUring this part in the theater, I couldn't get the tears to stop flowing.

  • Who else genuinely thought they were all gonna die?? :(

  • @coneheadification I was Like No Way is this how its Gonna end And started crying and I'm like 23

  • When i saw this movie i was 14 and i cried when i saw this seen i grew up watching toy story and if they died like this it would be really sad

  • Comment removed

  • I told my friend as she was about to see this movie in the cinema, that they all died at the end. She didn't really believe me and laughed at me as she went in. Later she came out totally red-eyed from bawling, cringing and weeping through this entire scene because she actually started to believe what I said was true.

I felt like such a douche hahaha.

  • i grew up with toy story and i cant remember the last time i was as tense as i was watching this unfold. im still a kid inside like many of you, but there's nothing wrong with that.

  • Omg I was with my friend and we both looked at each other with tears like "this is no way to end toy story!!"

  • Can you imagine what the movie would have been like if they weren't saved?

    Epic publicity stunt.

  • One of the most emotionally intense scenes in the history of cinema.

  • @EP1KCAMPER

Lol. You kinda replied faster than I expected. Still, lol.

  • @EP1KCAMPER

Damn. What happened then? Did you get kicked out or something?

  • "Buzz, what do we do?!" *We Die*

  • 1:23 i really cry so much in the theater

  • i cry

  • JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, PIXAR!

  • Growing up with this saga.

I cried so much at this scene.

And as I looked around me

    I saw I wasn't alone.

    Except for the little kids

    They did not understand.

Didn't get to know all these characters.

    Didn't care at all.

    Fuck them.

  • @Nerupe0 LOLLLLL

  • @Nerupe0 IKR!!the kids beside me were making"MEH"faces,me and other teenagers(that i dont kno)were crying so much

  • @Nerupe0 don't be so hostile. they'll understand one day.

  • @Nerupe0 - I just adore how poetic your comment is! And honest too :)

  • I am a 16 year old heterosexual male. I am still fucking crying.

  • God when Buzz holds his hand out to Woody, I was openly sobbing in the theatre, at least 40% sure that PIxar was now brave enough to kill the entire cast.

  • i showed this movie to my little niece on dvd, and pretty much at exactly this time the dvd broke and i couldnt get it restarted.

you cant imagine the sea of tears i had to deal with, there was quite the explainign i had to do to her parents when i delivered a crying girl back to her parents.

  • when i saw this in the movie theater, i was crying...literally, i was crying

and on 1:26, i thought it was the most beautiful thing that came to Toy Story

  • *ehem* at the theatre Teenagers and young adults crying, Little kids like wtf its not that sad?

  • Only one minute? Honestly I remember it being alot longer.. it took forever

  • don't fucking cry, dont fucking cry, dont fucking cry

They all hold hands and accept their fate

    Cry.

  • Me and My friends were all in tears at this point... And we never cry at movies.

  • I cried like a baby at this part

  • Me and my friends all held hands during this scene and when i saw everyone doing the same thing in the theaters . I cried so much during this movie.

  • Manly Tears were shed.

  • 0:35 The manly creys begin.

  • Brilliant. Only word for it. Hope they don't make another though. The story has been rounded off perfectly. Speaking as a person who has grown up with these films I think this film was the perfect end.

  • Damn you Disney for scaring the hell out of me.

  • wish i'd gone to see this in the cinema

  • this scene...will be a classic for many years to come

  • our toys that we grew up with ... can we imagine their lives? I think they had their own life beyond ours

  • I was 15 years old when I saw this in theaters and I can honestly say I teared up

  • Currently in tears, get me every time :')

  • When they get saved by the claaaaaaaaw , my friend stood up in the theater and clapped hahha (:

  • @BlackHispanicTParty cant tell if troll or just really stupid

  • @BlackHispanicTParty Or it's most likely the fact everyone grew up with toy story. and seeing this We think "oh god it's going to end. Is this saying my childhood was just inevitable?" Take your god-speech to church. This is the internet. A godless realm of lulz and other people's misfortune :D Besides. Jesus went to hell when he died. He just came back which allowed others to start going to the other place hurr.

  • @BlackHispanicTParty I am 12 and my dad is a preacher you dont see comment like this any where spread it around I have spent my youtube life trying to stay as good as possibly but everyone seems to wanna cuss

  • I actually thought it would have been a good ending if they burned. It seemed more likely.

  • If it weren't for Deathly Hallows Part II, this would've been the movie I ugly cried the hardest over.

  • so i have been betrayed by 2 characters i trusted alot since the summer, lotso and sentinel prime curse you guys for making me trust you! haha :) i love those movies :)

  • U made me cry once again.

  • anyone else getting the feeling that this is too deep for a kids movie? lmao but im a 90's kid through and through.

  • @theblackstratocaster - Toy Story was a kid's movie but now it's for those of us who were born in the 90's haha, and who grew up loving these characters...little kids nowadays are into that prissy stuff, so yeah this is way too deep for a modern kid :p

  • My god this scene is intense for a G RATED MOVIE????

  • I swear, it was brilliant to leave this sequence mostly dialogue-free. The way the music swells and all the emotions flit through the character's eyes-*sob*

Even as a cynical adult watching this KNOWING they weren't going to die, I still cried like a baby.

  • @Lopoddity You damn right. I cried to, and the music and their face emotions is really intense.

  • Ive seen this scene at least 30 times and eveytime I see it I cry. The 1st time I saw this in the theater and they started holding hands I just said in my head "Screw it Im about to cry!"

  • It would be cool if they had the toys get closer to the flames and then have Woody have a flashback or flash before his eyes about his first meeting with Andy

  • pixar is this generation's disney

  • There was dead silence in the theater when this scene played.

  • There's something about Woody's expression that gets me. He's usually so optimistic, and he's the leader, he always has a plan and he almost never gives up hope. He cheered Buzz up in Toy Story and helped Sid's toys. He gave Jesse and Bullseye a new home, and helped all his friends to escape Sunnyside. So sinking and knowing he can't get out is just heartbreaking.

  • I swear I always tear at the part when buzz offers woody his hand. Something about the look on woody's face during that moment Rly gets to me :(

  • @banjo1154 Yeah, that is sad. It's like all the fight went out of him when he just realized this was it.

  • Heartbreaking scene. Pixar is such an brilliant company.

I love Pixar movies, but for me the Toy Story films will be the most beloved of all that they made. I was 8 years old when I saw the first one, so Woody and the others stick with me after 16 years. Every time I watch Toy Story (ecspecially the third one) I'm feel like became a better human.

  • The emotions. THE EMOTIONS.

  • The moment Buzz held Jessie's hand I was screaming "NOOoooOOOOooOO!

    "

  • I was surprised at the fact that my eyes teared up my first time seeing this.

  • gotta say, i really thought they were gonna die a horrible flaming death the first time i was watching this.

  • Don't worry guys, there's cake at the end!

    It's so delicious and moist...

  • @Oscy +10

  • @Oscy The cake is a lie!!!!

  • @Oscy the cake is a lie

  • NOOOOO! MY CHILDOOD!

  • This is so touching I cryed so hard
