  • 4 people still use MS-DOS

  • I Don't Think it's for rest of us because it's cost around 2000 $

  • @suraat2011 You know that the macintosh was cheap when it was out?

  • @vajksziget7a The mac was a lot of things when it first came out: cheap was not one of them. I'm a total Mac Fanboy from 1986, but cheap? Hardly. I traded a Toyota Land Cruiser for my first Mac, that's how NOT cheap they were :-).

  • the original macintosh is to modern desktops as the macbook air is to laptops

  • computers wont have as advanced as much as they have or the past twenty years. computers as we know them are reaching their physical limits and without a new form of computing, the computer wont advance much farther.

  • whoaa. watching these things amazes me.

what do you think people would think of our computers in twenty or thirty years?

    ha.

  • @KellanLikeWhoa computers wont have as advanced as much as they have or the past twenty years. computers as we know them are reaching their physical limits and without a new form of computing, the computer wont advance much farther.

  • @commandercool1337

That's what they all say lol, sure were getting so small that size itself is a fundamental problem. Nothing the field of nano electrics can't solve. Were in for smooth sailing till 2025. Then if we want to keep going smaller, we'll need a revolution.

  • wow Steve jobs looks freaking young just look at him today

  • People: Oh My God It Has A Mouse

    People In Our World Today:HOLY ******* *******

  • LOL At the end it sounds like he said "Those ass whippers"

  • oohhh yes "for rest of us"..., until you see the price of it !!! :)

  • To all mouse comments here, Apple did not invent or first commercialize the mouse. The one who invented the mouse it was Douglas Engelbart. Bill English invented the ball mouse while working at Xerox PARC. The first commercial mouse was made by Xerox.

Apple copied the Xerox mouse and made it cheaper. Apple also copied the Xerox GUI idea. Microsoft later copied the mouse and GUI too in windows 1.0

  • yes but another british man called Leonard Kleinrock invented the internet but bill gates stole the idea and he got all the money. Almost 3 trillion dollars to be exact. and Leonard Kleinrock was left with fucking nothing. bill gates is a fucking copy cat retard.

  • Leonard Kleinrock invented packet switching and contributed in the ARPANET. It's not the Internet as we know, the current one has many different protocols like TCP/IP.

I don't know what you mean by "Bill Gates stole the idea". The Internet Protocol Suite (or Internet as we call it) does not have anything to do with Microsoft. They just implemented it like any other operating system did.

  • ye but bill gates never said it wasnt him that invented it. with really pisses me off

  • Ok, I see you don't like Microsoft but I wasn't trying to say Apple is bad or that Microsoft is good. I only mentioned the fact that Apple did not invent the mouse because many people believe otherwise.

Anyway, I believe that pisses you off because misinformed people think Microsoft invented the Internet. If its that I'd like to add that many people also think that Microsoft invented the first operating system.

  • Agree w/ you man

  • The difference is that Apple says that they got everything from Xerox, and Microsoft denies it.

  • I know that what you are saying about Apple is true (saw it in a video) but your statement about Microsoft I don't know lol. Since I'm not from that time so I don't know the details. Maybe you're right.

  • @Sparagas and after, microsoft copies everything from apple

    Pirates of silicon valley

  • WOW... i cant believe how young Steve looked... :'(

  • lol i remember these macs at our school when i was in like kindergarden, they froze ALOT ALOT ALOT

  • at 1:39, what was the song or music?

  • when he said 32 bit it was like YEAH IN YOUR FUCKING FACE IM 32 BIT (back then)

  • the thingy said "its a PC from mac", how odd..

  • said"its a personal computer from apple"Thats different irwin770

  • PC = Personal Computer...

  • well PC DOES mean Personal Computer

  • They were really trying to get the single click idea out. Shame it never really followed through.

  • Steve Jobs = Brad Pitt.

  • gud to see pulling out of bag is not new... except that the bag is replaced by envelope .. ;)

  • hey lol i never thought of that.. yeah the macbook air...

  • Its ironic that the new iMac has actually gone back to the keyboard without the numpad, regressing back to the original.

  • Actually, numpads are very useful, as they separate the numbers from the letters, so most people can input numbers quickly. Numpads are also a quicker way to use a calculator, rather than clicking on the on-scree buttons. The arrow keys are also very uncomfortable for games on the new keyboard.

  • Well, you still have a choice at no extra cost :)

  • If you really think about it... if steve jobs had anything to do with the themes of the apple commercials.... these ones look just like the new Apple/Mac commecials (ie. white bacground, and emphsis on useabilty)

  • No more scary voice or freaky music anymore thoe...

  • Actually Xerox invented them.

  • iMac G3: the computer for the rest of us.

Mac OS 9 on the old Macs (pre G4) are still the easiest to use computers ever.

Mac OS X = complicated. most people don't know what to do when a kernel panic comes up.

  • Thank you as well

    xbox360nicster : )

  • yup, apple invented it first as far as I know

  • Thank you

    Allusikthebest : )

  • no Xerox invented it and showed it to Steve Jobs and he stole their Idea.

  • bought the idea. Steve's mistake was to do a non-exclusive contract, which worked as a loop-hole for Bill to do Windows.

Yet, Xerox only had a GUI prototype, Mac is the one who came up with a cool, easy to use interface.

  • also xerox tried to make a computer and it was huge! the macintosh was better and smaller!

  • Apple Lisa wasn't even the first commercial mouse. Xerox was the first one to make the easy and "cool" mouse interface (the ball mouse)

  • I dont get why they emphasis the mouse...

did Apple invent it before Pc ??

  • Yes, they did, actually.

  • WOW : O

That is a shocking peace of Information !!!!

( at least to me :)

This now confirms -still to me- that PC didn't come up with any new innovations since the 80's ( I could be wrong )

    Thank you

    ComputerTechCentral : )

  • they also invented firewire and helped develop usb!

  • Why did they always make computers that revolting colour? It would surely not have been difficult to just colour the plastic something else?

  • i like how after the other manuals dropped, the mac still dropped a manual, it was just a smaller one. wasn't that big but couldn't they have just like moved the mouse like they did in they other commercials.

  • beautiful ads

  • How much would one of these sell for?

I just got mine for free from a friend at my high school.

    B)

  • over $1000

    MACS RULE

  • The real genious of Macintosh is that you don't have to be a genious to use it.

SO MUCH POWER IN THAT LINE!

  • The last one is the best

  • its amazing how the commercials have never changed. pretty cool

  • i had one...then we tossed it...probably made some trash guy happy on ebay

  • Wow! One my parents old computers that we have sitting around our house that we don't use anymore looks like the computer in these ads.

  • I found that one ad to be rather insulting. "You don't need to be a genius to use it. It's the computer for the rest of us". I can just imagine being a person sitting at home watching TV at that time and thinking "Oh, so the people at Apple think I'm stupid. Well then, screw them! I'm buying an IBM."

  • Because if you were old enough to know that DOS was really hard to use compared to mac OS and Xerox.

  • Actually, I did use DOS before I used the Mac OS. The reason I never saw that commercial is because I was not living in the U.S. at that time.

You might want to try reading my first comment again. I was talking about the fact that they said "You don't need to be a genius to use it" Some people might have interpreted that as meaning "the people at Apple think I'm stupid"

  • i got 1 of ebay lol

  • too right!

  • nah, it's more like mac = regular people, microsoft = nerds, losers, fat kids who still live with their parents, and fans of role playing games

  • says you, noob

    by the way,

PC is classic, while Mac is just the second choise, besides, MAC isn't as good as they say it is. Windows Vista is PC while Mac, not so good

  • ummm...so then you're saying your want to compare vista to mac os? lmfao!!!!

  • not exactly, aoll im sayin is, Windows came first, and their good at makin PCs, and Macintosh is good for making iPhones, iPods, iCubes(if they actually exsist) and Laptops

  • when did windows come first? Last I checked Apple had a point and click graphical OS while Microsoft was still selling DOS

  • all i'm sayin is, I preffer Windows, I really don't like Macs as much, thats it, its like saying I like The Simpsons, and then you say that you like Family Guy. Thats it! I Like Windows more than Mac

  • windows is the OS...not the PC maker...Dell, HP, IBM...etc. and im not tryin to start a fight like u and richieeastside, but vista sucks..HOWEVER, i did use windows 95 and XP for the past few years. then i got a mac...lol macs are speedy and virus free in my opinion, windows has many uses and is top sold in the country...but mac also can use windows via boot camp...so they are better in their own ways

  • thats no good

  • some people have dwarfism and autism or lepra, i have dwarfism, how the hell i am going to succed in this world of the strong black peoples or reggaeton?

    why GOD WHY?

  • it feels like im watching the animal channel but for computers

  • My favorite computer!

  • song are nice

  • i miss ksts 48 in san jose "your computer connection" it was where my uncle would get all his latest news on the ibm pc or ms-dos all the way to apple.

all they show now on that channel is telemundo crap.. thanks nbc!

  • the music in these is awesome.

  • God! Don't dis OS 7!! I'd choose it over Vista any day ;)

  • Is true, is better then Vista

  • Can it play Crysis ?

  • i really want one of these WHERE CAN I GET ONE?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • order one off ebay

  • @DanimationUK i had one (the hd died) but they are super slow

  • mummy can i have a terminal?

  • does it has wifi??

  • wifi didn't exist in 1984, nor did the internet for that matter.

  • Too bad it can't mime.

  • I used to have that one. Yeah um.. The icons on the desktop were lost in the sides and I couldn't get my homework off of it. I was 9.

  • does anyone know where i can get mac paint and mac write?

either a download or a place to buy the disk.

    please someone reply

    tom

  • Macs have always been smaller.

  • It has good looks (FOR AN OLD MAC)

  • aw man too bad I don't know how to click :(

  • lol

  • Great Video, Thanks for posting :)

  • Doesn't cost half as much anymore!

  • amazing, the third ad's music.

  • But can this comptuter go on the internet at blazing fast speeds like the computers we have now. I bet it doesn't go on at all.

  • could any computer??

  • no computer in 1986 could even possibly go on the internet because it wasent invented yet

  • Internet was used by the military.

  • actually it was used by college students transferring data.

  • True That! Either way They Didn't Have Nearly Enough RAM (Their Minor 64kb) To Run Even Dial-Up.

  • Stop Typing Like This PLEASE!

  • No. This Is The Internet And I Shall Type How I Like.

  • "iLove" these ads! But I like the 23-inch iMac Leapord

  • I liked Mac from the start!

  • The words of iGod

  • i like 1.09 in this video

  • Theres something about macs, not the fact there built on simplicity, or that their design is incredible, or that their software is amazing, its.... Something about it that makes it different from all pcs, its warmer, its happier... its mac, and youl love it when you use it.

  • I have a Mac and you're totally right!

  • Yep, ya sure are

  • the only thing wrong with mine (ibook g4) is its as slow as HELL!

  • OLD MACS ARE BETTER THAN MODERN PC'S

  • Only if you're a short sighted retard who cant multitask and dislikes more than 16 colors.

  • Actually Darwin 9.0 beats the crap out of the Vista Kernel.

It has preemptive multitasking with a massive SMP and the kernel itself is preemptive... this means that it can executes malloc and kalloc with preemption... it has Distributed Computing that works as the same way as the SMP does. Plus is Unix Based and it has a huge amount of wonderful frameworks... like Core Animation, Audio, Video and Image.

It has a Mach Microkernel... it's BSD based too.

Mac OS X is the best OS in the world.

  • Yes OSX. Nobody is saying otherwise. For me to say anything to come from microcrap is as good as apple would be insanity.

Im saying that this guy who thinks OLD macs (read OLD- like PRE-OS9) are better than modern PC's is mental.

You can't do a LOT of stuff on an ooold computer that you can on a new one.

Did the old computer handle its limited capacities better than a modern computer handles its enhanced capacity? Yes. Is it better overall? That's debatable. it's certainly less capable.

  • What it means is that the Mac is way more carismatic than the modern PCs. With Mac OS X you were able to paint since 1984... with windows, since 1988. 4 years later.

  • A Mac...

It's more sophisticated, yet less complicated.

It's more powerful, and less cumbersome.

It can store vast amounts of yesterday and tell you what's in store for tomorrow.

It can draw pictures, or it can draw conclusion.

It's a personal computer from Apple

    and it's easy to use

    as this

    Omg that's a poetry...

  • mac4life

    :)

  • Steve Jobs. The leader for the rest of us.

  • Obviously!!!

  • :-D

    mac4life

  • Mac rules - that's all that matters. Down with windows!

  • I agree with "down with windows" but I'm with linux ;)

I'm not saying that mac isn't good (I haven't tried it yet) but I'm just saying that linux is... also awesome

  • Apple and Linux are two way to found perfection... Apple is perfection found in elegance, equilibrium and simplicity. I think that when you use a Mac you can feel the cosmic armony. Linux is so good because is perfection found in communion and collaboration.

Windows? What is windows? Just a system done for money.

  • lol that's true. Apple looks really slick where as too linux is a bit more complex. But remember the old saying: "Conmputers are like air conditionners; when you open windows, they stop working" :P

  • oh that's damn true

  • Right On! swishsamuk. Down with windows!!!

  • It weird how Windows is the popular one =/ Guess the money-making works...

  • It´s so-called easier to get and nobody bothers to try anything else (or learn). I just switched to mac and no big problems . It was easier to learn and not a i-just-look great os. It´s interesting that pc response is always that mac users don´t know anything about using computers.

  • We mac users don't have to know all the background stuff that is going on with our computers because we don't have to fix them all the time. So yes as a mac user i do know about pc's. I know to stay away from them.

  • Windows popularity is based on all the piraticy of copies of Windows. Without the piracy, windows would not have become the most well known OS

  • I'm pretty sure it was one of the early Apple Computers.

  • Which commercially available computer had the mouse first?

  • The first Machintosh (an Apple) was the first out with the mouse... But they did'nt invent it

  • Not really true.. the Lisa (a 10,000 flop) was the first...

Xerox Parc's where the first people to have a GUI interface, but it was nothing like what Apple came out and put in the Lisa.

  • I believe the Lisa was the first commercially available computer with a mouse although Xerox PARC came first, it was a prototype I think.
