not to mention ginn was out of the florida game after our first play, he was smiths favorite target and MUCH faster than everyone on floridas d. he opened up gonzo and the shortgame, even if ginn wasnt putting up major stats he was a huge difference maker
@tk031788 yeah dude im the biggest buckeye fan there is. But if ginn didnt get hurt we may have lost 41-28 or something like that. They were too fast for us on every side of the ball
This offense was SICK. Troy, Pittman, Beenie, Ginn, Gonzo, Robiskie, Hartline...I have no idea how we lost to Florida. Where the FUCK was our offense? I hate Tim Tebow.
That was PART of the reason. Poor game prep and zero in-game adjustments by the Buckeyes was the rest of it. Neither the players nor the coaches showed up that day.
This guy truly impresses me. His route running, his family background in the NFL, the circus type catches he makes, his maturity. I think there's no doubt that this guy's going to be a very good WR in the NFL for many years to come.
hey bro don't hate on the south, I'm from florida and we have the best athletes of any state. With that said I would like to let u know that I'm a USC fan and yes the SEC is vastly overrated, but the south is real when it comes to producing athletes out of HS....
Is that all you have? haha that's a joke the greatest players of all time come from the north and Emmit Smith may be the lead rusher but Barry Sanders was the greatest RB of all time hands down.
Bronko Nagurski, Dick Butkus, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Charles Woodson, Orlando Pace, Ben Roethlisberger all already in the hall of fame or going to be, for every seven from the south you list I can name ten from the north.
no your a joke. I only named players from Florida on that list while u named players form the entire northern region. We can go there but u have no chance... Ed Reed Patrick Willis Jerry Rice Walter Payton Adrian Peterson Ladainian Tomlinson Lawrence Taylor Deion Sanders look at the last 5 Super Bowl MVP's Santonio Holmes-Belle Glade, FL Eli Manning-New Orleans, LA Peyton Manning-New Orleans, LA Hines Ward-Forest Park, GA Deion Branch-Albany, GA
The greatest players of all time come from the north (FACT), and btw Rey Lewis is not going to make the Hall of fame, players with a terrible personal background never end up making it.
Oh and btw l2 spell.
Nearly every player that is considered the greatest player at their position comes form the north.
Considering 65% of the hall of fame is from north of the mason dixon line, and the state with the most hall of famers is Pennsylvania your argument is a farse.
that is not a fact that is an opinion... I believe that the south produces better athletes and the south, particularly my home state of Florida has the best HS football in the country... The last 3 HS National Champions have been from Florida
Lakeland HS
Miami Northwestern HS
St. Thomas Aquinas HS.
You're a fool if u think Ray Lewis won't make the HOF.
The best 2 CB all time:Dick Lane-TX & Deion Sanders-FL
oh and if personal background is an issue for the HOF I guess the committee forgot that when they elected O.J Simpson and Lawrence Taylor. geez ur dumb. LOL you named four different positions where there are 13 different major positions in football, that's not including special teams, you just made yourself look even worse bud ROFL!
BTW: OJ Simpson - Inducted into hall of fame before he F*cked his life up.
Lawrence Taylor: haha are you really using him as an example?
Oh and should I add to the fact that out of High School football players only 5% end up going to college and playing football.
For the north and south. 9% of High School players end up playing football in college for the north.
only 7% for the south.
Oh and ya, Rey Lewis is good, but I can think of better players that never made it to the NFL, and I'm pretty sure he won't make it due to the murder investigation.
I only named 4 because I ran out of commenting space... The fact remains that nearly ALL of the premier players at their respective positions are from the south. I do recall that LT was arrested on possession of cocaine before he as inducted. Every Super Bowl MVP this decade has been from the south w/ the exception of Tom Brady who's from California. Where are u from anyway? U talk about the entire north. I bet your state hasn't produced what Florida has the past 20 years.
I was born in Chicago, and I live in Daytona Beach.
If memory serves right I live in the same state as you.
Super Bowl MVP's don't technically mean anything, it's just a player who played good for the Superbowl, an example is Santonio Holmes, he isn't even the best WR on his team.
The North has more great players than the south, more hall of famers than the south, and the Majority of the greatest players of all time belongs to the north.
Let's talk about your state vs mine. Illinois PAILS in comparison to Florida in terms of producing football players.Yea u guys produced 16 hall of famers but 5 were either coaches or owners. and none of the players actually played in the last 30 years. Such is the case with most of your "northern greats" they were good, but they were good at a time when football players weren't nearly as athletic as they are now. Oh and the state w/ the most HOF's is Texas w/ 27, which is in the south.
When did this turn into a discussion of Illinois vs. Florida? Dick Butkus (Illinois) put the fear of god into every player he hit and wasn't even the most athletic linebacker on his team, he is proof you don't need to be super athletic to be good at this game.
The north contains about 35% of this country's population and has more Hall of Famers than the south.
That's the only fact you need to know and you still deny it.
Nagurski: only player to be an all-pro at three non-kicking positions.
And like I said before those guys didn't play in this era. The NFL they played in wasn't todays NFL. Butkus was a hard hitter but do u think he'd catch Chris Johnson (orlando), do u think a guy as big as Brandon Jacobs would be scared of Butkus. I never saw Butkus catch a receiver from behind in the open field, but Patrick Willis (Tenn.) U keep talkin bout guys who, except for maybe Butkus, wouldn't do much in today's NFL. The fact is the best players of today come from the south.
In THIS Era, the north outran the south at the NFL combine by .032 seconds.
North: 4.521 AVG
South: 4.553
Our receivers and DBs also outran the south.
The south needs football though, too many retards and rednecks.
No wonder the good schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton want to be as far away from you as possible, athletics is all you have, while people from the north can be [more] athletic and smarter at the same time.
ok schools like Harvard, Princeton, and Yale aren't for the intelligent they're for the rich and snobby. For Pete's sake George Bush went to Yale w/ a D average... that alone should end that. As for athletics I'll give u guys Basketball, but the Football in the south is just more competitive and better. U can say what u wanna but if u can name 5 good current players from the North I can name 10 from the south who are just as good or better...
lol no you can't, more players have been attending the pro bowl and being selected to the all pro team in recent years than players from the south.
LOL look at the Nation's 25 most poverty stricken states, go ahead, the south is crowded with 'em.
lol Florida won because of an 10-15 lbs overweight Troy Smith, Ginn's Ankle, a fight in the locker room, and an unprepared team that did no training or preparing weeks before the game.
I don't care about poverty stricken states that has nothing to do with talent... What I'm saying is that southern states play better HS football than northern states. Every super bowl MVP this decade has come from the south w/ the exception of Tom Brady who's from California...
Super Bowl MVP? What does that have to do with anything? It's just a player who's played good in one game.
Santonio Holmes - not even the best WR on his team.
Eli Manning - haha he's a decent NFL qb but nothing great.
Yeah southern states play better HS football because the academic rating down there is so hilariously low that the players need to be good at something or they won't make it in life so they choose sports instead of baggers at walmart.
U can say what u want about Super Bowl MVP's but obviously u need to be some kind of good to have a good game in the super bowl. Just because Holmes isn't the best receiver on his team doesn't mean he's not good. As for Eli Manning he did have a better season than Ben Roethlisberger, throwing for more TD's and having a higher rating so he's pretty good. Peyton Manning is by far better than any current QB from the north, Hines Ward is a future HOF, Deion Branch is a pretty good reciever.
and here we have another idiot using statistics to bash the South. you seriously think everyone in the South is what you see in movies? If you do, then I feel pity for your soul. I admit, I don't know why my mom moved here from D.C., Alabama sucks, but I don't know what DC is like, I moved from there when I was 2. but for you to say that every state here is poverty stricken and uneducated is seriously ignorant AND for you to use sports as an EXCUSE is beyond stupid, you're pathetic.
fuck you all fuckeye pussy fans!!! Ohio State is nothing but humiliations...earlier this year, USC JUST WHOOPED YOUR PATHETIC BUCKEYE ASSES(35-3)...2006 nat'l championship, the gators disgraced you guys and they only scored 2 td's
..Last year!!!! the LSU beat you guys 38-24 another back-to-back title loss for the fuckeyes!!! Ohio state is 0-9 against the SEC which apperantly sad!!! and now expect another upset when u pussies faced the longhorns...
apperantly stupid...when you say 0-9 that meant they were 0-9 against SEC not the rest of their bowl games. Like i said, they are nothing but a joke... Now let's put them to the real test when they faced texas.. Not a fan of both though but im rooting for the longhorns so shut up dipshit and watch more football while still livin'...
You are a fucking idiot who is your team? OSU has more history and more quality players in the nfl than any SEC team. Think about it, all the players selected from Ohio State in the first round the past 10 years have been good investments for the most part. Mike Jenkins is really the only bust. Can't say Gholston just yet Rex Ryan is going to turn him into a beast. IMO
Aww. Did you forget to change your diaper? Do you need a tissue? Shut the fuck up and go change your panties. You're a typical SEC fan who lives in the past on select games. So, fuck you and your overrated conference.

PS - I guess that Robiskie's dad [former LSU player] ate his words after the game. I hope he enjoys Ohio as he will not be welcomed at LSU ever again.
wow, I will bet you stayed up all night to copy that one from Stiffie, your OSU compatriot. Go play your XBox, son, before your mom finds out you are on the internet again.
OSU outran Michigan 229 to 15. In the Big House. On the last chance for Hart and Henne to beat the Buckeyes. On their chance to win the Big Ten and go to Pasadena...
you can't ever blame a loss, especially a blowout, on one person. We got our butts kicked. Don't blame Troy. Thank him for the great season. But he's not to blame for the Florida game. Give credit to Florida. They smoked us. And like Tressel said in the locker, no pointing fingers, no blame game, no motivation for next year, this doesn't happen often at Ohio State so cut it loose. They got us. It was our year, it was there day.
You buckeyes are lucky you have good receivers because that was not a good pass and Robiski had to totally stop to catch that. And if anyone thinks Troy Smith can do it all by himself, let me remind you of January 8th 2007, Ted Ginn gets hurt, Troy throws for 35 yards, OSU loses. Check that, OSU gets raped
He has done it all by himself. Against Michigan, AT Michigan in 2005. Watch the game before making blanket statements on a player you know nothing about.
I know alot about Troy Smith. Probably more than any other person who isnt an ohio state fan. But you cannot say I am wrong. Other his scrambling abilities he is not a great pocket passer compared to someone like Brady Quinn. Dont get me wrong, Troy is a good quarterback but how is it, when he loses his best receiver, he only throws for 35 yards in one game?
Not a good pocket passer? He threw a better completion percentage than Brady Quinn! So I guess all of those passes were on the run, and to Ted Ginn Jr right? Look, Smith sucked it up in the NC game, big time, but it wasn't all because of the absence of Ginn (besides, for the year Gonzo had more receptions that Ginn). Smith himself stated he wasn't in shape for the game because of going on his awards tour, not to mention our line play was the worst I'd seen in a decade.
Dont try to blame that loss on anyone but Smith. That loss was all his fault and not the o line or anything else. That was the heisman winner we saw throwing for 35 yards in one game and leading his team to embarrasment
@weeezerguy812 well first he didnt even have a pocket to throw in during january 8th 2007... he was the only one on the offence even trying he was running from his life i remember there were atleast 3 people from the defence in his face when he snaped it he and his offensive line have done all the work and when he didnt have a offensive line he had no chance to do anything
@weeezerguy812 smith threw that ball 55 yards downfield you dumbass. sorry if the accuracy wasn't pin-point perfect but considering he threw it more than half the length of the football field, it was an incredible pass
It wasn't like you dominated that game. If our stupid "phenom" quarterback wouldn't have thrown two INT's for TD's in the last 2 minutes, you woulda been sweatin

OSU outran Michigan 229 to 15. In the Big House. On the last chance for Hart and Henne to beat the Buckeyes. On their chance to win the Big Ten and go to Pasadena...
No soccerplaya, you are wrong. FUCK MICHIGAN

you can't ever blame a loss, especially a blowout, on one person.

HAHA I was there!!!

Check that, OSU gets raped
weeezerguy812 4 years ago
He has done it all by himself. Against Michigan, AT Michigan in 2005. Watch the game before making blanket statements on a player you know nothing about.

I know alot about Troy Smith. Probably more than any other person who isnt an ohio state fan. But you cannot say I am wrong. Other his scrambling abilities he is not a great pocket passer compared to someone like Brady Quinn. Dont get me wrong, Troy is a good quarterback but how is it, when he loses his best receiver, he only throws for 35 yards in one game?
weeezerguy812 4 years ago

@weeezerguy812 ur pretty stupid bro
ohiostatsbuckeye 11 months ago
@weeezerguy812 well first he didnt even have a pocket to throw in during january 8th 2007... he was the only one on the offence even trying he was running from his life i remember there were atleast 3 people from the defence in his face when he snaped it he and his offensive line have done all the work and when he didnt have a offensive line he had no chance to do anything
ohiostatsbuckeye 10 months ago
@weeezerguy812 You can thank his offensive line for that

@weeezerguy812 smith threw that ball 55 yards downfield you dumbass. sorry if the accuracy wasn't pin-point perfect but considering he threw it more than half the length of the football field, it was an incredible pass

You must not know much about football ehol. The 2nd guy is a good 5 yards away even after the catch was made. The first guy was flat out beat.
joshkelly 5 years ago
The blocking broke down and he threw it into double coverage... I'm not sure if the play execution was all that great.

It wasn't like you dominated that game. If our stupid "phenom" quarterback wouldn't have thrown two INT's for TD's in the last 2 minutes, you woulda been sweatin
