  • Muy bueno, me gustan muchos tus covers! ¿Puede ser que las notas de estribillo sean Si, Fa#, Re, Do#, SI, La, Do# Re, Mi Fa#? Perdón por la molestia!

  • Grea great GREAT!

  • Good job

I want to give you an important tip tho,

Look at how your right wrist is bent. The longer you play like that the more probable it is you'll get an injury.

Instead of resting your forearm on the bass, try to rest some of the weight on your thumb (pickup or E string), in order to keep lessen the tension in the wrist.

I know that now it doesn't make any difference, but as you get older playing the bass, you need to remember those, otherwise they can be quite painfull

    Rock on !

  • @CherryConcrete

    thx man

this is my oldest vid from 2007, ive stopped with that bad habbit now =)

    thx for the comment!

  • Nice cover.

You need to work on your right-hand technique a bit, though.

Losing a lot of tone this way...

  • this looks fun to play. I'm gonna learn it next.

  • You Have SKILL! xD

  • posted a video response to share experience hope you like it and learn of it as I had learnt something about yours....=)

  • @dommy238

wow..."jazz bass crap, go get a metal bass?"

stop talking nonsense, "metal basses" have horrible tone....

  • great job but you need to use more syncopation in between your notes to make it funky :)

  • @edgar669966 isnt syncopation off beat notes?

  • yeah, most groove isnt totally on time, like they hold some rests out like a half beat

  • @edgar669966 fair doos

  • What brand of bass is that? Is that Nordstrand pickups I detect?

  • it's and old ibanez, tr expressionist 500 =)

  • dude yo u R ownz0r

  • Mandou bem companheiro.

  • mae olvidelo sea feliz

  • Well done, but try to keep it as tight as possible ("in the pocket").

Playing by ear is the best way to learn imho. I only use tabs as a last resort.

    keep it up.

    peace Ed

  • indeed, its normal to use tabs at the beginning, but get use to use your ear as soon as possible, its the really way to learn. Use a slowdowner programme if the fingering its too fast and you cant hear it atm

  • nice work man - this is awesome :)

  • fatal chaval

  • no groove... :-(

  • what do u mean no groove........ u have no groove...hes not the strongest player...but theres a groove

  • Sounds good and it shows up that you have skills playing bass because you have learned this song by ear! Keep rockin :D

  • thank you very much =) glad u liked it

  • sorry but i've been playing for 6 months and I play it better.... kind of basic...

  • que decis??

  • where's your video then, you hideous retard?

  • unus gusta,,

there are many great players of the bass on you tube,,,you must be one ,,

    saluttee

  • Good job dude!!

"Stefanof" is a great bass player but please watch "viz76 " :)

  • Hey Patagonic Groove.. How long you been playing for? Did you find this bassline hard to pick up? I have been practicing Runaway by Jamiroquai and almost got it right down pat. I'd love any tips. Your style is really cool.

  • hey, i ve been playing for 4 years now,, this vid is almost 2 two years old.

this song was a little bit difficault to learn, i think it's better trying to learn other JQ songs wich are simpler, like cosmic girl, and try to get the groove

that's what I'm always trying to learn from jamiroquai, playing not so many notes but with a looot of groove.

check out stefanof's cover of cosmic girl live, and try to learn it, it's just awesome

  • haha yeh Stefanos cosmic girl is very rocking. I can play cosmic girl pretty well. It was the first song i learnt. damn its nice. Yeah..Stefano's solo is magical. I copied it to a degree and even the small bit i got, makes it sound delicious to the ears.

  • You have lovely finger movements. Im only competent with 2 fingers and u seem to have mastered at least 3 to get to the lower strings without compromising ur timing. I really like it.

  • thx =)

it looks weird how I move them, but I actually only use two

  • I thought your really only supposed to use the index and middle right?

  • yes, that's the most common way, but he thought i was using 3 =)

  • well done. if you want to get better, work with a metronome to make sure your right hand is hitting at the exact right time. well done though man

  • Dude I give you mad respect for that near flawless rendition of the song. I've tried to play it myself and in the beginning, the very first part is probably one of the most difficult things I've ever encountered as a bassist. Not that I've been playing that long, but I know tough it could be so I can appreciate it all the more. Keep it up I look forward to more.

  • increible, segui asi

    saludos

  • absolutely love that tone, great playing too.

  • jamiroquai ftw :) you're awesome man

  • Keep practing and you'll play it better than you are..

    I liked it!

    Very good!

  • good but keep practicing. acid jazz is as much what you put into the music as what comes out the amp

  • i cant see what yure playin :-C big shame

  • Great tone. Is that a Nordstrand Nordy?

  • chupame la verga colombiano =)

  • wuajajajaja!!!

    sigue tocando man..

  • You have to improve some stuff... Keep on practicing that it will get great.

  • dio ti benedica

    P.S. that was awesome!

  • nice very nice

  • amazing... that's the correct word for this

  • AWESOME!!!

  • sin palabras! genial!

  • yeah

  • buenisimo lokura!

  • you have all the notes but it doesnt feel tight... just articulate it a bit more instead of making it sound really flowing and u'll be groovin'

    great job

  • got it down... took about 3 weeks of like an hour a day, but didn't look at this video since then, guess the tab at ultimate guitar and a metronome helps!

  • Funk on my funky brutha from anothuh mothuh.

  • I've been working on getting this song down for about a week now, so far, it's gonna take about another month or so to perfect. I've only been playing for about a year and a half now, but I play a ton cuz i'm still in school so i have tons of free time.

Great job on this son, one of my all time favorite Jamiroquai songs next to runaway!

  • woops, typo, meant song, not son haha

  • excelence... i don't think paul turner would have said it any better... Nice...

    excelente cover.

  • All you need now is a badass hat with some aviator shades

  • Niice :)

  • bien pibe ! sos un kpo!

  • nice..nice..nice...right hand-speed *thumbs up

but i think this walk ups after the "mimimimimi" is a little bit to fast, thats why u get into a 1/4 brake which sound a little wrong, but anyway...VERY greate job..go on grooving!

    greez

    Rocky51

  • at the intro of the verse, do u use index, middle and ring finger on the F#? I dont know how can u do it with just 2 fingers, D=

  • How long have you been playing?

  • 3 years now =)

  • great!

  • hey dude is that a pedulla ?

  • unluckily it's not a pedulla =\

    ibanez tr expressionist

  • Very awsome man!

  • you should always play by ear, if possible.

    it trains your brain

  • hi mate, not a bad effort... your bass sounds a little out of tune though? maybe flat?

    keep playing, good stuff!

  • Weird way you use your right hand?

  • i use the index and the middle finger as normal =\

  • Ah i c :D i was wondering why it looked so weird ;D

but if thats how u play best thats just how u should play :P

  • you don't seem to play imimimim like most people...sometimes you just use one finger really quickly

  • :O awesome!

  • nice job playing by ear! an enjoyable watch

  • good job. :o)

  • So far, from what I'm seeing [the tab is online, but you do have to search for a little] it sounds just right. But I'm not the greatest on my bass, so there might be. Who has a better ear for Jam-Kay's basslines?
