So if they didn't need one and only referred to themselves with a first name, how does this argument even become plausible if the history isn't even looked at correctly?
Two things: The men that wrote the new testament do claim to have walked with Christ. If Jesus wasn't such a big deal, why would one lie about that then? Not only that, but historically, there were witnesses that saw them walk with Jesus. History books and eye witness accounts claim that to be true, outside of the bible. If you deny that, then you must also deny history books. Therefore, the Quran too cannot be accounted for an accurate account of history. So is the Quran false?

Two things: The men that wrote the new testament do claim to have walked with Christ. If Jesus wasn't such a big deal, why would one lie about that then? Not only that, but historically, there were witnesses that saw them walk with Jesus. History books and eye witness accounts claim that to be true, outside of the bible. If you deny that, then you must also deny history books. Therefore, the Quran too cannot be accounted for an accurate account of history. So is the Quran false?

Luke wrote Acts. Matthew, Mark, and Luke were written in the mid 50's A.D, with Acts being the first book written in the New Testament, 20 years after Christ. John most definitely knew Christ; because, he was one of the original 12 disciples. John was written around 90 A.D, 60 years after Christ. John was a very old man when he wrote his Gospel, and he wrote it to refute people who were trying to distort the gospel.
Oh, by the way, surnames are a very recent invention.

Matthew, John, Luke... so what if they don't have last names. What about Abraham? Moses? King David? Solomon? Joseph? He disregards that every key figure in the old testament (Torah) have no last names. In the Hebrew culture people were known as the Son of... rather than a surname. Jihad is self struggling for personal transformation and not for killing innocent people. The prophet had ordered his followers during battle to spare the weak,innocent,woman and children, takecare of their prisoners as if their own brother and let them learn about the true essence of Islam and NOT forcing them to believe. I've been to Egypt and have muslim friends and they are some of the gentlest people I know, even when they know I believe in Jesus Christ as the Messiah & Mediator between God and man. The only difference is that Christians believe "Jesus" was the last prophet and Muslims believe that "Mohammed" <- i apologize if I spelled his name wrong.. was the last prophet.. I'm trying to figure out both religion and learn about both.. One thing I can't stand is that both religions are not to judge and do bad.. but we do it anyways because we are humans.. If you are going to stand up for Christianity or Islam than why do we show hatred against each other?

arabulhabibi: You really gotta do more research before talking.. Islam has something that no group/religion in the world has, we have "Hafiz" People who memorize the Quran completely. The Quran was only put into text later on by a huge group of Hafiz over seeing the writing so that it was 100% correct and in order.
