Yes there is alot of hypocrisy in religion, I never said there wasn't. People will always try to twist truth to their own preconcieved ideas of what it should be instead of adhering to the Bibical law of comparing scripture with scripture.
I don't know where you got that any of Mr. Waters songs have to do with a disbelief in God, I see it rather as a questioning of hypocrisy in the faith. Jesus questioned the high priests of that day in much the same way, calling them full of dead men's bones

That's what makes it hypocritical! You can't possibly live up to the Biblical law without having to kiss God's ass and ask for forgiveness every night.

Why do I think God is the Christian God?
Because I know the Bible to be God's word and the Bible says He is a God of mercy, truth, love and judgment. The Holy Spirit applies God's word in my life and verifies these truths through the reading and hearing of His word the Bible.
"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God".
It's like identifying with that which is true, I recognize it as truth as God applies it to my life.
