I heard it was because of licensing issues in the USA. Same with the music, which I know makes no sense but....well at least the slideshow ones we get are longer.

Anyways it wasn't because they were lazy. It was due to licensing issues. They were far from lazy.  Not only does our version have more characters, but also Wifi (which works great) and an awesome shooting minigame.
