  • Love your candor! LOL.. Turn off the computer..I am with you..'Notta'!! LOL James C. Christensen is a fabulous illustrator as well..vivid imagination and imagery..you have unique taste. Love the Feist music you used too! In the right 'space' you will find the 'time'! ;)

  • The problem is that there is never enough time - the more I get, the more I waste.

I'm sure you'll get back into the swing of things. But as addictions go, a dependency on YouTube isnt all that bad in the scale of things.

    Cheers.

  • Colorful dancing hugs to you!

  • it is always a balancing act..ALWAYS! We have to let go of certain things and focuson our PRIORITIES. and I LOVE that James C painting. His work is very inspirational. Lovely video. Cheers! d.

  • i like how you were just gathering all your thoughts there in one clip. the different angles, colours, filming techniques gave such an interesting perception of things..

there's something about this that felt kind of, inspiring. you made total sense.

  • NOW.Officially I love YOU so much MORE than your SOCKS...so I will quit asking you to lend me your socks and I will start asking you to send me yourself.

I will make a movie on that :). hehehe

    --God Bless--

  • What a wonderful comment! Haven't seen you around lately Pookie. Glad to hear from ya!

  • I've been around but I have been so behind in keeping up with everyone. I do however get to pop in now and again!

    Great vid!

  • This video was beautiful and meaningful. :) I really enjoyed it! Especially you with your child, that was fantastic! I loved that I'm the animal puppet, lol! Thanks!

    xx SL xx

  • looks like that baby gives you quite a bit of joy

  • i hope you like the videeeeee i sent you i hope the videeeeeee is the right one the videeeeeee is about the computer augument LOL bye bye.

  • Yup, Shrek IS saying, "I'm on it." He too is trying to find the balance between what he wants to be doing and the responsibilities of being a family ogre. :o)

We don't have cable in our house either and we limit our computer usage. It does give us more time for entertaining each other or just having a good heart-to-heart chat. I figure I better get 'em in now before the teen years come along.

    Thanks for the terrific video!

  • AH-ha! I can sleep now. I have not seen the new Shrek so maybe he says it a lot in the movie? Who knows?

  • Elphy...art is living life. So I see it that you are continually creating when you live life. You might not be painting on canvas, but you surely are creating allot in your everyday and heck your vids are truly a work of ART!!!

  • Thanks Artgirl! I love how you put that.

  • There's an old aporsism that goes like this: "Go away cobwebs, dust go to sleep, for I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep". My art was on hold until my youngest turned 16 years old and my eldest child was 26. Children are important, the most important. 5* video and Happy Mother's Day if I didn't tell you. =D

  • Thanks DaliG- your comment brings me a sense of comfort.

  • Your ability to identify what's most important to you and living it is the best present you'll ever give yourself! Enjoy it! Wonderful video!

  • Thanks, and yes, for now, I can identify it. Later, who knows if it will be that easy?

  • I really love your vlogs They hold so much creativity Thankfully I haven't been pulled into Facebook yet, although I have been asked if I'm on it So far no but with YT controlling my life I'm scared to add another addiction LOL Ton of hugs Mel

  • ikwym, don't get into Facebook either! Stay out while you still can!

  • so so great!

I recently cancelled my cable so that I will have more tImE.

  • OMG- are you serious? I was considering that, you know. Lonelygirl15 is all the drama I need but then I thought, geez then Youtube would be ruling my life.

  • Art is not Life (without life's experiences it is almost impossible 2 create true art), but Life can be Art. And you seem 2 B living that balance by loving on your family & friends with so much of your time. ;)

I am honored 2 B in your finger puppet tribute! *blushes*

Loved the vid! So glad U R vlogging. U, Caren & Patzilla R great art vloggers. I'm always inspired by them. Makes me want 2 make 1 like them...then I wake up! LOL

  • Dale- you are soo funny- you totally are "like us"- you're like the sage in the town, to me at least. I gather tons of inspriation from your videos.

  • Oooh I looove James Christianson (sic?). Very wise indeed, Elphy to enjoy life now..very wise indeed..

  • LOL using the (sic)- you must be a writer or a teacher or a reader at least.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • oh my goodness, Facebook is the devil! Loved this video- loved all the colourful toys in the background :) you're a neat spirit :)

  • Thanks- you are too! I want to see more from you, missie!

  • Hey,i raised a son and when he turned 18, i was only 40 and a whole new world opened up! Be with the child #1, and you'll have more time for art later, let's see, 40-80 or so, that's a big space for art, I'm there now and loving it!!! My son and i are very close.. Just stay in practice now on the side.... lovely baby!!! Enjoy your week!

  • Thanks RG- I have hope, then? I hope I'm able to make more art later in life but if I'm not then I won't be sorry I gave it up for him. And I haven't given it up for him totally anyway, I still make him movies and draw and such. It's just that there's less of it. Enjoy your week, too!

  • There are so many things I enjoyed abouy this vlog, including, of course, the MESSAGE!. I love your backlit dancing at the end in front of the white blinds, I love that you are laying in a pile of toys, I love the shoutout to mcarenmc (naturally!) and I love the four finger puppets. I think vlogging on creativity has become an official genre. Woohoo! I can't wait for more. :)

  • It's all your fault that I make these things in the first place- lol. Glad you liked the shoutout. I'm looking at these finger puppets and I'm like, hey! It's Caren! And this one looks like Dale! And.. and... and...

  • great message here, and i'm not just saying that because it excuses my lack of painting. i think sometimes you have to slow down, or you miss what's right in front of you. there are lots of important things in life, and if we are fortunate, we get the time to experience a lot of them. great work.

  • Thanks AVDJ- you are so right! Like your scavenger hunt- you have to slow down and see the beautiful things around you and document when you can.

  • i love Leslie Feist!

    great video

  • She is going to hit it really big sometime soon. I can't wait to see her live!

    And thanks for the comment.

  • omg yea, when i went to buy her c.d the lady said it was the last copy and shes doign realy well.

  • I know! I had to buy it off itunes! I hope she still gets a cut b/c it was only $10.

Talking about Facebook, I added Feist to "my friends" on my Facebook and she accepted! That is a big deal to me. It's not like Myspace where anyone can be your friend.

  • she did! omg thats awesome

  • I know how you feel, I've been wanting to get an art vlog up for a while. I have 3 canvases that have been sitting next to my computer desk for like 2 months. I can't find time between school and keeping in touch with my best friend whom moved (that and my video cameras broken lol).

What I do with my drawings is, work early and later during the day, draw or paint. Sundays are also a great free time for me, maybe it'll be good for you too!

Btw, what edited program do you use for your videos?

  • Thanks for commenting and yeah, I don't think I'm alone reading my comments so far!

I hope you find time to make a vlog one day soon! I love watching quality art vlogs!

I use Adobe Premiere but have not figured it all out yet. I sometimes use Windows Movie Maker but it crashes on me all the time.

  • Good for you! Mommy jobs should come first!!I havent seriously painted since discovering youtube either, i've been watching everybody else paint though..lol SHAME on ME!

  • Youtube is a curse! and don't get on Facebook either. But I love it.

  • You hit the nail right on the head we need a youtube intervention I haven't seriously painted since I been on youtube. luv the VLOG, Family 1st Art second

  • ha ha- that's not the first time I've heard that. My husband thinks I need an intervention.

  • Wait, did I see a chicken? Are we a chicken? Fantastic! And I know what you mean. I haven't painted in years! I'm blaming it now on the unfinished basement. Maybe when that gets done I can have the art center I've always wanted and start, hopefully.... Great video, just LOVE your stuff!

  • You are SUCH a chicken in my mind- mostly because of Bella's costume but also because you take such good care of your chicks.
