We have the same unit and as mentioned previously, keep your receipt. Ours started randomly leaking from the bottom. It turned out that there was a crack in the housing and a failed seal inside and at the top. As it was under warranty, it was a free repair, had it been out of warranty, it would have cost us $140 to repair it.
I could not agree more about the design issues. The furniture attachment nozzle sticking out drives me crazy, but all in all, the unit is worth the $150 (CAD) we paid.

@calyplayer I have a Bissell Powersteamer which was discontinued in 2005 and, it still works like a charm. It's not as fancy as this, but can take house paint out of the carpet.
@calyplayer It does work that well, but keep your receipt. A pump or bearing went on the device, warranty seems to be a piece of cake...we called up an were able to take it to a local shop (I always wondered how those local shops stayed open)

@calyplayer clean the underbelly and rotary area often, mine was clogged up an caused issues...once cleaned out it worked like a charm
