You clearly don't know what you talking about. Toby Gad wrote the song, BC Jean co wrote it. BC Jean was used as to sing the DEMO for TOBY GAD to market the song to Beyonce, same with Big Girls Don't Cry. Beyonce did not recieve a writing credit for this song, get over it. BC Jean is a demo singer.

i am sorry. I love beyonce to death. I have listened to her since she was 16. I think she is one of the best singer's/performers of all time, but this is the second time she has done this shit. she took des'ree's song then victoria beckham's song, and now bc's song. even though Bee may have paid to have them, she always take credit as if she came up with the entire idea by herself. I think her version of all 3 of the songs are better but she has enough fame, damn give credit where it is due.

She got permission for Des'ree's song. She was only sued because she wasn't supposed to shoot a music video or change the name of the song. But she did get permission to sing it. That was confirmed. B.C. Jean's song was not stolen but bought by Beyonce. Jean is getting paid for it so check on things and just don't believe what you hear. No disrespect.

Like Beyonce said she never puts her name on anything that she didn't do. Her name is not on the writing credits for IF I WERE A BOY but she is listed with Toby Gad as a producer. As far as Des'ree's song goes Beyonce is listed as a writer. Whether its a minor change or not you still get credit. Think if you did a little work on something then you're going to want your credit 2 right? I like BC Jean's way of singing it. The song was written by BC Jean and sold to Beyonce because BC Jean's contract didn't fall threw. But the song is suppose to sound like she's struggling. No, although she "bought it", she did not buy it from BC Jean (the owner). That is the issue. The Knowles paid a producer (who did not own the song) to use it. The law suit against Beyonce was legitimate-- she did not have permission from BC Jean to use it. However, they've reached settlement now. (Beyonce will sing the song with BC Jean)
