This is a shameless rip-off of Vicente's "City of Ideas"... namely, the main theme as played by the guitarist. They could have at least credited the original composer!
Perhaps they did officially? When magnificent pieces are produced, the world replays them many times. That's often the most beautiful credit given to a gift of music. Levy has too much class to "steal" music and not give appropriate credit.
@hwiseman1 - I hope they did it officially, because I really like Levy's voice and it'd definitely be a shame if she/her band ripped off Vicente's tune...
What is love? It's looking beyond the mountains when sun rises Looking for new color in a rainbow and never accepting to be just a simple thinker What is love? Ask the goldfish, the river and the flower Love hasn't ways and wanders a lot Doors are needless coz path appears itself And is this love at final when everything is beautiful and don't have an explication? that's shelter and home for some dreamer who acts like a poet but he wants to be a singer
Jews living in Spain (Sepharadi) were expelled by the Catholic kings in the 16th century. Many of them were accepted by the Ottoman Empire. The ones living in Balkans were killed by the nazis but the ones living in Turkey survived. Yasmin is a Tukish Jew of Sephardic origin.
Actually you are wrong on several points. King Boris of Bulgaria refused the Nazis' intent on taking the Bulgarian Jewish citizens. Most of the Greek Jews of Salonika were killed by the Nazi's, but many did survive. In France, the Turkish embassy came and rescued many 2nd and 3 generation French Jews of Turkish descent (I am living proof of that)approx. 10 thousand were rescued. The edit of Expulsion was 1491-92, not 16th century. Yasmin is Turkish in nationality, Jewish in faith.
woooww for the first time i feel like i really missed my half turkish!!!i will thank my mom for giving me her blood i feel so proud of it after seeing ppl such as yasmin :)
Is she were born in Turkey, then why isn't she Turkish? Couldn't she be a Turk of Jewish descent? If a Jew is born in the U.S., he's American. And why is it "unfortunate" you were born a Jew???
I saw her give a totally spell-blinding. electrifying, compelling performance less than 5 months ago in London. Audience went totally ape. No spare seats to be had and people were turned away at the door. Book in advance!
absolutely love this . and very tastefully mixed with Vicente's

What is love?
Look beyond the mountains
When the sun rises
Search for a new colour on the rainbow.
What is love?
It is an open window to your illusions.
It is looking at the sky with your heart
Without being afraid of failing.
Never be content with your thoughts.

you put all your trust in love you gave
there'll be no way to restart
Now is the moment, try to find it
try and find it
What is love?
It' s window opened to your illusion
It's looking at sky trough your heart
Without afraiding of falling
and never contetnting with your thoughts

"No necesita puerta es camino"
not "No necesita poeta cerca de ningún"
not "....nada gusterorador etc.."
may I wrong but I hear like that!:) cheers

LadyRita1986 3 years ago
She is israeli and jewish. (Family name Levy) The jews were spreaded over the world. The origin of many Turkish jews is from Spain.
She also has songs in Ladino which was the language of the Jews in Spain (like Idish in Germany).
