@Magmonkrz That might be a subtitute for v8 but it never sounds like v8. It's simply impossible. I live in Poland and I really know the term of 'expensive fuel' but damn I love v8s - for the straight v8 legend, performance, style and (first of all) sound. And I do not mean flat crankshaft, but the only proper - crossplane. Europeans don't really know that but ford v4 was an american 'junk' thrown to europe because of us customers which didn't like it in the 60s. 1st mustang prototype was v4:)
@tpvalley I don't really know what kind of v4 americans built in 1962/63, but I've read that 1 of their prototypes was given to germans and produced as taunus... What was the difference between those 2 designs?
the taunus was like a cortina apart from one model.
the essex and cologne were similar but no parts were interchangable as the heads were different and so cam shafts in th block with different spacing of lobes existed and the colognes had siamesed exhaust ports plus the capacities were different.
@tpvalley Thanks for the answer! But what does the 'siamesed exhaust ports' mean? Can I understand this as every 2 cyl head has one exhaust port? From technical side, I do know nothing about this engines and this car, honestly...
Could you tell me where I could get this exhaust system?

@sjnorway1
The brand of the silencer is "Thrush" , you can buy it from summitracing or ebay.us Quite cheap as well, 40-50 dollars each.

@MrWindsor289
if 2 cylinders share a port its called siamesed port; most 2 cylinder engines will have 2 exhaust ports/ outlets.
the essex has 6 normal ports the cologn has 4 siamesed ports total.
