What is everyone's opinion on the spine protectors? I've just started horseback riding, and I wear a helmet, but I don't know about shelling out $150 for a back protector. I don't want to break my spine, but I also don't think I'm going to have a huge fall. Right now, I'm just riding the horse through a sort of muddy area.

I really liked this clip. This summer I will have about 3 little kids who want to ride horses and I want them to watch something before we head out to the corral so they have some idea what to do. I have saved the URL so I can e-mail it to them so they can watch this. Good tips. I even learned something.
