Leaving a blank screen for a few seconds and starting flat isn't as good if you just transition it better. Music= didn't help to understand the plot of this better, find something that will make the viewer really feel what you want. Overall= focus on one aspect (friendship, combat, whatever) and solely roll with that. Don't combine two.

I've only just realized, but many Naruto trailers take the Japanese voices from episodes, but change the subs so that it fits with their trailer. Some of the statements said in this were used in: "007 Vegita's Final conflict"
Only it had different subs, and I must say was MUCH better.
