  • I have a 2005 magnum 2.7L the oil light comes on when I stop and when I star driving it is off....do I need to replace the sensor? it has 155k miles

  • I would first check your oil level. You may want to also check your oil pressure, then test your oil pressure switch and replace as needed.

  • @canobd2 oil level is ok. how can I check oil pressure?

  • You will need an oil pressure test gauge tool. Remove the oil pressure switch (located on the back side of the engine block), install the test gauge start the engine at idle the pressure should be 5psi and 45-105psi at 3000RPM.

  • @canobd2 thank you so much for your help.....and thank god for the internet...

  • @canobd2 i have an 84 honda accord and i cant seem to find my sensor.. can you help would really help me out

  • The oil pressure sensor for your 84 Accord should be located on the oil filter housing.

  • thanks for the videos,,they help me alot.. : )

  • How about an 88 Cherokee? We can't figure out where our oil leak is coming from. Already replaced the oil pan gasket and rear main seal as well as cleaned the valve cover. Still leaking and only when we turn it off.

  • Your oil pressure sensor for your 1988 jeep should be located right above the oil filter. You might want to check the oil filter housing for leaks (the "o" rings are known to fail).

  • can i use a teflon to stop leakages??

  • Yes, you might also want to try RTV silicone.

  • 1997 Nissan altima gxe location would be?

  • The oil pressure switch for your 1997 Altima is located to the right of the oil filter.

  • what about a 98 ranger

  • What engine is in your 1998 Ranger?

  • is a oil pressure switch and sensor the same thing.

  • Yes, the oil pressure switch and sensor are one in the same.

  • on a 4age 86 toyota corola engine

  • on a 2000 mazda mpv ?

  • The oil pressure sensor for your 2000 MPV is located on the oil filter side towards the front of the engine.

  • How bout on a 2001 Ford Ranger? Can't find it.

  • What engine?

  • @canobd2 3.0L 6 cyl.

  • The oil pressure sensor for your 2001 Ranger is located in the engine block on the right (passenger side) top of the engine just behind the cylinder head.

  • i have a 1991 firebird 305 were is mine located :) and temperature switch..

  • The oil pressure switch for your 1991 Firebird is located on the left rear side of the engine block.

  • Thanks man. you are a great help . Did this my self . i have a 98 camry. Great job .

  • Where would it be located on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee ?

  • If your 1999 Jeep has a 4.0L then your oil pressure sensor should be located right above the oil filter.

  • Where would it be for my 1993 honda civic 1.5?

  • The oil pressure switch for your 95 Civic is located right above the oil filter.

  • I could so do that, huh? but, where is it on a 2001 olds aurora 3.5?

  • The Oil Pressure Sensor in your 2001 Aurora is located on the right side of the engine block next to the Knock Sensor (KS) at the rear of the engine.

  • Since I am not mechanically inclined... I have a 94 Volvo 850 when driven for about 35 min the car will start to sputter when accelerating as if it is going to stall... Then Oil explodes out the top of the engine. Car will not run properly until it sits for about 45 min then i will run fine. Its almost as if there is to much pressure causing the oil to push out the weakest point (Oil Cap) then a "saftey" feature kills the engine. Would that be caused by the oil pressure sensor?

  • I would recommend taking your Volvo to your local repair facility and have it checked out. Good Luck!!

  • hey, would you know where it's located on a 92 prelude base model?

watch?v=avGKF3uhO_c is my link to the leak

  • Your Oil Pressure Sensor for your Prelude is located right above the oil filter.

  • can u tell me where I can find the oil pressure sensor in a pontiac sunfire 97 thanks

  • Your oil pressure sensor for your Sunfire is located on the left side of your cylinder head.

  • 2006 honda civic 1.8L engine

  • I'm assuming you would like to know the location of the oil pressure sensor for your 2006 Civic? It is located just below the vtec solenoid (on the right rear of the cylinder head).

  • 2006 honda civic 1.8L engine

  • 2001 cavalier oil pressure sensor location please. The light comes on when stopped goes off when driving thanks.

  • What size engine do you have? If it's a 2.2L then the sensor is located up to the left of the oil filter.

  • after seeing this. i think my base model 94 firebird has this problem. my "low oil" light comes on. i brake like coming to a stop. my oil gauge goes down to zero, then check gauges comes on. accelerating, brings oil pressure back up. and "check" turns off. but i check my dip stick now. and even if its off. is like 30x higher then full. i think the sensor is failed and starving my engine. ill try this and see what happens. -faved- ill let ya know how it goes

  • Where would the sensor be in a '99 Dakota R/T? I'm having some issues with my check gauge light coming on when stopping, (specifically oil pressure dropping to 0) and I think this might resolve the problem.

  • The oil pressure sensor is located next to the distributor assembly, Good Luck!

  • I would make sure your timing belt is tight (a loose timing belt can cause a slapping noise). Another thing to recheck is your valve clearance. Good Luck!!

  • also, before the pump change, gauge would indicate dead 0 oil pressure, but engine was running fine, upon acceleration would come back up to 30-40. but i never saw any oil light pop up on dash, just "check gauges"

  • What are you working on? Make, model, year, engine?

  • now about a week later again oil pressure is back down to about 20 @ idle and 40-45 highway. my last though(shuold have been first) is to change oil pressure switch/sending unit. if there are any other possibilities please let me know. also i am running 10-w30 oil, and its about 28 degrees outside , and pressure dropped when temperature did.

  • i have a 99 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 i6 and my oil sending unit is bad. i'm not exactly sure where it is and i really don't have $35 for a haynes manual. Do u know where it is located?? your help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

  • The oil pressure sensor, in your Jeep is located right above your starter. Good Luck!

  • What engine is in your Impala?

  • what about a 2000 impala

  • do you know where this thing in 1993 corolla? thanks

  • Your oil pressure sending unit is located on the right front of your engine.
